I will add something else that works for me. If the team has their own plan and don't listen to me, I try to understand them and follow. Better to do something less optimal together than split.
this is the best approach, but sadly in europe with the clash of different nationalities, you get 4 different plans, no matter what you do you will be split 50% of the matches. you just have to hope that the other team mentally cracks beneath all the racism before yours does. in europe bronze is literally decided by "who's team manages to not insult the others for longer, that team wins

Cursed Hollow: take siege at min 1
Sky temple: take siege/bruiser at min 1 (depends on ur comp)
Volskaya: take canon at min 1, take healing if possible, take camp just before (!!!) obj is up
...you see a pattern here. Camps can create space for a push or taking an objective
@@frank6706 actually in cursed hollow is at min 2:00 aprox. The idea is get the camp seconds before the obj and not too early
Going into this season I was plat 3 in HL and plat 5 in TL. Went 6-4 in placements and landed in Diamond 4. 3 years of grinding up from silver and it finally went my way 🤣 .
I will say your videos helped me climb a lot faster. Lots of anub, varian, and etc. Keep up the good content!
I was plat 2 went 8-2 and now I’m silver. That mmr tax for taking a few seasons off is no joke
I like the don't judge or react after someone's mistakes .
A tip that has proven useful for me: when I see ppl starting to complain about other players, without constructive criticism (such as saying "gg healer"), I type "mute the toxic", and sometimes I even mute those complainers for myself too. Then I don't get distracted with pointless discussions and can focus on the actual game.
"Don't ever trash talk people" That is a tip by itself. Just do this and things will go smoother.
unless you play in europe. 80% of the games are every man for himself here, half of the time you can't even communicate because all you get back is cyrillic letters or some turkish sentences. i speak 3 languages, but that is just not enough in europe for adequate solo queue communication.
also the strategies from people are completely different based on their nationality, its really interesting to see.

Another way I found effective is "Vall, at 1:00 could you get our seige? I'll help you with bruisers there after." Instead of Demanding an order. A lot of people have strong Egos and biting the bullet, playing into their mindset, actually saves games.
I've had a few games where players are just rude in the beginning, but as soon as they get a kill or do something great, I commend them for it and make them feel great. It almost always turns out well for me. Just a little side note. Take it or leave it, I"m sure NotParadox already knows this ha, but for ne1 else out there.
I find so many trolls in Bronze that just don't care if they win or lose (or worse, derive fun from ruining others games), that although I agree with most of your advice, I find that it's not truly pertinent because there are just too many of them. Having even 1 troll on your team is enough to cause a loss. Mid to low silver, this dissipates some. I try to lead and make suggestions "valla, please grab camps at 1:00", but inevitably they do WTF they want and ignore me, or worse, become toxic immediately and start name calling. It almost seems impossible to solo out of Bronze. My advice to those trying to rank up is to not solo. Choose 1-2 friends that you play well with and play with them. This lowers the chances of a troll, while gaining two teammates that are on the same page as you.
I do this a lot, but in Gold and lower this doesn't work out most of the time :(
People forget the plan and don't react even if I remind them in time.
I remember one specific game, with this conversation (I think it was on sky temple):
Me: "Valla and Malf, pls go for bot camp at 2.30.
Then we should all go for top temple."
Valla: "Okay, we will do."
2.35 no camp started, yet...
Me: "Valla, camp, pls. :)"
2.50 no camp started, yet...
Me: "Top temple pls!"
3.00 two people fighting mid, three people fighting top.
This can be a bit frustrating sometimes.

Great advice overall, just doesn’t work if you always get monkeys in your team that don’t soak or follow calls.
I’m by far not the best player, mid to high plat at best, but I’m hard stuck in gold now and even lose more points.
Guess it’s already time again to just play unranked or quit the game until blizzard finally decides to reset the mmr.
After your Johanna video, I had 75% winrate in TL last season, and now I won 3/3 games on her in new Storm League. Just wave clearing and double soaking if my team is brawling all game long. But in my league (Silver) I have to put up with such foul teammates that I just disable chat and its better. I cannot coordinate anything with these people, but after third game, my teammates were platinums last season (I inspected them during hero picks), so I hope my placement matches will land me substantially higher than last season finish (silver 4).

