    So great seeing a stock Bronco wheeling. Stock hubcaps and all! What a beauty!

    Old school tech with iffy tire goes where a lot of modern 4x4 vehicles can't.

      I could've drove a front wheel drive car up that trail.

      ***** I seriously doubt that with all that rain

      And I could have flown up there in my rocket car. Now we are both liars.

      A front engine front wheel drive car with tires about twice as wide gets plenty of traction.

      And my rocket car can just zoom on up there. Wanna' race? lol

    Dont sell it bro, it's a beauty. Not everyone truly appreciates them therefore they won't be willing to pay so much for them. You might not have the time at the moment, but your son gave it a name so clearly he likes it. Maybe that old bucket of bolts can be restored one day. You may not have the money right now, but it will come. Baby steps is all that it takes. Start out with the small stuff first. Make a schedule. No matter up long it takes, we all want to the that beauty restored

    The crazy thing is the 80's Bronco II was the revival of this vehicle. If they would have put a 5.0 and axles and drivetrain to match it too would have been legendary.

    My 68 CJ5 had a defroster, and an amazing Buick V6. But no gas gauge. I used a broken broom handle that slipped into one of the tubes on the winch bumper 😆. The really cool part is it had safety ejection...you sat on the gas tank🤔😬😳😂

    You would be a fool to part with it. My '69 is an exact copy of that down to the Meadowlark Yellow paint. Mine is the first vehicle I ever bought and have had it all these years. Would not part with it for anything. Not to be picky, but you have a left, rear side reflector on the right side; or maybe it is upside down. Awesome ride, keep it!

    Keep it at all costs . You'll never have regrets "if only I hadn't sold (insert late model junk here) I'll never see one of those in that pristine condition again " . My daily driver is a 1978 Dodge Ramcharger. I bought it on a whim and ended up selling my 1999 Dodge Durango . No regrets and I don't miss the Durango .

    • @mikehenry4743
      @mikehenry4743 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +pwschuh . That is correct, however, the vacuum wipers are supposed to be hooked up to the fuel pump which had a vacuum chamber to keep constant vacuum on the wipers. Not the manifold, where it looses vacuum as you say.

    These old trucks were equipped with vent windows for a reason. And you are old enough to know that. So why didn't you use them? The windshield would stay clear. Vacuum wipers are always problematic, but if the truck was in good repair, they would work much better. I have owned several International Scouts, and this video proves how superior they were. That said, With simple mods/repairs, and a driver that knows how to drive his truck, it could go most anywhere.

    Don't sell it, sell the crappy YJ instead! I learned to drive in one of those in the late 70's when I was about 10, it was my grandfathers beater truck to scout deer trails and get logs. The floor was rusted out and the tranny was frozen in 4wd. I drove it all over the mountains and never got stuck, I only wish I could have got it when he died.

    you make it sound so complicated, you don't need to keep it insured or on the road so, as you get time and money make it what you want and then put it back on the road! i wish you the best of luck! i would recommend getting new rims and tires for trailing so you don't risk breaking the originals.

    Hey Roman. I hope you're able to keep the Bronco. You might never have a chance like this again. In the past, there were a couple of cars I got rid of, for one reason or another, and there are regrets. Heck, the Bronco makes a great companion to the Raptor SVT, and I'm sure your wife and mom can access it more easily than the Raptor. How do they feel about the "Billy"?

  • @1guyin10
    @1guyin10 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Keep it and drive it. Some bolt on fuel injection and modern ignition would do wonders for that little 289. I'm sure 15 minutes on the internet would have electric wiper motors on their way to your door too. That might be first if I owned it.

    There comes a time when Old Iron should be Restored not modified. You got it, just sit on it. When you're ready, it'll be there.
    Like my cousin. In 1974 he bought from the original owner a 1970 stock Hemi Cuda. He has it in a locked steel quonset with a dirt floor, somewhere on his land. It's not for sale.

  • @situationmoney
    @situationmoney 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 1968 model was the last year with vacuum wipers. And these vacuum units NEVER worked properly. In 1969 they started using an electric motor for the wipers. This wiper motor was installed on top of the windshield frame and part of the motor was visible above the windshield frame. The exposed part of the wiper motor was covered by the hardtop. Because of this, Ford claimed that all the hardtops from 1969 onward were "non-removable tops."

    I love the idea behind this channel, however I find it a little bit hard to watch.. Driving through a mud puddle or over a speed bump is not really a drama filled event that requires dramatic input from the entire group to navigate. By no means is this meant as an insult but only as what I first thought when watching.. I kept looking for the " where's the danger" when someone would pause or become concerned.. and I was like.. .... umm..... mud puddle, mild hill, bump, tree.... maybe I missed the water crossing with water coming in the doors.. I will continue to watch, just some input from a fellow off roader.. well I used to... now I'm more the want to....
