This video covers how to download and install the Community Patcher for Goldeneye 007 XBLA.
The patcher will update regular so use it once a week or whenever there is news of new fixes.

Oh God this is exactly what I was hoping for, a community to fix this game up to finished status and add stuff like online multiplayer, to everyone that works on stuff like this for any game out there, I love you guys.

So does the online multiplayer work, so that you don't have to use the local multiplayer screen sharing workaround?

Slight update with V6. You now just copy or place the "CEUpdate" folder in your "Bean" game folder. Then open the CEUpdate folder and click on the updater. This worked for me whereas cutting and pasting the files from CEUpdate straight into Bean folder kept giving me the "oldFile for read ERROR$" message.
I don't have the Bean folder.
Besides where do I keep the Goldeneye rom/iso?
This is correct. I had to copy the CEupdate folder into the Bean directory and then I could run it successfully. If you copy the files into the bean directory it will not work in v6 of the CE.

Found the solution - place the "CE Update" inside the "Bean" folder and then launch the .bat file, it will update the game and create defaultCE.xex.

any news on updates? theres still a good couple of "little" issues in the game
So what did this patch fix exactly? I still don't get the original N64 bond theme song when you look at your watch. When you start to look at your watch it looks like you are still wearing your snow coat. The briefing files screen doesn't have any music! Maybe because I'm using the Steam Deck?
this patched version still has the music cut out halfway through the level and when you complete the level it just exits the emulator automatically like it did before. These were the 2 glaring things to be looked at really
I downloaded this patch and now I have a two second sound delay in the game. Does anyone else have this problem?
My antivirus software made this simple installation a living hell all because it doesn't like the name "curl". If an exe file has a certain name my antivirus doesn't like then it treats it as a threat and takes over. It has done it to me numerous times with Steam games. Anyways, appreciate the vid, def happy to finally be playing this masterpiece once more.

Extremely buggy. Cool graphics but the audio randomly stops working while in game or navigating on your watch. The first mission at the tower on the dam sometimes doesn’t have stairs. I played to the surface mission and then my game crashed.
Does anyone know how to actually use the current (V6) community updater? I used to have the V5 version, and it worked just fine, but V6 isn't at all. I extracted all the files to my Bean folder, ran the bat file and everything, but the defaultCE.xex didn't show up. I'm kind of gutted I deleted my previous defaultCE.xex file in anticipation of getting the new update going. Any ideas on what's wrong?

you must have a clean rom, upload updates and everything is fine ;) defaultCE will be 3 files, remove the first one and from this defaultCE, remove CE and the file starts as an updated game

Is there a way of switching off the old gfx mode? keep hitting it and people are getting annoyed when playing local multiplayer
Does anyone have the link to the first step original guide video that explains how to download and install Xenia?
In the version I am using (Xenia_canary nov 8 2021) a small part of the screen is missing in fullscreen mode, and I don't know how to compile.
Tried Xenia (version June 2 2021) no fullscreen bug, but music stop at mid level (although I am using community patch v6...).
The latest Xenia master version runs perfectly, but I don't know how to use mousehook with it, neither how to compile :(
Not sure this still works as of v6 :(

I seem to have to "cheat select mission" mission option missing. It runs perfectly but that part is missing. Any clue?
Hiya mate. The cheats need to be unlocked through gameplay. Have you unlocked it?

@@JamesKing-wt9qr Thats all good mate. I have a seperate video showing how to download my 100% save file if you want everything unlocked right away but I understand it is far more satisfying to unlock everything yourself.
The point of the old graphics mode was to look like the original old game. There was nothing wrong about it looking blurry because it was accurate. I see this as a regression now.
Do you know if the main menu and watch music will ever be fixed?
I am unsure buddy. It is an issue with the emulator on certain hardware. Some people report the problem and others do not. The emulators progress is steady so hopefully one day it will get fixed.

@@josh07698 Yes mate. You can run the community patcher on it too before moving the files over to a modded 360.
@@wondersgtagaming But are you sure about the watch music? I just watched a video of the game running on an xbox, and the watch music does not play. Maybe the devs never got to that yet back in 2007?

I downloaded the patch from n64vault.
When I started the Updating Process the Program closed and automatically deleted all the files that have been in the CommunityEditionUpdaterV4.zip and the zip file itself.

Loss for words here... No update folder.
Works perfect for me only issue I have is that the games music stops like halfway through the mission on every mission for whatever reason
I think that might be an emulation issue.

The original is very fondly remembered by many people. Most peoples first experience with multiplayer FPS games and also the 3rd best selling game on the N64. A real masterpiece of its time.

That seems to be a bug inherent to this version. Unfinished game is unfinished, you see.

1:42 you was talking about a beam folder what video was you explaining that its important to what's going on and its throwing me off because i can't find the video you were talking about that specifically.
The game crashes when you equip the grenade launcher. Weird how there's still so many satisfied commenters saying it works perfectly. All music also ceases to play few minutes into each level.
Hiya mate. The emulator has had several updates since this video. This has affected some hardware. Especially AMD graphics cards which can cause crashing and music not playing properly. Those comment would either be from before the bad update or those not using AMD graphics cards. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update....sooner rather than later.
Can confirm, using the most recent version of the Xenia emulator fixed this issue for me.