I have a question. Most seasons I go 7 wins and 3 losses average at the 10 placements. This season I’m 2 wins 9 losses. I’ll admit there were a few games I played off and I’ll take learning from the games(replays etc), but storm league feels really wonky right now, as I seem to be getting more potato team mates than the other team in Gold rank really bad. What should I do when no one listens and won’t properly fill their roll. I am stopped playing storm league. The 16% win rate is the worst I have ever had all the way from preseason beta to now. This is just bad.
You can't control other players. Get that out of your head. Worry about you and how you play. Learn to work around or with uncooperative teammates.
Don't worry about winrates. Perhaps you are accidentally being placed with players that are better than you. It will even out as you drop down in Ranks if that is what you deserve. Eventually you will find matches where you are closer matched and can win some.
on the first pick I'd rather go "valla, could you do siege camp at 1:00?" and then a "ty" if she listens. Here it sounds more like an order, I totally get what the snarky response comes from (though I wouldn't do it)
In speaking, the "order" method tends to get more results. It comes across as authoritative and decisive. Like you know what you are talking about. Notice he also follows up with "Then I'll come help do Bruisers". Without sounding like some wishywashy chump, he has laid out a plan, showed a command, and a reward if the command is followed.
@@drb4074 If I choose to be decisive I still open up with something more warm. Valla could've easily ignored the siege camp all game out of spite on that game.
I would've gone "Coud you do siege camp at 1?" - "we'll go do bruiser after"
and even then I'm still not sure because it feels like it doesn't allow flexibility, what if they are 4 man pushing bot? we won't do bruiser after
they dont do mercs. they report their teammates for soaking or doing mercs. they 5 man push mid until they are so far behind on exp its impossible to save the game.
I see a lot ppl not select any role for team mates to know what you can pick in rank - storm league i hope this video help them a lot :D well gl&hf all

Some thoughts about the topic: Giving "free coaching lessons" to other people while playing is a very kind move. But some people aren´t happy to get thaught without asked before if they want to. To avoid such stress (yes, i talk about that toxic people and the bj-thing), i prefer to play with people that have already proved, that they are willing to learn, to discuss and don´t talk about nasty things. Everybody deserves respect.
As already mentioned in the video, a group of three players is a good basis to start of. To get more friends ingame, i try to work as a "talent scout". I`m looking for people with the same playstyle as i have - for example: more aggressive, more defensive, rather tactical and so on. I have found out, that the same playstyle has a big impact. It makes things much easier. I don`t search for masters or something like that. I want players in my friendlist in my ranks. After a random game I look at the numbers and make a analysis. Even in lost games I see players, they show great work with their proper way to communicate and their great ideas. This are "my" talents. I want them to have in my friend-list. Ok, the biggest problem often is to find some playtimes, where most friends are online. But this one is solvable. And sometimes, by the way, out of this actions grow real ingame friendships. What can better happen as that? :-)

Make sure you buy the :salt: emoji. Anytime someone starts whining and/or being a jerk, use that emoji and some of the emojis for their hero to clown them without stooping to their level. Dunno if it helps you climb but it sure feels good.
i believe very much in this. After all, you have to have a good pc and good mouse. It's like key of being good and being quick at anygame.

Bullshit. I finished Plat 1 previous season. With the Storm League start I played 4 placement games. It was the best play I ever did in hots. Drafting best heroes, communicating to the team, no bm, soaking, calling etc. It was 4 the most stupid loses in a row I ever had. The last game I saw I was matched with Plat 3 and it was gonna drop me further. This game is so random in terms of teammates you have to play with you can be the best GM ever and still suck in silver. Watch TS Kala playing in lower leagues. I ended up deleting hots until they introduce the personal performance system.
Many people play well, are well spirited and have a good morale while they are ahead in the game, while they are getting kills and objectives. But what happens once you are behind? How does one play from behind, with only two keeps, talent disadvantage, a huge level gap? What are your tips for those type of situations? When does one have to say fuck it we contest this objective a talent down. Fuck it we take a chance here and try to get a pick even though we are a man down. That would be an interesting video.
"anub is one of the strongest tanks" .... meanwhile its a coin flip for me. played two games as anub today. first one my team ignored whoever i cc'd when we got a potential pick. we lost horribly. second game they attacked whoever was stunned and we won like it was an easy AI game. i can't carry as anub. all i can do is hope.
not sure if i agree with the talking part, because that rarely ever works. people get triggered a lot lately, when someone assumes that they have a better plan than them. talking with them usually backfires for me, because they start talking shit instead of playing and that annoys me and kills my concentration, so i start playing worse. best is disabling chat. screw communication.
agree with the rest though. picking the correct roles when queueing as a group can change the game. engages are way easier, when your group can do it, instead of waiting for the random tank to engage.
If they don't follow-up on the tank engages, it doesn't matter if you're playing anub, diablo or you hit the perfect Mosh. I really like playing tanks and Anub would be my 2nd favorite, 3rd if the enemy team is strong on melee and I can pick Arthas.
yeah a tank cant do anything without follow up. that's why i usually pick bruisers instead when queueing alone. having cc and the potential to win 1v1s is worth a lot in situations like that. it might be riskier, but in lower MMR games it works better imo (if you're actually better than the MMR in which you're playing. if not, you'll feed endlessly)

