Had my Surface Book 3 upgraded to a Surface Laptop 4, and now that I've discovered this and installed it, I'll be holding onto the 3 as I can now control both with my Surface keyboard and Arc mouse. Brilliant. Seamless installation, works perfectly.
Here's Microsoft, years late to the party as usual. This has been available by others for more than 20 years. I have an ancient one (Synergy) that allows me to control screens crossing Windows, Linux, Android, iOS and MacOS. It would be really cool if MWB could do THAT!
@@tagi3d You see? Sometimes its like Microsoft keeps its best features hidden. They don't seem to emphasize their features enough! I was using Office for like 15 years before I found OneNote, which IMO is the best free-form note keeping program ever.
I use a Jelly Comb track ball and out of the box it connects to 3 devices, 1 through 2.4 ghz wireless and 2 through bluetooth. There is a button on the mouse that instanly changes from each option. It is awersome. I like that this App allows exchanging files and will be downloading and trying it out. Love these vids. :P
I work from home for Microsoft as well. This is great! My KVM switch would not work with my wireless keyboard and mouse so I had to move the wireless fob from PC to PC to get the keyboard/mouse to work on a different PC. This solves that problem. Now if you can just do the same for monitors I can throw away my KVM switch for good! Get back in the garage and please figure that one out! Thanks!
I have noticed that you can change mouse on either pc's or even change the "Blue tooth" number for logitech mouses, and when active, it will pick it up and let you continue the screen "sharing" , good !

No because that will share the screen too. Going through this method will allow you to share your keyboard and mice with another computer as if it was a second monitor.
Does this work both ways? I got a mouse and keyboard on one PC and just a keyboard with a touchpad on my other PC. On my PC laptop its the usual keyboard+touchpad.
holy fuck, this is a game changer, i use my main desktop PC and my surface pro X together all the time (the SPX is the touchscreen only model with no keyboard, basically a windows tablet), and I've got a wireless mouse that can switch between both devices but there's like a 3-4 second delay, and the switch is underneath the mouse, not ideal, so i just default to poking the surface with my finger which is pretty hellish, windows is NOT touch optimised, i don't care what microsoft say... this changes my workflow SO MUCH jeeeeez, i can't believe how well optimised this is, there's virutally no latency using a wireless mouse connected to my main pc, relayed to my surface, it's so damn badass, and the keyboard seamlessly switching to whichever PC i've got the mouse on is actually epic tysm for this video dude, quick simple setup vid, straight to the point! cheers!

Otherwise you might get some stuttering or some lag." Are you serious on this, the software is sync'ed via the internet, aka Azure (as it's from Microsoft)? I'd assume that this works locally _only_. Otherwise I'd prefer a prominent security warning that you're about to install a remote Keyboard/mouse service from Azure on your PC! >>> Please tell me that I'm wrong!

Awesome. I remember at one of my jobs, we used to have an external adapter to do this. It was kinda odd to press one bottom to switch peripherals to another pc. This one really saves time and space. Haven't fully tested, but at least on main pc if I'm playing at full screen the mouse is locked to that screen. I was pretty worry about that, but it worked well. Already loving it, still need more testing of course.

A big benefit of Synergy is it uses your LAN instead of the internet. So it doesn't use precious internet bandwidth. And most people have much faster LAN or WiFi than their internet.
FYI: Problem solved: If you are using Logitech's Easy switch with two computers Microsoft Garage Mouse without borders will not work unless you remove one of the Easy switch USBs from one of the computers. Took me a while but I figured it out and now the mouse and keyboard work seamlessly.

Now using it with a 2 Screen Windows 11 Desktop and a Windows 10 Laptop and with just few clicks it is up and running.

Great app, very close to one promoted a while ago by LTT, but at 2:35 couldn't some p2p way be implemented to bypass the 100MB limit, we don't need to funnel everything through a dedicated sever when the two pcs are literally next to eachother
Yep. The similar product and same functionality is Synergy from Symless Ltd I'm using since 2016. Works great. And Synergy work with Windows, macOS and Linux.
2+ years late, but that's already possible via Windows network and file sharing, which every Windows OS has on by default. But most people aren't savvy enough to transfer files through a home network.
this is a very good video especially regarding the thing with the code during installation. But wait the computers a NOT connected via internet if I am correct, they have to be connected via LAN in th same router (=network). That does mean exchanging date will go through local LAN, NOT internet, am I wrong?

A great app but it makes me nostalgic for a capability in NT pre-release - the ability to open windows with different credentials. In a sense the flip side of this feature. I should be able to share my desktop for different roles (or accounts) in different windows. I can ssh into my machine with different credentials so the underlying mechanisms seem to be there. WSL2 on W11 is a good example, -- but now we need WSW

Isn't it easier to remote desktop? remote accessing the PC you can do the same without additional software.
