Finally there is someone although not from India to understand the nuances of Ilayaraja's composition. Thank you for analysing the Raja's greatness in his composition and educating music world. This also reflects Raja's music transcends regional and language boundries. It also proves that his genius has the potential to infuse peace in everyone's mind no matter where he live or who he or she is. Thank you Madam

Love the way you interpret and appreciate Ilayaraja compositions. FYI this song was composed for a romantic scenario involving two "Tamil street folk musicians" with an innocent man explaining to his blind lover what the world around actually looks like. Back in the day, such scores for "street folk musicians" were very stereotypical and all composers either oversimplified it or overcomplicated it with too many modern elements. Ilayaraja always being Ilayaraja made this masterpiece that too for a movie of considerably low production value. AND THEN to think of it from the perspective you have just presented has elevated my respect for this song way more than it used to be. The least I could was to hit subscribe!

I don’t know music like you do. I just knew this song was so unique, here in the song- the lover tells her love I don’t want you to blind yourself because I am blind be my eyes and express the colors so that I understand them. The man describes the colors through a song- this song. But the minor key for me was the reason why I like it so much. Something that would make me sad actually is so uplifting. When you got teary eyed even I did. I don’t know why. Please do more.

More the closer we looks we gain more understanding. Each of his signature song are symphony grade quality with utter most technical disciple followed.

There is another song which shows the effect of hundreds of butterflies flowing. It is really stunning to hear the second interlude of that song. The song name is "Oh.. I sing as an amateur singer, carry it in my breath and imagination and appreciation but none so greater than to hear you a great pianist knowledgeably connecting western and eastern compositions and the convergence, master class Lydia, its a great educational wonderful journey of a kind, you bet 👋💐🤗

When the breeze comes and touches
Whatever the colour of the mind
    When Monday comes and dries
    Remember what color
    Come and go
    According to the thoughts
I also said that there is a truth
    Ponnamma symbol dear
When the breeze comes and touches
Whatever the colour of the mind
    When Monday comes and dries
    Remember what colour
    Without telling anyone
    The flowers also smell
    Without relationship
    The mind speaks something
    Without telling anyone
    Kuilallam Dena sings
    Without anything
    Stream stream
    This world is like that
    Running it running
    This period is like that
The colours that come to mind
When the breeze comes and touches
Whatever the colour of the mind
    When moisture falls
    Everything sprouts on the ground
There is something chilling all over the body
    Desires swing
    Wandering wave bole
Put all the beauty in the sphere
    Goothamma by that music
Talk about rubbing salt in my wounds - d'oh!
    Love does not come
When the breeze comes and touches
Whatever the colour of the mind
    When Monday comes and dries
    Remember what color
    Come and go
    According to the thoughts
    What is what really exists?
    What are the colours?
When the breeze comes and touches
Whatever the colour of the mind
    When Monday comes and dries
    Remember what color

refreshingly analytical and insightful , and so much humility. May god bless you. Liked your videos. I begin to understand and appreciate western classical a bit better. Great on your part to understanding and identifying ragas. May be some day u will upload a Carnatic classic rendition and we shall all cheer. Do post more analysis on classical compositions, helps learning.

So it implies.. you getting attracted to a form of music a lot then it implies what is running in your sub consciousness.. I think many people have so many dreams and they have inability to achieve that strong desire which makes this song a ever green one