sonya, artanis, chen, maltael, thrall can do bruisers very easy and with good sustain but the problem is sometimes they need a specific build to do that and you like or not it afects to the team comp. A lot of hero with good sustain and decent damage can do any camps, the real problem happens when if that investiment of resources like time, hp, mana worth or not, try looking at that first then you decide with some of my examples, for me they have the balance of "jungle/carry"
Biggest tip I know that notparadox didn't say anything about (I'm sure it's different from him): wait for a few days, preferably until the weekend after a new season, that filters out a lot of the immature people as they have already placed by then.
You can't do tip #1 on korea server. Your teammates will intentionally start feeding if you try to shotcall.

to rank quicly you need to find camps quicky. I can't every match takes me 800 seconds or more

I only use favourites for easy to find most popular heroes for bans.

I've learned that learning to play high winrate heroes can be counter productive. Instead find heroes you like to play and play well and practise to make those heroes thrive
If I'm not mistaken he says to look at your personal high win-rate heroes and to some extend it is important to at least be aware which heroes you do well with and which you don't. You can love a hero to death but it might not mix with either you or those you play with, at which point knowing that can be helpful so you can prioritise between ranking up or practising more. (And maybe taking that practice to unranked.) There might be a hero you're somewhat indifferent to but seem to have a real talent for and that hero might grow onto you by just being more confident with them, especially when filling since it's unlikely you are too invested in your off-roles.
One of my friends is a Genji main, but sat at a ~30% winrate with over 150 games. He vented to me about dropping ranks and I saw his almost Genji-only mostly red history, went through his statistics and brought it up as nicely as I could. He eventually (after a lot of team-blaming) said he'd give other heroes a shot to see if he could get to the next rank before end of season. He never climbed so fast. Doesn't mean he's forever benched his Genji, but he's taken it to unranked until he can figure out where, when and how. Two season later his HL seasonal Genji winrate was 45%, still not great but much better than before.
It's definitely no be all and end all, because other factors are important that a statistic can't easily show. (Like for example my Valeera winrate is above 55% but it'd drop fast if I started blindly picking her since 1. Little utility, 2. Easily countered.) But sometimes loving a hero can slightly blind you to your overall effectiveness, especially if you can make plays delivering those feel good vibes. (Like me with Orphea, RIP.)

Well, the prob is, I seem to have way stronger opponents than you showed in this vid. I play on gold 2 EU and my enemies always counter our camps with their own camp. Camp VS. Camp is a win/win or lose/lose situation. Noone gets distracted and the camps don't push. How can I handle this?

I understand that you should be playing higher winrate heroes and setting them as your mains, but wouldn't it be better to focus on those you simply are better with instead? E.g. if my personal best ranged DPS are Sylvanas and Raynor, and the current top meta picks are Valla and Tychus, I'm pretty sure I would be getting better results with the former rather than the latter.

It also depends on the capabilities of a said hero. In the current meta you still often see duo-heavys like a tank + bruiser, 2 tanks, 2 bruisers or even tank + bruiser + azmo. While Raynor and Sylv are generally not worse or something than Tychus for instance, Tychus has a way easier time to reduce their bulk-advantage than Raynor or Sylv
Also, if the champs have higher winrate with you, in most cases means you do better with them, even if you don't "like" them that much
it seems that when "seeded" it drops you 1 tier. I was in gold last season and it dropped me well into silver, and mostly into leaver teams. so i guess its an uphill battle.

I was plat 2 last season. Became d2 after placements.
My friend and I played our 10 placement games together. So we had the same win rate. I got silver with 8wins 10 losses and he got placed in Diamond with the same Win/Loss. Haven't tested to see if we can play together but, as far as I am aware, we cannot.

