      Do you know if changing the matchdays from TV broadcasting days affect the TV income/revenue though? As it won't be worthwhile to change that if you are managing a lower/poorer team?

    Top video, thanks!
    Just a detail about the scheduling... if you want the game to schedule matches on Wednesdays and Saturdays only, it is preferrable to do it before you create the save. I haven't tested it much, but I dont think any change would impact scheduling games of the current season, and if so, changes might apply starting from next season.
    Also, I believe it impacts youth and reserve games as well.

      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Ahmed! Yeah to be honest, I haven't tested it much either, so I can't tell you for sure. But yeah, I think in general that IF you want to do it like that, you best do it for each save. Thanks again!

    Hi Leyodemus. I have only just discovered your tutorial videos but wanted to thank you for delivering these extremely valuable guides in such a clear, concise and non patronising way. I have thoroughly enjoyed them (I have sadly always delegated training and mentoring and only partially understood individual training). I LOVE the rags to riches challenge of any FM game and the first thing I always do is download the lower league databases and play my local non-league team in England (Level 10 or 11). I wonder whether you might consider a supplementary short video that helps us Lower League Managers navigate the problems of Amateur and Part Time clubs? I think you have given me enough ideas in these videos to have a go (My idea is a 4 week rotational plan), but I would be very interested in your thoughts too. Thanks once again and keep up the fantastic work.
    EDIT - is there a good video that you know of that describes the benefits of the Rensie Skin?

    I do like to concentrate on individual roles and training sessions like defending from the front or playing out from the back to get the units to train either ones focus. I also like to include vision training, also the match practice and team bonding I use a lot.

  • @BrockMak

    Initially: I let my assistant to set up the template for training, but I always tweak the schedule. This was crucial when I first started. I use the same template for Manchester United's offseason in reality, which is already revealed to be physical and tactical-heavy schedule (maybe defense).
    5:57 I think I ignored this a bit. I almost overhauled my entire staff, but realized I hired too many fitness staff, so I'll replace 2 fitness coach for 2 defensive coaches.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Matthew! In theory, yes...but it could be that you have different "goals" for their training, right? For example: less focus on tact.familiarity, but super high focus on the individual roles, which could mean you would have to add/delete some sessions to try and accomplish just that. But the principles pretty much all stay the same indeed. Hope that helps, let me know!

    Any tips on keeping the players fit for most of the game? Players seem to be losing fitness quick enough

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark! Hard to give "one tip to rule them all" here, but I would suggest to look at the session cards you put in the schedules. Those will indicate the effect they have on the players, so by using that information you can kind of "predict" what is going to happen with their fitness levels, both "match fitness" and "condition". Hope that helps, let me know!

      Hi Martyn! You definitely could yeah, but it also depends if your training goals are the same for those other teams. Example: maybe there you don't care about tact. familiarity or team happiness as much, so you can prioritise individual development. But the core principle stay the same, in my opinion. Hope that helps, let me know!

    So what if some of my players are on international duty? Does the engine regognize that? I mean, in real life the absente players would not "benefit" from the team training I have set up. However, they actually do get some training (not with my squad, obviously). Any thoughts on this? Great video, btw. Very helpful!!

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Carsten! Good question really... Not 100% sure, but since there is no training module when you are managing a nation in FM, I would think the players "don't train" according to the game, and so also get no benefit. The international matches will serve just as a regular match, so players get a "training" boost for the playing position and all of that. Hope this helps!

  • @paulmortimer1398

    Great informative video, but how can you set training plans for teams who are part time and only train 2 days a week? I'm managing at Farsley, currently in Vanarama League and only have training Tuesday and Thursday. If got a midweek game can only have one training day maximum.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Paul, and thanks! Well, I'm having the same situation in my tier 10 journeyman 🙂 For these situations I like to narrow down my priorities to tactical familiarity, team cohesion and player fitness by going for a Match Practice session on every single training day, along with another tactical/match prep session. If/when they get familiar with the tactics, the other session would be a general session or Team Bonding or whatever session the players are requesting.
      Reason: in those lower leagues I mainly want fit players who are united as a team and kinda know what they have to do on the pitch, instead of technically gifted wonderkids who can decide a match on their own 🙂The Match Practice session just about ticks all those boxes, also Team Cohesion and Happiness, which can be a struggle because a lot of transfer action tends to happen in those lower leagues, and that can 100% disrupt a team's dynamics!
      Hope this helps? Let me know!

