Enjoyed seeing the yellow 1968 half cab... makes me laugh too bc I just pictured a happy little minion behind the wheel! Cant help it, the visual was immediate. 😆
Preserve it. Even though that limits the amount of videos you can make with it. A new paint job in the original color and making it mechanically pristine is all it needs.
Keeping it original as possible makes it so much better overall. I'd love to have something like this, if I could ever get my hands on one for a price I could afford.
Preserve the truck in its current condition, it's a lovely, unspoiled, example of the Bronco. To restore it would be to rob the truck of its age and miles. It would be like giving Roman a facelift - ridiculous. Modifying the truck would be a serious criminal offence.
super cool owner i agree. hint on the comments about the litle itty bitty bed. we dropped the tailgate a lot and had red flags tied onto longer loads like lumber sticking out back. and a few guys had roof racks on theirs. both options work for bigger stuff. and ..yes..we carried extra gas
Definitely the right decision to keep it basically stock. There are things you can do that won't affect the looks like better brakes and 3 point seat belts to make it safer. Adding some form of fuel injection will make it more agreeable to driving and probably give you better fuel economy. Air conditioning can even be added these days without much trouble. This seems like a good one to keep in the family and work on as you get a little extra cash.
I'd say fix the rust, replace any ripped broken interior/exterior, keep it mostly stock but give it a little of your flair. like slightly bigger tire, small lift (inch or 2), a little off road armor like bumper sliders skid plate, and enjoy it the hole time
I wish that someone was still making these. I'd love to be able to buy a new one. Especially if it wasn't weighed down with all the crap that they put on everything sold in the U.S. these days. Though I would prefer a five-speed manual instead of the old three speed on the column.
It's a nice Bronco but, I would try to sell it for a profit due to the fact it looks like it is good original shape and I would not want to hack it up. I forget who said it in the video but, he had the right idea, look for a 70's International Scout/Harvestor. They're unique and very cool, Oh.....i know this is TFl Truck channel but, how's progress on your Lincoln Diamond Jubilee???
What happened to the special guest reviews (by viewers)? It's fun to see people taking care of their not-so-new vehicules. Good video, I like that guy living on solar panels!
I think y'all need to go visit that bearded fellow when the weather's nice and he can get that Fairlane out to show it off. Not sure how far outside the Denver/Boulder area he is, but it'd be cool if he showed up to Cars n Coffee when y'all were filming.
Great episode; Personally I think its too nice to mess with too much, just go the survivor rout with it. Although, would be cool to see a follow-up on the Fairlane.
Here's an idea, take the Escape, mod it to make it a two door and a short bed. Resurrect the Bronco nameplate. A show car if not production. Hey Ford, do it
That seemed like a cool guy to have a beer with. It look like it would be a prime candidate for a resto-mod. But that is big money, that you will never get back. Not only that, you would lose a bit of history.
Restore it mechanically, leave it uncut put some new tires on it and drive it and enjoy it that way and switch those wipers over to the electric wipers and convert it over to the floor shifter from James duff
Preserve it. Or, another idea: find someone who can afford to do a full restoration and give him a good deal on it with the caveat that he let you film and record the restoration.
Three years later and zero updates???? What happened?? And what about the black Ford Highboy? Why do all these projects simply vanish and new ones appear a few months later???
We're you new to driving manual transmission? I believe the U.S should make being able to drive standard manual as a prerequisite to getting a license. it'll reduce the number of bad drivers
preserve, preserve, preserve.... remember its only original once and this is a really kool vehicle please dont restore or modify it, unicorns dont deserve to be fondled
I would of restored it rather than preserved it. Reason is, I had a '70 Bronco with a straight six cyl and shift on the column (3 speed). I ended up hating it.. It would break down very often and the rust was incredible. Also, it was terrible in snow. In snow, I would get one wheel to spin in the back and 1 wheel to spin in the front.
That music (if you can call it that) at 5:20 is irritating as hell. Why do that? Do you do automotive reviews or is this supposed to be an MTV reject video?
Old vehicles will also have weird clutches. They’ll have huge amounts of travel with nothing then a really short bite point and be stupidly heavy. And I’ve only ever driven manuals and I would have to sit there and figure out the shift pattern on the column anyway.
I think preserving it would be best. Although putting in new hoses, maybe some small ignition upgrades. Just simple cheap things. Nice little Bronco.
justhes I agree, its a really nice survivor soi keep it that way.
That thing is so rare. And it's cool factor is through the roof! :D
I think that preserving it is the right thing to do.
Enjoyed seeing the yellow 1968 half cab... makes me laugh too bc I just pictured a happy little minion behind the wheel! Cant help it, the visual was immediate. 😆
That guys seems like a super cool guy
That guy was the biggest backseat driver ever hahaha
Preserve it. Even though that limits the amount of videos you can make with it. A new paint job in the original color and making it mechanically pristine is all it needs.
I love the Bronco. If it were mine I would keep it stock. Great video.
Keeping it original as possible makes it so much better overall. I'd love to have something like this, if I could ever get my hands on one for a price I could afford.
Restore it! My favorite Broncos are the 78's & 79's....
You actually like those ugly ass square headlights.
+AlaskanRc they don't all have square headlights some 78 bronco customs came with round headlights
Preserve the truck in its current condition, it's a lovely, unspoiled, example of the Bronco.

