I'll never understand why people get so triggered. You bought it to have fun with, you have the knowledge to fix it, make it better and the money to do so. If they want stuff to stay pristine they should buy their own and do that with their own and stop getting so pissy over what you do with your own property. That was a fun video. I'm looking into x Maxx now because over the years you just keep showing how much more durable they are compared to others and the beatings they can take. Not gonna lie. I like watching the destruction and rebuilds
It was entertaining 💯 Xmaxx is very tough!!! Kev kind of got me into the XMAXX's I started with 10th scale R/C then started watching You Tube and founds Kev's channel and the rest is history!!! I love the xmaxx!!!
How rich is Noah??? I can see Kev torture testing to destruction as he is rich but Max destroys everything he touches and that Xmaxx was probably $1500 after a few upgrades.😮
A good friend of mine got me back into RCs about a year and a half ago. He wanted another X-MAXX after he sold his years ago to fund more important things in life. He got his X-MAXX, I got a modded to the teeth Kraton 8S EXB. He wants to keep his body looking nice for awhile, and I'm giving the Kraton absolute hell, nowhere near what Kev does though. I'll give it some time, maybe he'll get another body and get to bashing. One things for sure though, that Kraton is a riot!
If only Xmaxx wasn't so expensive it would be the best RC I think. But once you rebuild other cars to withstand what they can your paying more for something cheaper at the start so it's not half bad even if you have to save to get the Xmaxx it's worth the wait by the looks of this video
you need to call the vacuum cleaner" because you suck" what a line ;D ;D awesome video as always, love how the went from 20 minuts to 43 min of demolishing Derbi ;D
Another really good thing about the xmaxx is simply how easy it is to work on. There's not much you can do to it in a bash session that'll require more than a few minutes on the bench to get back ripping again... Even like smashing the chassis completely to pieces is still like a 20 minute job. Incredible engineering these trucks
Kevin, I commented a couple videos back about how you just smash your RCs no matter what and expressed some dissatisfaction. After you describing how you're just doing what makes you happy and having fun made me realize the lack of perspective I've had for your videos lately. Theres people who love shelf queens and people who love to ride it hard and build it up to handle their style. I do love the new trigger warning at the beginning by the way. Cheers
Always love an X-Maxx durability test. Nicely done Kevin! You guys send it harder than anyone else. Think the stock Traxxas Recievers don't particularly like high voltage Kev... I've had mine nearly 6 years...Stock servo too...Set the end points on it and it'll last. The mods you've done are 100% on the money. People... Listen to Kevin... He knows. They are the best RC you can bash with, and every RC'er should have one..They are that good. Steel gears, Max-6, and a good coat of WD-40 are the bare minimum. One more that wasn't mentioned is 50wt shock oil all round, stock pistons... handles a little better...XRT too.. Awesome vid that had me grinning from ear to ear!! Great to see Ian and the rest of the gang out!!
The glitching might be the high BEC voltage. The old max6 only went up to 7.4 whereas the new one goes to 8.4. 8.4 might have been enough to fry something and make it glitch. The traxxas receiver is only rated for 6v input. Pretty dumb because most other receivers can handle way more voltage. I use a different radio on mine for high BEC voltage.
Max: "I've done nothing wrong!" Also Max: Destruction of property, assault, harassment, retaliation, driving under the influence (of Kev), street racing, being a menace to society, endangerment, beating a dead Xmaxx

32:59 Problem is you set the Servo volt at Max, and the Reciver Can Only handle 5.5-6V MAX..!! So When you are in Air and giv Power, the Reciver is sending fake/wrong signals/rippels to the Esc to Break🤷🏽♂️ So new Reciver and then set it On 6V Max or change the Reciver and transmitter and then 7.5-8.4v☺️😏
Kev I think all that glitching that happened was from when you set the BEC voltage to 8.4v, the Traxxas receiver is only rated for 6.0v so I think it ended up cooking the receiver in the process. This was definitely a brutal video but so entertaining, keep up the good work! :-)

I gave into Kevin‘s Xmaxx hype a couple years ago and was nothing but disappointed. I warrantied the electronics twice, all of them, and I understand the servo works, but for a truck that cost there’s no way it should be that piss poor and when you’re talking about a company like Traxxas, they don’t pay $200 for servo they pay $8 for a much better servo compared to the $4 dollars they pay for their crappy servo. Either way I still love all of the content. I just don’t buy Traxxas anymore. I am officially an Armma and Losi fanboy!!!
electronics in the arms are not any better plus you have to buy chassis and bulkheads and loads more stuff and still they won't take xmaxx abuse. that's my experience anyway, everyone is different

