It's always fantastic when music from games get shown off to another audience. There are so many pieces that would go well in a modern day symphony and to finally see it happen is amazing
Agreed, maybe except w the modern day symphony part, but not bc this piece is bad. VGM music going under appreciated is such a shame when fantastic compositions like this exist, despite not being post-tonal
Game music absolutely destroys Hollywood music becuase gaming hasn't been taken over by the droning Han Zimmer rip offs with no melodies or hooks yet that have completely taken over film

@@Teeheehee093Have to add emphasis that Doom and Doom Eternal have insane sound tracks. Its such a well crafted game that the music just flows with the combat. I love it!

Fromsoftware needs to go on tour with an orchestra, just go around playing the songs from the games. That would be amazing to hear these pieces live.

The Japanese really are the current kings of orchestral themes.
And video game music in general IMO. Even back in the 90s their soundtrack for Nintendo games are very memorable and fitting.

At the very least, their musicians seems to be in general very brave and bold to mix and match wide ranges of genre of music together, and sometimes even use those fusion of music for games that you wouldn't expect to have.
I mean, one example would be the Gran Turismo series, where I think most people outside of Japan wouldn't have thought jazz would fit a racing game so well that it literally turned into something magical.
Yoko Shimomura and Masayoshi Soken are proof of this.
They completely nailed Malenia's theme! Amazing performance.
Yea, the reason the main theme was a bit underwhelming is probably because FromSoft added some post-recording effects, that an orchestra can't replicate

Wouah the rendition of Malenia Theme is amazing ! They clearly show the potential of a full Elden Ring orchestra or any souls games.
I've got to admit when the second part of the Malenia theme started I started shaking because I thought I was going to the second phase of the fight again 😅 It is such an iconic theme of the game, probably one that we heard more than what we would have liked 😅
It's really amazing to see these music peaces get played in a concert by a National Symphony Orcestra. For us, who know this piece of music from the game it just strengthens the felling that Elden Ring does not have just amazing visual and game design, but also amazing music that is worthy of playing in a big concert like this.
I hope game music will spread more and more and more people can get to know the amazing music games has to offer.

Fantastic performance. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is top notch, always delivering beyond its public's expectations. Bravo for all of the individually talented musicians and choir singers that make possible this amazing soundtrack rendition to be spread to a wider audience.

THat Malenia Phase 2 hits different. I normally dont pay attention to the music during the fight but i recognized it instinctively.

What an Orchestra performance Masterpiece of the Elden Ring game music theme and Milenia, Blade of Miquella. The Devs of FromSoftware Inc. and composers Tsukasa Saitoh/Yuka Kitamura should be proud. This is how it was meant to be played and live. I would have done anything to see this live. I absolutely love Elden Ring! A masterpiece of a game and a game like no other. 10/10 hands down. Now i wish for you to play "Erdtree Knights" AND "Final Battle". Thank you, Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Exceptional Performance.

This is epic, and so interesting to hear this music in a different version from the original. Thanks! I hope to hear other pieces from the soulsborne games in the future.
They start with the game intro music from the main menu (just called Elden Ring), then transition to the Malenia phase 1 music at 1:27 and finally to the phase 2 music at 3:03
The phase change part sounds even more powerful here than the game version. I almost teared up from epicness.
I actually think it was the first part of final battle instead of Elden Ring, it is the same but final battle has the choir in addition
@@aryaeliadel3094 I would agree, if it wasn't for a couple of things: First, this version has the quiet intro with the harp, and the sliding strings, which is not in the final battle track, and secondly, the choir part in the final battle is not the same as what they are doing here: The final battle choir only has notes on the first and second beats of each bar, whereas this version has notes on all 4 beats.
And I just now put on my headphones and listened to the original Elden Ring track, and I think the choir part is actually there. It's just mixed waaaay quieter than in this version. It gets a lot more audible a little later in the track.

@@aryaeliadel3094 I am not sure you are mistaken... I agree with you, that this version sounds quite different from the original Elden Ring track, with the choir being SO much more prominent here.
And also from what I think I can hear of the choir on the original Elden Ring track, they are singing exactly the same thing as on the Final Battle track, which is still not what they are singing in this version.
So in the end, the best I can tell, is that this version sounds like a kind of weird mix between the Elden Ring track and the Final Battle track 😅
