- Hello design champs! Today I went through four of your logo designs. I didn't make very significant changes to any of them, all were changed very subtly. It's so fun to see what you guys are working on! I'm not sure if all of my redesigns were a good direction but hopefully, each designer can take at least one thing as an idea for their logo. I think the idea you had for the stockd logo was good, but the original design probably works better as an app icon
Thing is that if logo can be used inside of an app as she showed, it would be so much better overall

@@khurum7479 yeah he makes the whole screen white (maybe zooms in and crops for video purposes). threw me off too...and maybe he has better shortcuts for line fixes

it's so weird that some guy who does logos on the internet brings so much joy ..I can relate, understand and laugh at his jokes :D He's also really creative!!

I really liked all the logos before seeing your changes, but somehow you made every single one of them better. Your design senses are incredibly interesting to watch as they take form.

Love the videos. I liked the idea of having the leaves show stocking concept. Having one of them gray or half gray in the logo would be the cherry on top.
This! He could even then scrunch them together, therefore making it look like they are together/"stockd".
Zachary Conti that’s a fun idea. You know how when something is stocked on a shelf you could have them stocked front to back showing a different perspective. Lots of options.

I would love if you made a kind of scale, of different logos so:
a beginner design
an intermediate design
and a professional design.
that way there would be a little for everybody! :)

Marie Elise in design you can’t really be too sensitive because critiques are used to help designers get better not to be mean.
Marie Elise I do agree, but everyone starts somewhere! And I don't think that just because you're a beginner, does not mean you idea/design is bad.
Especially if your design is chosen for a video : )
Nana Wordie boom boom. If you submit your logo, and then complain about his critiquing the logo, then wtf are you doing submitting your logo? I agree. Nobody should be offended at all.

You always make these logos better, but when you pick ones that need more work, I feel like it really shows your skills!
Maybe you can focus on those the most, but have 1-2 quick ones at the end that don't need much change :)
The SimsDirect arrow and colors are too much like Amazon.
I can see where you feel that way, but the fact that the arrow isn’t interacting with the typography doesn’t make it that close for me. Also, there’s isn’t much emphasis on the arrow, so I feel like it’s a good enough distance away from the Amazon. But that’s my opinion.
Same here, Color (orange) and a "smiling" arrow..
I would say that would actually benefit him to remind people of amazon.

I loved the S idea with the Stocked logo, it maybe could’ve been reconfigured to translate better and more clearly as an “S” which is why I still, overall, preferred the original :)

I really enjoy the subtle changes. The bigger flaws are easier to spot, sometimes even for a non-designer like me.
When you make small changes, these are things I would have never thought about, which makes it really interesting to watch!
First off, u got mad design skills. Superb off-the-cuff improvements in a short time (though time is tough to tell in an edited video).
The attempts at humor, though, seem forced. Then again, I'm an old dude, a plant manager in the Midwest w/ a masters degree in engineering so I'm waaaaaaaaaay outside your target audience. Regardless, our company is going through a logo redesign and your channel is great, easy-to-follow crash-course on quality design. You've helped train my eye along with some other bloggers, like The Futur Academy. So thanks a million.

I personally love seeing the subtle differences making a huge impact, it is that eye for detail that makes your videos so great.
Love you videos, definitely choose logos that need more redesign. I felt like most of these looked great before

The video w/ subtle chanches is super fine to me. Because your adjustments plus commentary makes me learn so much and it helps me to not make the same mistakes you correct.
But doesn't mean that videos w full logo changes aren't interesting as well.

personally, i don’t have problems with it when you make minimal changes to logos! i feel like when you point out the details it reminds us to pay attention to the little things in our designs, + it also feels more like a critique than a total redo, which is, imo, much more constructive. if you’re concerned about it feeling like a cop out (which you shouldn’t! you don’t need to do a massive overhaul of every logo to express something important with all of them), maybe throw a range in there- a couple that don’t need tons of help and a couple that need a bit more, that way it’s a little balanced!

I think I'll try to find a balance for the next episodes between some that need more work and some that need more minimal adjustments : ) I agree though - I think most of good design is like the last 10% - 15% of the details, so I think it can be even more beneficial sometimes : D

I love how your change to the Homepage H also had a feeling of being a Bed, with a taller Headboard and a shorter Footboard ~ Really ties in the "home" Feeling!! another Great Vid Zimri!!

The hurricane icone doesn't naturally communicate the letter 'V' to me. It needs some more tweaking!
right. more curve to it. and why are people calling it a hurricane when it's a tornado shape?
@makesmefeellikeatalltree Yes, it needs something to make the brain to interpret it as a 'V' also. Maybe a dividing kinda swirl that goes down in the middle. I just repeated what he called it. And I'm swedish, so I didn't reflect so much on the word. But a hurricane essentialy works the same way though, but at a much larger scale!
I would love to see (not in a sadistic way) Zim take on like, what he considers the most challenging logo redesigns for YGR 30! it would be like a cool milestone. ♥

I loved this! Personally I like seeing you make small realistic improvements on already good logos more than making big changes to less professional logos.

The Colibri one is very cool, quite nice idea and simplified form, just needed a bit of work on those vector edges but overall nice work and nice corrections as well Mr. Goose!

I prefer the small changes, actually! You're staying more true to the original concept this way.