      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kenny! Check out my previous video on individual training, especially the "Follow up" chapter. A link is down in this video's description. In short: I check if he has a reason to complain, by checking the attributes being worked on and other data. If I see he doesn't really have a reason, I just ask myself if I'm bothered that he'll stay unhappy with that. Most of the time, that answer is no 🙂 Hope that helps!

Does it make sense to use physical training while season? Is the attribute stamina then boosted for the week? I myself use a very hard preseason schedule. However, it worked better when the assistant made the schedule. I have been playing counterpress in the CL for 3 seasons.

    For the comparison, please use a team without the top training and coaches. It's so meh seeing tests done with Liverpool because they are basically FM easy mode. Besides if training manually shows better results at a mid level side it'll clearly fly at Liverpool and City, but the reverse may not be so likely.

    • @Leyodemus

      Good question Ozzy! The main difference imo is: from a player's point of view, Recovery is an actual "active" training session and Rest is not. So if you fill up every possible Rest session with a Recovery session: in theory this is maybe better as far as the impacts go, but the players may start to complain like "boss, you're keeping us in here ALL WEEK?". • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated! And no worries, your English is just fine 🙂 Well, the fact is that it is hard for players in FM to learn or at least "get familiar" with multiple positions/roles/duties at the same time... So if I use multiple tactics myself, I try to keep them as "similar" as possible, if you know what I mean.
      If you don't do this, it's a challenge for sure, but we all love a challenge right? I would advice to put a lot of tact.familiarity sessions in your training schedules, and switch that "primary trained tactic" every week or month. That should help, I hope. Good luck!

    Amazing video and amazing series. So logically set out. Would have taken a lot of prep. One query re pre season training - I use a lot more of the physical sessions (endurance, resistance etc) during the week with recovery straight afterwards. I saw you are only using a couple of these. Any thoughts as to the right approach? I just thought you would hold off fatigue later in the season by concentrating on these early on.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi!! These videos do take a lot of work indeed, so thanks for the kind words! Yeah to be honest, I tend to go "easy" on them, I think 🙂But there really is no "right" or "wrong" approach though, because it also depends on different things that will make you want to change focus in pre season or even regular season. A lot of new players coming in? A new tactic? A lot of games and maybe injuries? All those things influence the way I tend to tweak these schedules. That being said, I think it's really okay to go somewhat harder on them in pre season, by using more physical sessions. Hope that makes sense and helps? Let me know! Thanks again!

    As far as I could experience, semi-professional teams cannot use the full calender there to put in different training sessions. Do you have any recommendations for that sort of lower league training?

      Hi Ismail, and thanks! Yes, you are completely correct: semi professional teams only have a couple of days available. There is no real answer to this question, because it will depend on the different needs of your team in different times in the season. Feel free to hop into one of the livestreams on my own channel. I am managing a team in tier 8 in England, so I can show you how I do it. 🙂

      They'd have to change to professional once they start climbing the pyramid. In similar fashion, contracts should switch from part-time to full-time.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! If your players are playing a lot of matches, this will always be higher and the only way to decrease it is to actually rest them. Other than that, I would make sure to use a lot of recovery sessions in your team training schedules, because those greatly reduce injury risk! Also check your Medical Centre and Training > Rest screens to maybe find some physio recommendations. Hope this helps, let me know!

      Hi Nate! Rarely I do, because I have the tendency to move my highest potential players over to my first team to give them some playing time asap. Just a personal choice though. IF you however decide to do it, I would go big and do team training as well to avoid injuries and all, because the AI doesn't care too much about that when creating those training schedules 🙂

    I have tried to use the "Periodization" theory on this, but I've stopped doing it since I heard and saw a video where it states that it doesn't matter what kind of training session you use, all of them work in the same way.
    Meaning: since we're developing player attributes and not systems, using (e.g.) a "Defending" training session doesn't really means the team is getting "better" at defending.
    So, in other words: Try to use all the sessions indiscriminately as soon as you can, so you're players can develop as much as their attributes they can, and they can perform, in average, whichever role you want them to play.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not sure if I 100% understand what you are saying, but I will only use team training for the 5 goals I mention in the video. And you say "we are not developing systems", but it's important to get your players FAMILIAR with those systems, right? That's the exact reason tactical familiarity is one of my 5 goals. Every player has a PA and my goal is to get them to that PA as soon as possible, but also in the "direction" (so position/role/duty-related attributes) that I want, and that's where individual training comes in, not team training. Hope that makes sense? Let me know!

