Hello design champs! Today I went through four of your logo designs. I made a variety of large changes and small changes to them. It's so fun to see what you guys are working on! I'm not sure if all of my redesigns were a good direction, but hopefully, each designer can take at least one thing as an idea for their logo. Thanks for being here guys! Both of the tea logos were really amazing. They just conveyed different feelings, I'd say. The redesign looks like a logo you would see on an actual drink/tea/coffee company but the original is best for its intended purpose.

For Steeped, just adding a tea bag hanging from the mug would show it's tea without changing the whole style of the logo! Great job Marcel!

Mountaintop trick: use the anchor point tool, and just click the point and both handles go away

@@zimrimayfield Protip, if you're using the pen tool you can hold option (alt on PC) to temporarily switch to the anchor point tool. That's going to be your real time-saver!

Interesting i never thought mine (WMC) was too busy, but i see what you saying, not 100% sold on the change to the C/M boundary that looks strange, but i have been looking at the other version for several years... thanks for looking at it.
Hey Joseph! For your particular business, a logo doesn't matter too much, I'm sure that's why you've been looking at things for several years. If you do highly customized business B2B, you could use pretty much anything. For a different kind of business that had to be iconic and seen by many customers and had lots of competition and needed to differentiate itself, you might consider changing it or simplifying it : ) I like your current logo and think it works for what you do, wouldn't worry about it man : D Hope you have an awesome day!
As a neutral party, I think the transition from C to M makes the whole "WMC" typography look like a machine/robot arm. Like the ones you see in automated industry lines that manufacture the kind of stuff I'm assuming you guys might make.
@@ronaldinho4eva1 That redesigned C isn't 100% accurate though. It's off just enough to annoy my eyes.
Your redesign of the Papercraft logo is brilliant! But I would probably change the font for the smaller "papercraft" though. It's a bit less readable in this size because of the stretched font and longer word. Maybe there is a non stretched version of the font, and you can just space it?
video idea: take all the thumbed down logos from your polls in the “redesigning your submitted logo videos” and you should redesign them again to see if you do better in the polls a second time 🤷🏻♀️

Actually there is a way to move the two handles simultaneously. While selecting the anchor point press S (scale command) then hold the left mouse button anywhere on the artboard and drag left and right to move the handles.
What I love about your videos is that maybe I don't always agree with the changes u do, but it sure gives me another perspective of an already finished work, and that's amazing because it really helps to achieve a more objective design look! Thank you so much for your work Zimri, your videos are always a priority in my everyday :-)

To get rid of anchor point angle thingies:
Shift-C to get Anchor Point Tool, click once on vertex with anchor point handles to reset them to sharp.

To reset curve handles you go in with the curvature tool (Shift + C) and just click on the anchor point :)

the first one is so funny!! the name ("Bechler") and the fact they had designed a teacup is so hilarious to me since I'm German!! "Becher" is a special form of "cup" and while we necessarily wouldn't drink tea from a "Becher", the connection is definitely there haha!!

Hi Zimri. I'm not sure if you get the answer already. Holding "alt" while Anchor Point Tool" (Shift+C) and click on smooth point you will convert it into sharp corner (without handles).

Zimri! If you click a point and hold Command + S (for scale) both handles will move at the same time! I hated that problem until a Google search revealed it to me!

To remove the handles from any point use the Anchor Point Tool (Shift + C on Windows,) just single click the point and they should be gone.
You can also use the Anchor Point Tool to add handles to any point by clicking the point and dragging.
6:16 the Anchor point tool ( Shift+C) and click the anchor point, turns is into a hard angled shape

With the NODE tool selected holding ALT you can make a rectangular corner from a round corner or that's how affinity designer works but its the same on illustrator
answer to your question at 6:12 is shift+c and click on the desired anchor point with this tool just once. it's the anchor point tool (under the pen tool drop down menu).
6:13 on pen tool, hold alt and click on the anchor point from which you want to remove both the handles. Thank me later :P

They definitely look like eyes on the Steeped logo. I really like the modern look and I think it works. Sometimes the submitted logos don’t need to change!
Zimri you killed it with the Kami Papercraft logo. Looks super dope and appropriate.
This is amazing content, as someone who is just learning on the process of logo design, seeing different perspectives from the subscriber and the editor is very interesting.
To bring both handles in at the same time go to your anchor point tool (shift + c I think) and click the point.
I don't know if you've figured it out already by now, but if you want both handles on a point to remove at the same time, you click the anchor with the direct selection tool, then at the top left of the screen, there's a little are right under the house icon that says Anchor Point | Convert. You click the first icon in that convert area and both handles on the anchor point will remove.
(I use the "Typography" workspace, so that's where that button shows for me.) If you're in the "Essentials" workspace, the menu I'm talking about shows on the right side of the screen by default.

To make both sides of the handles come in at the same time, use the pen tool and hold alt then click the point. It will make the curve pointy with one click.
I’m pretty sure the M in the Mustafa Yousif was his initials M and Y. The logo looks better with what oh did but you completely got rid of a really clever element

Alt - Click with the pen tool. The cursor will change to a delta symbol when hovering over the anchor point.

@Zimri ma men, to delete all anchor handles on specific anchor, use Anchor Point Tool (Shift+C). Its the one that looks like a sharp angle, and just click once on the anchor you wish to eradicate the handles from. Double back snap clap for me ;)

I think that tea design of him is better.
Reset the anchor handles by using the pen tool and hold the alt key (option key on a mac) and simply clicking the anchor. This will remove the handles completely making your point sharp.
At 6:10 >> The way to make both sides of the angles comming at the same time : with pen tool, press Alt when you click on points. Very usefull indeed :D

If you want to move both side of the anchorpoint handles, first select the node with the direct selection tool, then press "S" to use scale tool, now you only have to move one of the handle and the another one would do the same like a mirror
