At the very least, their musicians seems to be in general very brave and bold to mix and match wide ranges of genre of music together, and sometimes even use those fusion of music for games that you wouldn't expect to have. I mean, one example would be the Gran Turismo series, where I think most people outside of Japan wouldn't have thought jazz would fit a racing game so well that it literally turned into something magical.
I've got to admit when the second part of the Malenia theme started I started shaking because I thought I was going to the second phase of the fight again 😅 It is such an iconic theme of the game, probably one that we heard more than what we would have liked 😅 It's really amazing to see these music peaces get played in a concert by a National Symphony Orcestra. For us, who know this piece of music from the game it just strengthens the felling that Elden Ring does not have just amazing visual and game design, but also amazing music that is worthy of playing in a big concert like this. I hope game music will spread more and more and more people can get to know the amazing music games has to offer.
I consider this theme to be one of Kitamura's major musical achievements, along with Abyss Watchers and Lady Maria. This will be extremely difficult to implement

What an Orchestra performance Masterpiece of the Elden Ring game music theme and Milenia, Blade of Miquella. The Devs of FromSoftware Inc. and composers Tsukasa Saitoh/Yuka Kitamura should be proud. This is how it was meant to be played and live. I would have done anything to see this live. I absolutely love Elden Ring! A masterpiece of a game and a game like no other. 10/10 hands down. This is epic, and so interesting to hear this music in a different version from the original. Thanks! I hope to hear other pieces from the soulsborne games in the future. They start with the game intro music from the main menu (just called Elden Ring), then transition to the Malenia phase 1 music at 1:27 and finally to the phase 2 music at 3:03
@@aryaeliadel3094 I would agree, if it wasn't for a couple of things: First, this version has the quiet intro with the harp, and the sliding strings, which is not in the final battle track, and secondly, the choir part in the final battle is not the same as what they are doing here: The final battle choir only has notes on the first and second beats of each bar, whereas this version has notes on all 4 beats. And I just now put on my headphones and listened to the original Elden Ring track, and I think the choir part is actually there. It's just mixed waaaay quieter than in this version. It gets a lot more audible a little later in the track.

First time I saw Malenia trigger into her second phase I almost burst out crying. I had just so many emotions mix in about it. Desperation, knowing that all the hours spent on the first phase were just the beginning, awe at the visual spectacle of the Scarlet Aeonia bursting in front of me, commotion of beauty for the music

The Japanese really are the current kings of orchestral themes.
And video game music in general IMO. Even back in the 90s their soundtrack for Nintendo games are very memorable and fitting.