At 11:51, "Dana 20 up front.." actually is a Dana 30 on a '68 with a Dana 20 T/Case.
super cool owner i agree.

This is my ideal Bronco, great video
I thought the show was fun and then i saw the Fairlane, really nice ride!
I'd say fix the rust, replace any ripped broken interior/exterior, keep it mostly stock but give it a little of your flair. like slightly bigger tire, small lift (inch or 2), a little off road armor like bumper sliders skid plate, and enjoy it the hole time
o and the key is keep it what it's good at, so keep it light as possible so aluminum armor

retromod! lift kit, toyo open countrys, brush guard, winch etc
Here's an idea, take the Escape, mod it to make it a two door and a short bed. Resurrect the Bronco nameplate. A show car if not production. Hey Ford, do it

keep the outside the same (with new paint) and make the inside modern (new shocks, seats, engine and trans ) Ya gotta be comfortable ya know
This is TFL Car turning into motortrend's roadkill
If you not have budget to full restoration , preserve it !
It might have an aftermarket 302 V8. The '68 models had the optional 289 V8 with manual choke. Looks like this Bronco is maybe 90% original...
He said it had the 289 v8
What a buy.
Restore it mechanically, leave it uncut put some new tires on it and drive it and enjoy it that way and switch those wipers over to the electric wipers and convert it over to the floor shifter from James duff

take it to ICON!!!!PLEASE
let us know what you decide we cant wait
Three years later and zero updates???? What happened??
And what about the black Ford Highboy? Why do all these projects simply vanish and new ones appear a few months later???
Cool bearded fella
This will probably sound stupid but did he pay 12,000 or 1,200?
We're you new to driving manual transmission? I believe the U.S should make being able to drive standard manual as a prerequisite to getting a license. it'll reduce the number of bad drivers
KEEP!
preserve, preserve, preserve.... remember its only original once and this is a really kool vehicle
please dont restore or modify it, unicorns dont deserve to be fondled
Preserve
Could you convert a SUV Ford Bronco into a half cab?
Why in the hell would you want to do that?
I would just preserve it it's mint
RESTORE !!! But not to crazy !!!
"preserve it" and in the intro they have a video of them spinning the tires...
i think you should restore is because it been one thing for so long now its time for it to be some thing else.
Don't butcher this beautiful piece of Americana guys. Keep it as original as possible!!
so dope
Preserve!
Do not cut it
did they say 1250 or 12500 just wonderin
i would lift it and put a bush guard bumper on it.
Restore it but with a heavy duty upgrade on the supension nice find you all
Cool!!
I would of restored it rather than preserved it. Reason is, I had a '70 Bronco with a straight six cyl and shift on the column (3 speed). I ended up hating it.. This is screaming 35's and a v8 to me
Drop the hellcat motor in!!!
Preserve it is the obvious choice. Buy another one that has been cut up and use that as a off road project Truck.
PRESERVE!
That music (if you can call it that) at 5:20 is irritating as hell. Why do that? Do you do automotive reviews or is this supposed to be an MTV reject video?
Yeah, that single drive you did in that salty snow is going decrease the value of it
restore
Nit picking craigslist buyers.....the worst
give it to me!!! please!!
y do americans always find it dfficult to drive clutch
And you didn't point this out they are the main people on this car and truck channel and the retards can hardly drive a stick lol. Embarrassing.
Old vehicles will also have weird clutches. They’ll have huge amounts of travel with nothing then a really short bite point and be stupidly heavy.
And I’ve only ever driven manuals and I would have to sit there and figure out the shift pattern on the column anyway.
Retro Mod It . Stick a 5.0 in it .
krazy45cat If it wasn't so rare and it had a blown engine, I might agree but it's too nice in this case. They're only original once.
+James Beaman I totally agree
You know a 302 and a 289 are almost identical motors right?
+AlaskanRc I sure do . A late mdl 5.00 with fuel injection and a 5 speed is what I would do .Along with adding pwoer steering and power brakes .
krazy45cat well i have the perfect 5.0 lol its a 96 5.0 so its an h.o with the different firing order and mustang cam.
1st
