    It's really great that CookeTV doesn't just feature cinematographers that have used exclusively Cooke glass on their films. I think you are going about it the right way - creating a valuable cinematography resource with reputable talent, under the Cooke brand but not exclusive to it. Cheers!

    This is what I love most about filmmaking. All the effects you find necessary for your story need to be figured out and dealt with in a creative and professional way. If you happen to need to light scenes with candles it can set you on a journey where you discover all the different kinds of candles that are out there and more. Great video, I love it :)

    And to think that Barry Lyndon was shot on only 100 asa stock. You really would need an f0.7 lens.

    Fantastic video. Did he white balance the candles or are the candles he used just whiter than Kubrick's?

    Many candles are made with lead, so be careful about which ones you choose if working indoors. Would be interesting to see a comparison to the Sony A7s II with the Arri.

    • @overnightclassic2
      @overnightclassic2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      A7sII is garbage for professional work. It's a really bad 8 bit codec and the rolling shutter is not good either. It also has a weak 12 stops of dynamic range vs. the Arri. A7sII is not a cinematic camera and that's why it's never been used on a cinema or TV feature.

    Too many candles! I’m sure in Tudor times they would be much more used to low light levels and were happy with far fewer.

    • @caligulalonghbottom2629
      @caligulalonghbottom2629 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the trial scene looked ridiculous to me, like 20 30 arm floor candelabras... they couldnt have afforded to light rooms like that all the time, candles were very expensive.
