man, this video coming in CLUTCH... i literally just downloaded all the vita roms at like 500-600gb to setup on a complete retro handheld system im building out of an old SSF pc. i haven't done anything to set it up yet besides get the downloads but was going to test with it later. so this going to save a lot of time. thank you

@@milosmisic89 anyone who says the og psp was a ps2 portable clearly didn't own one was there standouts yes Tekken 5 Dr,Ridge racer,ratchet and clank and God of War got very close but those were ground up games the psp could never port something like MGS,FFX or even the original tekken 5

I am really looking forward to seeing how this works. I hope the future for this emulator gets better as quick as RPCS3 did. I have been waiting for a good working Vita Emulator and the design is pretty good. I am impressed.
I hope that development does not stop and there is going to be a visually more pleasing and for small displays suitable UI for Steam Deck, Steam OS or simply Windows coming. It would be great to finally get some sort of "Vita next gen" after all these years.
@@applepie3597 it went fairly well. I only care about 3 games on the Vita: Tales of Innocence R, Tales of Hearts R and Uncharted Golden Abyss, and so far it's been going fine, but I need to upgrade my computer to get better results.
I'd like to see on how low end/Older hardware we will be able to this emulator with. Testing on older systems in the same time-frame as the consoles release. Something like sandy bridge and a low end older graphics cards.
Just downloaded everything and got my game files. Going to be giving it a go on my 5800X/7900XTX system hopefully there's enough to emulate well. This will be my head start on getting this working until I see a handheld solution I'm confident with for setting thus up on.
No fucking way, my favorite console of all time finally gets an emulator. The best console with the worst treatment by the manufacturer of it. If Sony wasn't that cocky and made the right choices the Vita would've fought the Switch even. That console had so much power, the graphics it could output was from another world.
@@bulletpunch9317 Project has been dead for a while though. The new push for gaming handhelds in the industry plus vids like these renew the interest and make the developers actually feel appreciated. At the end of the day all these emulators are just passion projects
The first time I tried Asphalt Injection I was getting the shader flickering like you did. However I tried it again and specified in settings to launch full screen (also F11) and then everything displayed perfectly.
Vita3k won't find any of my zip folders, it just says no compatible content found for 1 game (even tough i have 3 games in the directory path). Can anyone please help with that, i have been struggling with emulation these past 4 days and can't find a solution with the vita3k, rpcs3, cemu, xemu, and xenia emulators but if someone can help me with the vita3k emulator that would be a good start. I am using a Lenovo Legion Go Handheld device with Windows 11 and Emudeck/emulationstation.
I found the solution, all you need to do is to first unzip your game folder, then you need to compress all the game files into a zip folder, finally you open vita3k, click on file, install with zip, go to the games folder where the new compressed zip file is, and then it should install the game. This trick worked for me, i still need to test with pkg files to see how i can get the emulator to install them. Also vita3k still won't show up in my emulationstation but that's just a minor inconvenience.

isnt NoNpDrm a plugin for vita? it doesnt actually dump anything does it? i have that installed on my vita and have archived my games in the app folder but they dont work in vita3k and they throw an error about NoNpDrm when trying to install them when i zip them. if/when it does work, your "legal" games copied over still dont work as their all encrypted and vita3k doesnt support them. going via the zip install method, for some reason the install fails, complaining about icons and other files being corrupt.

Make me to check my PS Vita lol Ninja Gaiden and Spiderman was my favorites but always hated how hard is listen to music and videos on PSVita and Adrenaline is fire but still hard to using as a multimedia console. On my original PSP (RIP) I watched all Death Note and a lot of movies while traveling. USB cable and done, PSVita needs to be pirated, Vita Shell and Filezilla lol.
so i got the emulator to run fine but the rom section area is where im getting confused as F, i downloaded a game but its not running or installing correctly
I personally don't really care about Vita emulation even if it was at 100% compatability because I have several hacked vitas, I prefer to play vita and psp on the vita hardware and if I really want video out then I have a pstv for that. However, I'm happy that Vita emulation is slowly becoming a thing because the more ways people can experience the vita library the better.
Thing with emulation is you can do upscaling on games. While that is basically doable on some games on the vita using plugins, the vita's power isn't that great. Plus you're capped at 944p (iirc) on the vita. The thing I'm looking forward to is if the emulator can run games better than it did on original hardware. Would love to see RE2 Revelations running fullspeed on the Vita emulation even if only for the memes.
Biggest problem I see here is Vita3k installs your games to a different emulated storage folder thus creating 2 copies of the games and taking up double the hdd space. I dont wanna delete my original VPK Files because that messes up my whole Launchbox Games Folder not having the Vita Games in the Folder... What is the workaround here? Since the Emulator requires its Specific Vita Intallation Folder structure to run the games having the VPKs is worthless after the install is complete. You cant just point the install directory to your launchbox games folder PSVita folder because Launchbox isnt going to recognize the folder names anymore... Uhg... Guess there is not yet a logical way to have Vita represented in Launchbox.
@@im_tem right. You don't need to extract special files from your Vita and put try to put them on your computer. Doing that has always been such a pain in the butt.
How would u play games that use on screen buttons like black ops declassified the knife button and grenades are on the screen do u just have to point the mouse and click on them while using a controller

i have very good luck with 3rd super robot wars with just disable surface sync. it runs at constant 60fps

I'm surprised there's no extra stuff you need. Like a bios file or something. It's a pretty easy setup!
