I was in England earlier this month, I really have to say I very much enjoyed my trip. I got to see some rural parts of England and of course got to spend an evening in London being a tourist, exploring Westminster. What a awesome place to visit and everyone was so pleasant. Had a great time...Now I got to plan another trip with the wife and no work.
Ultimate is a super limited run. Once they are done they won’t be coming back. Unlike the other ultimates these are really rare. Never to be done again according to them. For 1499.99 you get 1k worth of upgrades already done. And all the good bits. Only thing they missed is a motor brace.
No way thats 1k worth of upgrades. Servo saver, rear hubs, front steering knucks/hubs, diff covers and gear cover are upgrades. Shock caps are debatable, I bash plenty hard and only broken one. Rest are gimmicks.
Both my boy's, 4 & 7 love watching you. Having adopted them from my daughter and being on SSDI we can't afford these things but they sure are fun to watch. Thank you for giving them some fun ad you utterly DESTROY those poor helpless trucks. LOL God bless you are your's.
So glad to see that you didn't fall for the "limited edition" hype and sent it like it should be sent. I am not seeing any limited availability on these "ultimate editions" over here in the US. Typical TRX hype, trying to create a wave.. Also, I don't see anything on the so called ultimate that made it more enjoyable or durable, frankly, I think it's less durable than the base model., which I do love. The X-Maxx is arguably "The GOAT". Anyways, great video! Love your enthusiasm! Always bright and sunny.. at least on camera! LOL, Cheers!!🍻
If you hold the mode button when you roll over...... the car will attempt to upright itself for 15 seconds so you don't have to walk to it everytime! It works great
They are saying it's limited run, but if they sell enough of these they will continue. I work at a local hobby shop in the US, and we got six of the X-Maxx ultimates in and 6 of the xrt ultimates, and a few people called to have us hold them and pick them up. But we are still sitting on two or three X-Maxx's and probably a good four XRTs. The guys that heard about them and really wanted them snatched them up and naturally we have not seen them back with any broken parts. It's got all the upgrades you would normally end up switching to like the better servo and aluminum steering bell crank and naturally getting different tires because the stock standard X-Maxx tires are not much to speak of. So just adding those few things and not having to do the labor of replacing the servo or the bell crank plus the actual value of these parts does equal about $1,000. And naturally the special bodies for each of these new ones. So that's a value in itself. Without mentioning all the other bits, The main problem is the price. Even though you're getting all that great stuff for another $500 it's really hard to pull the trigger on $1,500. Traxxas people look at the xmaxx as the end all be all truck. So it's a huge deal when you have to spend $1,000 and $400 plus dollars on the batteries and charger. So if you already have an X-Maxx, it's plenty durable and upgrade it as needed and it will get you more familiar with the truck in itself and how it works and comes apart. So current X-Maxx owners are not going for it. But if you're somebody that doesn't have an Xmaxx and has been hesitating to bite the bullet and get one, grab one of these if you can because the extra $500 saves you headache down the road. You'll be able to put this truck through its paces. I recommend the x-maxx over xrt just to be known. Also, I'm an Arrma guy.
I mean the only value I see in it are the bell crank the steel gears and upgraded servo. The aluminum hubs adds useless weight way out on the arm and wasn’t really necessary neither are the aluminum shocks caps. Personally never had issues with the stock diff covers. With the upgraded servo and bell crank the aluminum tie rods are unnecessary as well. The tires are nice but I preferred the unbelted sledgehammers, I could do a standing backflip with the unbelted tires and didn’t have any blowout. The value just isn’t there on an already overpriced albeit incredibly fun truck.
Arrma is a ripoff of HPI, the Original basher. Twin-plate chassis and flexible plastics, much better than Traxxas all around. I bought a Savage in 1999, it still rips. Everyone else was buying Traxxas Tmaxx, so I made some coins constantly replacing the broken control arms, shock shafts and eventually bulkheads. Not sure how they stay in business 🤔
Traxxas slash 4x4 ultimate owner here. Great level 2 car. Dont ever put in the "speed gear". Get a center diff. Blue check shocks, 45 front 50 weight rear. Tekno's with drivers will always beat you but its a great start.