I keep getting allies that 1v5 and stagger deaths...
That is so annoying. People head to a 4v5 team fight to help, arrive late, still go in to maybe get some counter kill and just die too.
Should mean that you are at a Rank where your enemy has players that 1v5 and stagger deaths as well. Why aren't YOU punishing that? Or maybe you aren't that good?
You are too late i was silver 1 now bronze 3 threw 4 w feeders and leavers lost 2 :D (we were feeding cuz we were flaming each other) any tips on how to get calm team mates that dont rage at 1 death or dont get healed enough
when the new season started i played and won 4 of my placement games, took a break thinking it was too good to be true, went on to loose the following six games in a row thanks to getting matched with:
1: russian/EEU players who would not communicate with me and only used cyrillic
2: a leaver in 2 games who was fed up with the team (and i didn't blame them honestly)
3: people not responding to any calls and feeding all game
out of the 6 matches i lost, i got MVP 4 times, and made the score card 5 times in total, i don't think i could have helped the team any more than i did short of maybe one game where i died by body checking a bush late game which led to the loss as i was the only wave clear, i started with getting matched with a few people in plat ranks, after a few losses that dropped to gold, then once my placements were done i am ranked silver 1, elo hell exists, and i reside there likely never to leave all thanks to being matched with people who don't know how to play, who don't want to learn how to play and who are either incapable of communicating or flat out refuse to do so.
Realistically, just keep trying and never be the flamer or leaver or instigator yourself. Statistically speaking, the enemy team is as likely as your team to get feeders, throwers, etc as your team is, UNLESS you are the one causing it (that's a different issue all on its own). So long as you work to play as best as you can and control all that you can, you should climb.
You don't need tips on that. you need tips on how to be a better player. Which you are not. So start by asking the right questions.
Followed this, i'm 2-7 right now. Why? Because i get no fucking teammates. Everyone wants to play dps., even if they have the thingy saying that they want to heal.
I'm trying out anub, anyone knows the best current build he has?
beetle build is surprisingly good, they are blocking a loads of skillshots, but im not sure if its the best. Give it a go in QM before ranked.
I tried w build the other day and I survived a lot of burst man. It was crazy. Plus you get that 13 where the cool down is reduced by 1 second when you take damage. You can spam w and not die.
Once youre in Bronze-Silver... you got so much Trash player, you never get up again😄
Tip 4: people tend to prepick and go afk. The game then randomly selects a hero for them if they don't come back, making you lose. Tip 5: inconsistency is impossible. You will stomp one game and get stomped in the next one (in Gold/Plat at least). Tip 6: do yourself a favor and uninstall.
That moment when NotParadox states he is maining the same 2 heroes as you.
Remember peeps, deaths and overall K/D/A aren't as important as that delicious objective (on most maps). I've had plenty of games where everyone goes deep negative, but we won because the team could hold off the enemy long enough to cap/turn-in the objective.
Don't feed, but don't worry too much about it, just be in the right place at the right time.
Since the XP nerfs and changes, the truth is that nothing matters prior to about 16 minutes. Unless you literally throw the game (which does happen) and lose in 10.
That's why "feeding" doesn't matter. Doesn't matter if your team loses objectives. Doesn't matter if your team soaks terribly or ignores it completely. Doesn't matter if you double kills on enemies. Doesn't matter. None of it. At. All.
After about 16 minutes though, when levels are getting close to 20 and death timers are passing 50 seconds. That's where the match is won or lost. That's what the Bads wanted, and it's what they got. They can play Bad all match, but win one lucky teamfight or obj late and they might win.
i won 9 out of 10 from my placement games. 5 of these 9 games i was mvp. and i got the fukcing silverrank. totally broken rank system....
Hahahaha it was me one month ago. I was in sylver 4. Now i am almost platinum. How I achived that? Well I play like a diamond but I was stuck in sylver. I just made friends who I saw they play well and we rank together. Just that, rank with people who know how to play and you will win 9 out of 10. Bro rank alone its a waste of time. 3 or more its a good number for not losing matches. And my last recommendation is to be patient and dont rank alone. I am a peruvian sorry if I did some grammar mistakes. I hope u have catched the idea. C u bro!
I forgot to say that blizz wont put you in diamond or better just for win the ten matches. U have to achive that winning many games. Thats how ranked works.

1:23 tipical valla "player", i dont see what was her point to be there, away from her team going almost a 1v5, ignoring that kind of behaviour without saying nothing is the worst thing you or the rest of your team can do, this is why this game is going to the trash, everyone do whatever they want and if someone gives any opinion of their gameplay is a good reason to being reported and muted, some "special" players should learn that they are playing an MMO team based game, if they dont want to play with the team, they better go away to VS AI where they belong