Thanks for the uploads kev! Just got a used xmaxx for 600 and have been loving it, this will be a perfect guide for durability upgrades and how much of a beating is possible
The receiver can only take 6v on the bec so maybe that's why it cut out. Then again if you ran it like that before than maybe its something else. Try putting it back to 6v if it isn't fried yet which it probably is by now! 😂
It's refreshing to watch the bashing of theses rc cars. I didn't even know this existed on this level. Kev and company got me hooked. Thanks for your content. Mississippi is now watching.
i did the exact same thing kev. I think the spec on a traxxas receiver is only 6.0v max input. I blew mine out basically within minutes @8.4. See if 7.4 will hold up longer for you. You’ll still get a boost in performance. I went back to 6.0 on my hobbywing.
Team kyosho forever here but I don’t bash, I race. Two very different machines built for two very different activities, but like Kevin says, whichever one puts the biggest smile on your face.
My first stock servo melted inside on 1 battery driving a round on grass. Upgraded to the HD one striped inside Third one same. So three in about 25 runs. Haven't used to tin over a year because I'm too cheap to buy again out of warranty.
Set your end points on the servo mate... Mines pushing 6 years as are all my bashing buddies...End points os what kills them...oh and outright crash damage.
2.5 years still running the stock servo. Zero issues even while turning 4.4lbs of tires. If the stock Traxxas servo goes out, you don’t buy another Traxxas, get something else
Good to see the Vinman out there. You and him and the golf course. Classic. Kev when the Xmaxx buried the nose into the side of the ramp it reminded me of when you hit that thing you were standing on at full speed around 4 years ago.

Totally epic carnage! A lot of people don’t realize the most expensive parts are the electronics and tires. Almost every other part is under $10! Can’t cry with parts that cheap.
Well, probably a bit because of the consumerism. Breaking, replacing parts, repeat etc. And because they wouldn’t do it themselves. Which is irrelevant since Mr Talbot can do what he sees fit. Just ‘the internet’ I suppose.

I love watching all your videos but especially with the old crew out with you! Always a wild fun time. I just sold my Xmaxx again, I’ve owned two of them over the years, but I just don’t have good space to store or run them. I won’t be getting another one for a long while, but they are one of if not the best basher out there as Kev shows.
That was insane. My dad and I also damaged our RC cars 2 to 4 years ago, only by accident. But one is still alive at least. I'm glad that I don't get triggered by you damaging your RC cars, it's entertaining for me. Even though it looks traumatizing.
Honestly, I think RC history is going to look on the Xmaxx as one of those classic designs. Sure it has its faults, but I don't think there is anything tougher. Great to see you out with the crew again. Yeah the way you drive them, that's just your way of enjoying the hobby. I don't drive mine like that, I've broken nothing on it (famous last words) though my son drove it into a drainage culvert, basically a 90 degree upright concrete wall. It was fine. Fun vid as always Kev.
You can’t turn the power up on the servos and electronics it will fry them every time it will make everything faster for a few but then it burns up the receiver then the steering servo
why do people judge you for spending money on your hobby and your job it's really fun and interesting to watch and you are welcome to spend as much money as you want as long as your happy
I just got an xmaxx, took it out today for the first drive other than infront of the house. The thing is a beast,i have the perfect pass servo in it and on dirt it was so easy to drift for its size!
Is the self righting issues any more prominent on the Maxx vs XMaxx? I commonly break diff housings using self right in my maxx, considering aluminum diff housing but not preferred (afraid it will limit air control)
The biggest problem with me that stock servo is that the ears brake off sometimes. Just put a flat washer that is a bit bigger than the bolt (on each bolt) and that should prevent that from happening. Gpm sells an aluminum housing for the stock servo, but I haven't tried it yet.
Kev I reckon when you selected max voltage supply on the BEC on the max 6 esc. The receiver probably can't handle high voltage so you've partially burnt out the receiver. That's the most likely cause of the glitching.
Arrma Big Rock 6S also having this same issue of auto braking when that RC first launched and they rectify it with software update...... so this Max 6 also having that same issue!

I don't drive mine like that, I've broken nothing on it (famous last words) though my son drove it into a drainage culvert, basically a 90 degree upright concrete wall. It was fine.
Fun vid as always Kev.
Awesome Video Kevin...That punishment The Xmax can endure is something spectacular!! Well done Kevin!!
thats why you buy a M2C beefcake brace for the bottom 73 pound not bent a driveshaft since i fitted mine on my xmaxx
4:30 who else came to the comments after this? 😂 Kev your too funny 😂😂😂
Would you say the same upgrade are needed for the xrt
The world’s best RC car is the one that puts the biggest smile on your face 😁👍
I just got an xmaxx, took it out today for the first drive other than infront of the house. The thing is a beast,i have the perfect pass servo in it and on dirt it was so easy to drift for its size!
Kev my brother you bring a LOT of JOY to the world, thank you! Congrats on all of your well deserved success 🎉😊
Cen hinge pins are a 100% must do on the xmaxx as well my brother
That xmaxx got absolutely destroyed! I don’t know how people get mad at this, it was so epic and entertaining 😂
