We had one in the shop a few weeks back, impact on the RR tire, didn't even damage the rim. Bent the rear axle housing and the Panhard bar. You could SEE the camber on the RR wheel due to the bent axle housing, and the whole axle assembly was displaced an inch and a half to the left due to the pretzeled Panhard bar. Plus, the immense inertia of the huge beadlock wheel/tire combo hanging on the rear gate bent the body shell where the gate hinges attach. Offroad vehicle, eh? Nah, just a lookit-me!!! mall-crawler.

this bronco needs the bronco buster tie rods supports that help reinforce the stock parts and would have allowed for the bronco to drive itself out once it was pulled off the obstacle
She doesn't know what she's doing. She must be young money, judging by her not even knowing what specifically she got into with what type of vehicle and how she trashed it. And the she blamed it.
I've seen several videos showing the pitiful design of the Bronco's front suspension. There is even a trail repair kit I've seen on one for the tiny tie rods. If you have the money to buy this overpriced toy, spend enough to upgrade before you go off the pavement. You have a great apprentice working with you. Go Abby!
There are aftermarket parts that make a Bronco very capable but off the assembly line, engineers weren’t designing them to actually go serious off-road.
They're still a light duty SUV under the cool looking body. Really only made for very mild offroading from the factory. Even with the special packages that come with the bigger tires and such. I don't get the number of people that spend $50k on an SUV to turn around and spend another $20K modifying it to almost be good offroad. It's like the side by sides people dump crazy money into for them to still break all the time. For the money spent could just end up with an offroad buggy or a much more purpose built rig.
The last Bronco worth purchasing was built in 1996. If you buy one of these new Broncos, you need to take a cutting Torch to the suspension components. And weld some old school axles underneath this thing to make it perform like the old ones. If it doesn't have axles underneath it, you should keep it on the pavement.
Love my Bronco, no issues off road. Every vehicle ever made can get stuck and breaks. I remember we tore up a buddies Jeep in the 80’s. Destroyed his front linkage and axil. His daddy was not happy. 😂.
Not one of them had a shovel and some wood planks with grip tape for under the tires. You can even use a small loading ramps from harbor freight. Rookies
I used to drive an old ‘78 Chev tow truck with a Holmes 440 tow body on it. It had wide reinforced rubber pads to cushion where the chains are coming into contact with the bumper in their case. That setup worked quite well,
should have filled the dirt holes the front tires made with dirt before pulling the Bronco forward instead of the Bronco slamming down on its own tailpipe. Don't really need a tow truck in this situation, when high centered put a floor jack under front side of car, Use some compact dirt or sturdy ply wood/wood block under the floor jack and the jack up the front side of car. Shovel some dirt under each front tire and pack it down. Lower down car with floor jack and repeat process until most the weight is shifted to rear tires and enough weight on front tires to push itself back and center of car is completely off ground, put it in reverse and make sure nobody is behind you lightly give it some gas and voila! I have high centered many times in my car off roading and snow, it works every time, just a bit of patience.

Had a fancy cherokee circa 1992. Never bought it to off-road hard core. Just to getme through northern ice and snow. Road over a good size buck at about 70 miles an hour on the highway, made an awful noise and might have gotten a tiny bit of air. She bounced for sure. Pulled over and the skids plates saved everything, never even tore off the muffler. Lots of fur and blood but I drove away.
Good for her for being mellow. Can’t help but think they’re a bit of passive aggressive chauvinism rearing its head here. Nothing wrong with the vehicle. 4x4 drive is all the same. You can break stuff on a highboy too. Skill goes a long way. But these trails are riddled with idiots on both sides. Folks who don’t know what they’re doing. And those who think they do and judge everyone else.
I had a 72, that was a great bronco. it had no AC, when it rained you got wet. I loved that thing. I dont think the new stock model is ready for serious jeep trails. Id go with a wrangler for off roading.
Tell me you don't belong on the trail without telling me.... I've demolished the front of my rig but when the tow truck shows up I'm gonna be worried about putting a t-shirt under the chain. 😂😂😂
I had a 1995 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer with a 3" lift decades ago. Not a fast vehicle at all, sloppy was the best word to describe its shifting, and the gas mileage was a solid 13mpg whether you were on the highway or in the city. But that was a nice sturdy truck. I regret ever getting rid of it.
My wife was upset that I bought a 30 year old jeep. I wonder how much that poor lady paid for the bronco. Legacy bronco with 300 cubic inch inline 6 is tough to beat.
Hell, it's not the bronco that's the problem it's the driver 😂. She doesn't know what she's doing 😂. She keeps trying to steer and hit brakes while the wrecker is towing her😂😂😂.
