How you put that mountain into an illustrated logo so easily changes is so good. Such a simple design technique that adds character. I'll defo be incorporating this into my work!
The first iteration of your Netflix redesign is really cool 👏6:50. Here is my take on minimalism: I think it depends on how you look at logos. Some recent logos can have a lot of personality while still being minimalist. The Netflix logo really makes you feel like you're sitting in a movie theater watching a giant curved screen. However, there are also old logos (coca cola) or more recent ones (the 70s being my favorite period) that can stand the test of time. It's all about being smart and having a good concept.
It's nice to see a video that takes current logos and matches them to a previous decade's aesthetic. It puts the actual design challenge in focus. I feel the usual old logo to modern aesthetic pipeline often gets sidetracked by the "but better" clickbait incentive.
I like modern logos because they're simple yet very recognised, the power of social media. Of course older logos had to communicate a lot because it was one of the only ways to advertise. But modern logos don't need the logo to speak out that much, they can have social media campaigns.
@@nxtlgc Okay but it would've taken like less than two seconds to make a thumbnail in Photoshop or something. He literally has all the assets he would need generating it is pointless and looks worse
@@willpatersondesign I’m self taught mostly. Got an associates degree at a community college so when I design, it’s for fun. I don’t have enough confidence to take in clients yet. But when I play around, this is the type of stuff I try to do. I feel like it helps me problem solve. Plus I like to see how pros think about things. So these are fun for me and I can learn as well!
@@deltacreaters Right? I love them but I do feel some of the personality is missed from the current one. For example why put a mountain instead of the sun in sprite.
Sprite is NOT lemonade. I know Brits call lemon-lime soda "lemonade", but no. It is just wrong for an American soda. I tuned out the design work because it is just too aggravating to look at.
My channel revolves around Netflix content. I wanted to ask if you would allow me to use the Netflix portion of this video and cut it down for a short. I'd make sure to credit your channel in the description and post a link back to your channel.
Hope you enjoyed the video! What logos would you like me to transform next?

I want the Netflix one NOW!
"thinking machines" was a pulp SF word for computers. I think the apple logo could have done with old timey words for the products.
The Sprite badge logo reminded me so much of the Chuck Taylor All-Stars badge
loved the sprite design! but would have been cool to see it on a bottle, since I don't think aluminum cans were around in the 1920s
omg the netflix one is SO COOL !!!
Beer and soft drinks started being canned in the mid 30s, according to the old Google machine.
I would love to see a video from you that transformes logos in the style of 2040. That sounds like an interesting challenge! 🎉
5:45 strong Nespresso vibes 😂
All that talk about making the sprite logo balanced and the two drops are not level or evenly spaced.
In the final it is :)
Damn what a hater
3:36 i dont remember sprite being lemonade
Wonderful ! I’d love to see it with every decade!
This Series is best ever we want more like this

So much entertained to watch, thanks for share your work.

You made the Apple logo look like a fancy tonic water company

That 1920s Apple Logo would also work if it had a Hogwarts branch
Awesome video 👏🏼 You always impress 💪🏼
I appreciate that!
Why did you use A.I. for the thumbnail? Out of curiosity
@@g1ngerbred723 It's clear, good and defines the video correctly 🤷 there's no problem and using AI is not just generating the image but editing it too

@@g1ngerbred723 It doesn't? It looks good and he did editing 💀 who tf are you to even judge what he does with his content
Using ai as a tool is not the issue people largely have with it besides it is of sprite cans...it isn't stealing from an artist per say here

Love your work! The title of the video should not have an apostrophe in it, though.
the original name for sprite is bc of the Coca-Cola Sprite (aka a pixie/fairy) that was the mascot for sprite :)

When you import your iPad text into Illustrator, is it either a vector or a raster?
If it's 'Made in the USA', then you have to drop the 'U' in flavoring.