    Hey mate, great video.
    Question: is it me or does your assistant ALWAYS give you bad advice in terms of training? Like, even the best assistant never seems to be on the same page as me when training and developing players. Even when I take over all training Im constantly being told that:
    1) not to individually train attributes for a player because they "arent a weakness"
    2) ALWAYS train weak foot even if their weak foot isnt that weak anymore
    3) never believes the traits I want a player to train will work
    4) NEVER EVER EVER MAKES A GOOD WEEKLY/MONTHLY SCHEDULE.
    Honestly, outside of People Management and maybe tactical efficiency the Assistant Manager is possibly the most useless member of your staff as he will actively go against everything you want to achieve.

  • @kouvaras13
    @kouvaras13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I disagree with you regarding the individual training for the development of your players' attributes. If you observe what you put (Aerial Defense, Ground Defense, Chance Conversion, Chance Creation and Goalkeeping,), they have priority to increase only 20% in the field of defense/goalkeeper, attack/goalkeeper, attack/defense(Goalkeeping).
    =Maximum you will get only 40% of each option separately, with only 2 combinations (defense and goalkeeper, attack and goalkeeper, attack and defence).

    If you want to have excellent development in the individual training of your players to get 100% (with all 3 combinations attack-defense-goalkeeper TOGETHER), these only make three "options" that you have to put in training. 1) Attaking Movement that give you 60% priority in attack - 20% in defense - 20% in goalkeeper (= 100% total), 2) Defensive Shape that gives you 60% priority in defense - 20% in attack - 20% in goalkeeper (= total 100%) and 3) Match Practise that gives you 100% priority in everything. I noticed that you only use it in the pre-season. It is foolish not to use it at least once a week when you have only 1 match (not only pre season) . It is very good because it improves the individual attributes of your players to the maximum. Besides, match practise is actually used by the teams irl.
    So replacing these 3 that I mentioned above with yours you will see a huge difference in the development of the attributes of your players in the individual training. I hope you understand what i am saying. You are great, thank you.

    • @Leyodemus
      @Leyodemus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, and thanks! I completely understand, but I don't agree 🙂I think I mentioned this in a previous video: the more elements "Impact" a session, the more the impact is divided between those elements. The priority just indicates how much focus each UNIT gets. So a 100% priority just means that there is no unit separation for that session. All players will get the same focus compared to each other, if that makes sense? BUT for each player, that 100% gets divided among all the things that the session impacts.
      To continue your example: yes, "Aerial Defence" only gives 20% priority to Attacking and GK unit players, but that WHOLE 20% goes to "Attributes: individual roles". Compare that with "Defensive Shape" for example: also 20% priority for the Attacking and GK unit...but a LOT more things being impacted, so impact is divided between "upcoming match", "tactical familiarity", "individual roles"... And that's the exact reason why I personally prefer the sessions that only have "individual roles" impacted, IF my goal is to focus on that individual training.
      Concerning "Match Practice": I literally say in the video that I don't JUST use it in pre-season, but I use it a LOT in pre-season. But same story again though: that session impacts a LOT of things, so the impact is divided. So I don't agree with you saying "It is very good because it improves the individual attributes of your players to the maximum". Yes, I absolutely love the "Match Practice" session and it has "an impact" on individual roles, but it's definately not my session of choice IF I want to focus on individual training, because it impacts a bunch of other things as well.
      Hope this explanation makes sense? Let me know! Thanks again! 🙂

    • @kouvaras13
      @kouvaras13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Leyodemus What do you mean when you say WHOLE 20% goes to the Attributes, when the 3 I mentioned give you 100% at all to Atributes = ''Individual Roles''.
      I agree that many more things are affected, but you do not care when we talk about player development. After all, the purpose of training (beyond pre season, fitness, cohesion and how quickly the players will learn your tactics) is to develop the attributes of your players. So your goal is to give them the right training that will maximize their attributes. Of course, the training facilities, your staff and the mentoring will play a big role in this, but the combination of all of them together with the training will give you great results. I did not say that your proposals are wrong, but your players will not develop much. Try what I told you and you will see a huge difference. Thanks 😉