Why don't you guys work on Mira's Wrecker? Abby is becoming a very experienced wrecker helper. Guess she'll be the next to want her own wrecker!!!!!!!!!
IFS is good for the better ride and most of the time it is fine. Solid front axles are stronger, but they break sometimes too...Nice, your daughter knows what she is doing and helps out.
If you go off roading on rough trails bring 1 or 2 high lift Jack, a shovel, and a come along. Along with a few 20 foot strong straps and a 100 foot rope. Self recovery takes longer when you really dig yourself deep stuck. It’s easy and quicker when you don’t dig your tires so deep… Bring those items and you won’t need to call a recovery truck.
All well and good, as I consider those self extraction tools essential and basic. In this case though, we are dealing with broken steering parts rendering those basic items more or less useless. You might be able to get it off it's high center but without steering you are going nowhere.
It seems to be true for the raptor also. Both vehicles are very good looking, But they seem to be very gimmicky. The raptor comes with upgraded off road suspension, But in order to be a capable off road vehicle you have to upgrade the suspension. 😂 That being said a stock raptor would have more suspension than I would ever use.
Most of these new sun's and trucks. We had 2nd gen tacomas underground, when I was a miner. And they were trash. Most of the new toyotas, broncos, suvs in general are dog 🐕 shiet. Combine that with people who don't know how to drive art alone 4wheel and you've got a bad combination.
Nice work getting that heavy beast out of there. The new Broncos' front end issues are well known to everyone but new buyers and some current owners it appears. Upgrade them or keep spares and tools to avoid the drag of shame. Nice to see Abbey working with you.

When looking for stout four wheel drives, regardless of make, look for ones with solid front axles. Ford and RAM are among the few still making this stout stuff.
💪🤗🙏🏆 Thank you for sharing this. What broke or failed? I had a 73 Bronco with Warn lock-in hubs and 38.5 inch Gumbo mudders. Many friends with the same. They were and still are tough. I guess they can't make things like they used to. 😔
The steering tie rods on new gen Broncos are a weak point, typically snapping at the threaded portion. Really needs upgrading if you're heading off pavement.
That's a sad sack of s***. Why are you 4 wheeling with plastics anyway? Every single object in on that road is far more detrimental to the vehicle than cosmetic scratches from a chain. You don't 4x4 to look good, you 4x4 to get to where you're going. Rocks, trees, sand and mud will never be plastic friendly. Enough said.
Love watching you man your a great man, and you're the first that started this, and now look, thank you for everything you do and for you and your family. Hard work, amazing people
Folks with the bronco’s…. Do the upgrades to the front end before you take it off pavement, they don’t completely eliminate the piss poor design issue but they do make it slightly more reliable… that or just carry the parts and tools to replace everything about every 100 yards or so.
@@billymack4606 the front end of these things are a known issue, the one bronco I was around (the neighbors) broke twice just bouncing down his driveway on the snow and ice. Every other vehicle he’s had somehow has managed the “treacherous” 150 feet but not this pos. As for what brand, you are correct they all suck, doesn’t matter make model or quality anything manufactured since 2004 ish is designed to fail. Just love how many people jumps in and gives directions....
Yeah and none of them pick up a shovel !!!!
lol
Typical
why I'd never go on a group ride, I don't go into nature to listen to more dumb people.
Like union workers. 😅
Those are all democrats. They know everything.
this bronco needs the bronco buster tie rods supports that help reinforce the stock parts and would have allowed for the bronco to drive itself out once it was pulled off the obstacle
or leave it on the blacktop where it belongs
@@joeblow123
Good advice, agreed. 💯%
You need to get Bronc busters tie rod trail fix
I love it. Old, simple tech plucking out the fragile new crap from the trails.
Gonna be honest, where that Bronco got stuck was not a Bronco problem... that was an idiot driver problem.
Nice job getting the Bronco back to the campground. Hope she can get it fixed soon and can get back to the trails!
They have a known steering weakness. You need to upgrade them before they break. But once you fix that it's OK. Won't break again.
They had it back on the trail on Sunday.
Eric when you get Mara's tow truck finished Abby is going to want a off-road wrecker or buggy as always you guys are awesome
Awesome recovery for helping that lady out
A lot of off road vehicles are built or modded. Stock anything is good for soft roading. That is just as true today as it was decades ago.
My stock 1969 FJ40 disagrees. She is pretty badass off road.
Yep, the two FJ40s we had in the 80s were heavy and would out climb everything else in our offroading group, never breaking down.
Everything is so overpriced now.A rubicon shouldn’t cost 60k or
the 392 version for 90+k.Most any new 4x4 is 60k now. Just ridiculous.
Its the crappy tie rod they use, its the width of a tooth pick
The last Bronco worth purchasing was built in 1996. If you buy one of these new Broncos, you need to take a cutting Torch to the suspension components.