Quick Q: Do you have any issues with the music stopping part way thru levels? e.g. on the dam level it stops just after you follow the truck through the gates and never returns. Seems to be gone in the menu too. Effects for the guns, etc. work though. I updated to the community updated version.
Hiya mate. That is a known issue which affects users on certain hardware. (Usually AMD) Hopefully a fix gets made in the future.
does the patch contain the files or does it download it off the internet, also does this patch fixes the music because it stops playing the music also the game crush on me when using the throw granade
The sound of the game doesn't work well for me, it stops halfway through the screens...

I have v4 of the Community Edition, which says that it's fully updated every time I run it. However, the latest change log is from May 17 2021. Has the CE received any updates since then, or is something wrong with my version? I've tried it on a few fresh installs in different folders, with the same results.
Yes mate the community patcher has not had any updates for a while but is still worth checking every week or so.

Can you shoot through the glass panes in the doors after this update? In the orig Goldeneye it was a cool mechanic where one could shoot oblivious soldiers through the glass windows in the doors. Super useful in the Bunker 2 lever for example. In my XBLA remaster the glass is bulletproof, has this been corrected with the update?

@@wondersgtagaming I'd love to test, but my game version is not "Feyodorovna" but 4chan that the update does not work on. Feyodorovna does not work on my PC on the other hand :(

This doesn’t seem to work on 32 bit windows 7. Community patcher 6 bat file. I don’t have a 64 bit pc 😢

I tried the v4 version and tried to run it on xenia but then it said it was dump so I gave up on it till Christmas ( I have a low end PC and I hate it.)

I just downloaded this Goldeneye XBLA on my pc and the graphics looks really good, but whenever i play the next level the music stops after 10 or 20 seconds. Is that suppose to happen on this game? On the old Goldeneye project64 emulator the music doesn't stop it always plays through the whole level and it's just very quiet shooting the bad guys and i rather here music while playing.
Hello there. Yeah the music stopping from time to time is a known issue with the emulator. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update.

@@gamegirlcroft Hello there. Unfortunately not. This is an unreleased/leaked version of what was going to be an Xbox360 game so it will only work on an Xbox 360 emulator like Xenia or orginal hardware like a modded Xbox 360.

Hiya mate. Newer versions of Xenia tend to have issues with the Goldeneye XBLA. Use the older version linked in the description for the best results.

Haha I really have no clue lol. No bad language. Footage from a teen rated game originally from 1997. All 4 other guides have no issues lol. Its TH-cam so who knows. I have disputed the age restriction anyway but that can take some time.
@Shawn Yeah maybe. I requested a manual review though and it has been put to suitable for all. Funnily enough I have done around 150 short showcases for Jurassic World Evolution. Basically hatching dinosaurs. All are fine apart from the Oviraptor for some reason lol. Even a manual review didnt clear it lol. Also a save file guide for sonic 3 AIR got the 18+ treatment. Also now in manual review lol. No real rhyme or reason to it. However my RDO videos with me shooting NPC's heads off never get the 18+ lol. Crazy.
Must admit it's amazing that there is now a community around the game and setting it up. Any guidance about how to get it to work on an actual 360?
Edit have recently upgraded to a series x so will just pay for the developer mode and run an emulator that way.

Hiya mate. There is not actually a changelog that details everything but I think there is a twitter feed somewhere announcing the latest fixes.
The updater seems to generate a "changelogCE.txt" but I were unable to find that changelog before patching :)

Community updater v2 was working so was v3 but now i get this in the log and cant figure out how to sort it xenia 00001e94 failed to load dxcompiler.dll any ideas not sure where to add the files

The last update is from may, since then....nothing. Is the GE community edition dead meat?
Could possibly be. I do not know them on any personal level but I would still highly recommend using this on an unpatched game to get all of the exisiting fixes.
Nice video, thank you! But I have a little problem. When I extract the files, Updater doesn't extract, idk why but the first time I extracted it, it worked but in the middle of installation it closed and now I can't extract it in the folder. I can do it in Desktop but not in the Bean folder :c do you know why this is happening?
Hello there. The only thing I can suggest is to retry all the steps. I just redid it myself and it all works fine.
Update plz :c the games have some bugs need to fix.
The music and some of the hats on enemies are bugged. Otherwise, thank you for the patch!
Yo I followed your guides and got the game working with the community patch and it's all working great except for one little thing... Any idea why the pause menu music doesn't play? It just continues using the same music while in gameplay. I'm referring to this track specifically:

Edit: Yeah playing this more, a lot of the music save for the actual level themes seem to be missing, at least for me.
It's like that for the regular game as well. I guess it was never put in the game in the first place.

When i open the: defaultCE.xex a message just pops up in Xenia saying: Uh-oh! The guest has crashed Xenia has now paused itself A crash dump has been written into the log. How do I fix this???