10:33 Also getting all air out of oil is not important. I actually intentionally don't fill full oil, that gives suspension some distance of almost no damping which helps on small fast bumps
Kev you are the only one who is crazy enough... take the monster truck to this vs that off road ... the hoonigans will love to include a monster truck to the serie🔥🔥🔥 guys help me hereee
I have got one finally. Only because of Kev’s videos of all his XMaxx’s. I’m new to RC’s the past 5 months. Got the Hoss then a Maxx then a Sledge another Limited Edition Monster Energy Maxx. Then finally got an XMaxx Ultimate. Love the videos Kev!!! Don’t ever stop!
I'm calling for a smash off between Kevin and Mad Max. Each takes the best RC they have and head on coalition them till one brakes. Winner gets the broken RC and respect... who wants to see this?

An aluminum adjustable sevo saver and a perfect pass monster servo completely changed the way my xmaxx handles. If you have some belted tires it puts the truck on rails
Thank you for putting so much effort into your videos, they're really entertaining to watch! You have a very Kevintalboty-style that I'm sure many of us viewers enjoy :)
The belted tires are killer for blasting around flat terrain, but be prepared people, because they don’t ballon you won’t have the ability to backflip and correct your attitude during jumps to pull off nice landings. I love the look of the ultimate, but can say it’s better or tougher than the normal version. I already broke two steering rods/toe links that wouldn’t have broken with stock parts. sucks but the aluminum still looks pretty cool.
I'm glad you came out with a new video I've been a fan for a while now keep up the good work I hope whoever gets it knows that it came from a great guy. Good luck everyone
Yup. When I put aluminum hubs and C hubs in my X-Maxx, I would be constantly breaking the upper control arms, lower control arms and the steering link even with little jumps. So I went right back to stock plastic parts and it's all good now. I would never put those aluminum parts back in my X-Maxx again! That's been my experience.

Personally I've been running belted tires for years. Everything he said is absolutely true. I prefer the better control but it's definitely not a backflipping machine like it used to be.
I have a regular Xmaxx that's pretty much stock so I'm no hater but i freely admit i prefer Arrma and only bought the Xmaxx off a buddy to help him out of a jam. All that said to say, it looks like they made an ultimate version that's slower and more fragile that cost $500 more. That's definitely some Traxxass thinking. Are they trying to become Porsche?
Yeah. It’s surely epic fun but I would get frustrated with something that breaks that much. Especially when parts would be so expensive. I don’t need a truck that’s stressful to keep running.
i just got into this hobby, started out with a redcat volcano, i wish i could afford to get into it like this. I'm stoked for it to arrive, I got a 5 yr old who got a cheap rc from Walmart and he loves it
First video I've watched in 2 years of being away, glad to see there was no "christmas every day " which is why i stopped watching 2 years ago as some people don't get a Christmas every year let alone every day, so may start watching again as i didn't see that. Good video
Got an Axial Ryft, love this thing, just put a castle system in it, now I ordered a full TrealTreatment, Reefs Raw 500 servo, Vitavon Bead Locks and USD Stickies, this thing gonna be a monster ripper man.
Kev! Drill some holes or a cwvity in lower arms and fill them with oobleck (cornflour and water) / non neutonian fluid and seal it in!! I dont know why it hasnt been done but im sure it will help with strengthening for bashing!
I had no idea these belted tires slows down the ultimate that much. This explains why mine is going 38 😂 I need to gear up some! I agree with you kev, ITS A TANK AND THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN THE X-maxx ultimate. I have the same one but with a hobby wing esc and a green roof skid plate because limited edition awesome green body. Thanks for the video kev!