And weld some old school axles underneath this thing to make it perform like the old ones. If it doesn't have axles underneath it, you should keep it on the pavement.
I don’t know how Frond made the Bronco so weak. They made the Raptors for years. The off road experience was there
theres a better off road bronco version/package. this one is the unibody more suited for trails
Rookies
Was thinking the same thing.
How about using the shackles on the front of the Bronco - or were they just plastic cosmetic pieces?
I'd rather be stuck than the damage they're doing. Guy running around with a drink and a staff shirt is pretty impressive.
So was the Bronco broke after getting stuck? Not sure why it had to be towed all the way to the trailer park otherwise.
Bronco…only thing a modern one is designed to climb over are the speed bumps at the local mall….as long as they are little ones. 🤣
I used to drive an old ‘78 Chev tow truck with a Holmes 440 tow body on it. It had wide reinforced rubber pads to cushion where the chains are coming into contact with the bumper in their case. That setup worked quite well,
Eric you are good at what you do and make it look easy. I always enjoy your videos
It's the driver, not the rig. But I want that dually tow truck, it's beautiful. Clinking and clanking like a good off roader should.
should have filled the dirt holes the front tires made with dirt before pulling the Bronco forward instead of the Bronco slamming down on its own tailpipe.
Always great seeing yous help other's, looked a beautiful day, hope you all had a great time, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
They need to get a set of the bronc buster tie rod stiffeners ,from what I've seen they work well.
(This is my first time visit to this YT channel.)Very impressive! It is a real pleasure to watch a true professional.I think it is great that you are teaching your young lady assistant some very valuable skills.I am now a new subscriber on the strength of this video.🌞
Matts Off Road Recovery is waving. 😁😁✌️
it's got the new Ford variable steering where the front wheels can point in 2 different directions
That's one where the rubber straps would be nice to have on the sling!, Crap I even have a sling I carry on the old L-800, Holmes are my favorite tools!!
You have to remember that Eric volunteers his wrecker and his time . If you’re going off roading with plastic bumpers you won’t get the lot bandits coming to rescue you.
And those who think they do and judge everyone else.
crazy i use to watch this channel back in 09 loll high school days
I had a 72, that was a great bronco. it had no AC, when it rained you got wet. I loved that thing. I dont think the new stock model is ready for serious jeep trails. Id go with a wrangler for off roading.
I'd worry about the airbags in something like that. Do you pull a fuse before towing?
It's great to see the young lady helping you out.
Where the Bronco got stuck was a driver problem, not a Bronco problem.
Thank G-d I never got one of these!
@1:27... She is EXACTLY RIGHT!!! The new Bronco is all hype. Another fine example of why not to buy a new Bronco.
Straight axle for the WIN!!!
The jeep was below the bronco pulling down on it and they can't figure out why they couldn't pull it out! Really!
If you go off roading on rough trails bring 1 or 2 high lift Jack, a shovel, and a come along. Along with a few 20 foot strong straps and a 100 foot rope. Self recovery takes longer when you really dig yourself deep stuck.
It’s easy and quicker when you don’t dig your tires so deep…
Bring those items and you won’t need to call a recovery truck.
All well and good, as I consider those self extraction tools essential and basic. In this case though, we are dealing with broken steering parts rendering those basic items more or less useless. You might be able to get it off it's high center but without steering you are going nowhere.
Eric will be building a third wrecker soon. The third one wil be for Abby.
So cool he has his daughter or granddaughter helping. She probably a better wrench than most men.
Typical, new bronco owners don't realize all they purchased was an image. Then take it off road and worry about a scratched bumper....
RIGHT 😅
Not all.
Yep so true
Most of these new sun's and trucks. We had 2nd gen tacomas underground, when I was a miner. And they were trash.
Most of the new toyotas, broncos, suvs in general are dog 🐕 shiet.
Combine that with people who don't know how to drive art alone 4wheel and you've got a bad combination.
Just because it looks like that old thing doesn't mean it is that old thing. New Broncos are not even a shadow of the '66-77 model.
It cracks me up! Don't wreck my bumper on my New Bronco I took out into the woods to destroy!!! HAHAHAHAHAH
Nice work getting that heavy beast out of there. The new Broncos' front end issues are well known to everyone but new buyers and some current owners it appears. Upgrade them or keep spares and tools to avoid the drag of shame. Nice to see Abbey working with you.
please remind your daughter to always be alert where she grabs or places her hand with moving metal parts.
I thought her finger was gonna get pinched in the pin hole when extending, but it may have just looked that way on video, I remember when she was In a car seat on here! been watching BSF for a while I guess! she's growing up fast, at first I thought it was mara In the thumbnail picture
And I recommend that dad show a finger of one mangled hand from some innocuous thing. for example, once you see a finger that has had all the meat taken off the bone by a wedding ring that caught on a ladder it sticks with you. Navy safety magazines are a great source for such gruesome reminders.
@@JoeOvercoat I never wear rings or watches near machines, I seen a finger severed in front of me. And my oversized glove got pulled into an air router. Luckily for me the tool stopped, had it been electric I would have lost my hand
When looking for stout four wheel drives, regardless of make, look for ones with solid front axles. Ford and RAM are among the few still making this stout stuff.
💪🤗🙏🏆
Thank you for sharing this.
You’ll say hey to Abby 💜💚
Mercy, chains on a front bumper, whats wrong with you. I would think you would know better.
Probably scratched the plastic. Probably should change the chains for straps for modern vehicles that have plastic bumpers.
Maybe winch it onto flat ground and use a tow claw with ratchet straps to clamp the wheels. The chains are painful to watch on those plastic bumpers.
I'd rig that thing up with the rubber straps, damn that's old school. OK if your recovering shit boxes though.
that bronc aint cherry no more
Love watching you man your a great man, and you're the first that started this, and now look, thank you for everything you do and for you and your family. Hard work, amazing people
Why put those logs there? That won't be the last vehicle to turtle out on that hill.
That is a planned and designed obstacle. You're at an off-road park to go over obstacles like that.
Hope you had a good Fathers day Eric.
"THE" Wrecker is a beast.
Bronco front end doing the old zhummer tire fold up!!
Just have to upgrade the tie rods.
Folks with the bronco’s…. Do the upgrades to the front end before you take it off pavement, they don’t completely eliminate the piss poor design issue but they do make it slightly more reliable… that or just carry the parts and tools to replace everything about every 100 yards or so.
It doesn't matter what brand it is you just can't be prepared enough for stupid.
What do figure that Bronco repair will total ?
@@billymack4606 the front end of these things are a known issue, the one bronco I was around (the neighbors) broke twice just bouncing down his driveway on the snow and ice. Every other vehicle he’s had somehow has managed the “treacherous” 150 feet but not this pos. As for what brand, you are correct they all suck, doesn’t matter make model or quality anything manufactured since 2004 ish is designed to fail. They’ve decided that heated/cooled seats and enough video games and unnecessary contraptions are more important than actually being useable in an off road environment (or anywhere besides the mall for that matter)
@@Bugsy0333 A lot
@@dontall71 Thanks i figure 6-8 k $
The guys saying about Jeep, sure... 2022 Rubicon made a 70 year old man walk about half a mile on the ice because a shitty little T-case cable went out and he couldn't get 4WD. Get it through your heads. They're ALL bullshit anymore. GM, Mopar, Fomoco, they're ALL built to fail. Love the meaty looking tow hooks, fender badges, and the front end that can't handle it...
While Ford blew it with the weak tie rod end the heep people crack me up. Apparently the ball joints giving up on them for many years. The class action lawsuit for issues. Better yet, put in a chev motor, trans and drive train then claim they own a heep. There is a reason there are so many after market parts for them. And no, it's not because they are so popular. Reminds me of Harley riders.
All manufacturers have good and bad points. Standing around like a bunch of little kids mocking someone is just sad.
Need to get a few sets of broncobusters tie links reinforcements for broncos and other ifs trucks
** Original sewn "heartbeat of america" seats?? That's a sight to see. Bet those go for a pretty dollar.
These new Broncos are just restyled old Ford Rangers.
Not a bronco. Even a Bronco II had a real backbone. These are just an imported passenger car with AWD
Very cute helper. What a trooper!
"It's not a Jeep" awesome
New vehicles match up great with the people that drive them.
Chevy k5 blazer, like a jeep but for MEN!!! Like a rock
Had my 77 K5 For 24 years now since i been 18 and its a tank. If you get it stuck your in a place you should of never been lol. Love it!
Guess weve found the broncos limits 😂 i love when he said "well its not a jeep" 😂😂 these new vehicles that claim off road capable are seriously hit or miss a buddy of mine bought a kia telluride i believe its spelled and tried to proceed with following my jeep thru a mud hole....2 hours later we finished towing it from the trails because he wouldn't hear me out that my jeeps purpose built for water electrical components like the pcm have been relocated to a water proof box everything that couldn't be moved somewhere extremely high or into a water tight container is frequently reshot with marine grade grease to keep water out....good recovery fellas
A Jeep in the exact same position as the Bronco would have been stuck too... that was not a Bronco problem, the moron behind the wheel drove it into a terrible spot... Driver error, not vehicle error.
Blazer man says If you leave the Bronco in your garage It will not break down or have scratches😂😂😂.❤
Side note, they were on the trail on Sunday with the Bronco🥴
