How To Know If You’re “IN LOVE” | our story, love vs lust, confusing feelings, the ONE!

  • This topic if HUGE! Knowing and living the correct definition of love versus what the world defines it as is paramount (big word alert) to our success in relationships. Knowing why you are doing something is just as important as your strategy to accomplish what you're doing... We can't get so caught up in pursuing a relationship and trying to get married that we forget why we desire a relationship in the first place. But trust us. It's easy for that to happen. Then you wake up one day, you have a lot of baggage from failed relationships and now we are viewing people we want to be with from a selfish and broken point of view because it becomes how can this person fit into OUR world and fulfill what WE need. We can't live like that. We need to find out WHY we are going after things and then set a healthy plan for our to pursue them. It will protect not only our hearts, but the precious hearts of others. After all, that's how Jesus lived. Anyways, I'll step off my soap box. lol
    Love yall mucho,

      Dear Tori & Chad,
      I want to thank and encourage you for your TH-cam content. I rarely follow youtubers secular or Christian and there are many cute Christian couple youtubers.
      What made me subscribe you is that:
      1. Your Love for the Lord.
      You people are very passionate about Lord Jesus and your relationship and videos are centred around Him. (Almost all Christian couple youtubers are just entertainers. If I really want to get entertained I would go to secular youtubers they are better at it.) And you I must say are not entertainers but evangelists.
      2. Your Love for each other.
      Trust me, I never thought that a Christian marriage can be that godly and fun like yours. Second reason I watch you is that you are not only lovers of Lord Jesus but because of Him your are madly in love with each other.
      3. Your Love for Others.
      You love spreading Gospel teachings. People of all faiths and even atheists love you.
      Suggestion: Whenever you do some challenge or fun videos, please avoid sexual/vulgar questions, it reduces the effectiveness and reputation of our Lord and yours as well.
      Lots of Love!
      From India.

      Wow, Vikas... That was powerful and really put into perspective why Tori and I do what we do... so thanks for such a humbling reminder that it is ABOUT JESUS and always should be ABOUT JESUS! We do try to be entertaining to a certain extent because we do want other people to see a joyful spirit filled life! But our hearts and passion are for encouraging people unto Christ! When people respond well to those videos, it means the world because that is our goal! So thanks so much for your encouragement, and wisdom (especially regarding your advice in #3)!Sending love to you in India!

    “They’re scared to not have sex with their boyfriend because they might leave” GIRL he’s not the right man for you if he’s pressuring you into something you don’t want to do AND if you’re trying to be someone else for him then that’s another red flag that!!!
    Don’t sacrifice your purity for his lust.

    • @65NART
      @65NART 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh please it takes two to tango. What about the women who pressure the men to get engaged, to move in together etc etc. You women are not as innocent as you profess to be.

    • @chaelibrunotte1693
      @chaelibrunotte1693 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@65NART I wasn't professing that I was innocent at all. I know I need jesus to cleanse me from my sins. I also know that I won't sacrifice my purity to please someone outside of the marriage covenant. We should all do the same as it is a form of respecting ourselves and the other person that might be involved.
      I agree it takes two to tango, but if he/she is pressuring you into doing something you're not comfortable with that's a red flag. period!
      Personally I wouldn't pressure any guy to propose, it truly is God's timing, if I am with a Godly man then I trust that he is obeying God in how to lead our relationship.
      "What about the women who pressure the men to get engaged, to move in together etc etc. " what about them? not sure if you finished your thought? Sounds like the relationship needs to be recentered and find it's why.
      I'm sorry that you've been hurt or seen other men hurt by women, dating can be messy.

  • @valerielinares2068
    @valerielinares2068 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    "It is not your job to fix them" 100% agree!! In addition to that, _because_ it isn't your job to fix them, if you try to fix them, you'll find yourself constantly exhausted and frustrated because they're not doing what you want them to do. The truth is, you can only control yourself. You can only make decisions for yourself. You can't make decisions for others of how they will feel, or what they will think, or believe. We, as humans, were not designed or intended to fix one another. That's the Father's job. Like you said, Tori, we can pray for them, encourage them, respect them, love on them all while remaining genuinely surrendered to the Father. And the Father can use us in this capacity that can lead to a positive change in our spouse. But changing them is not _our_ job, nor are we designed to do so.
    On a side note, when we're praying for our spouse, be prepared to pray that the Father helps them (your spouse) to become who He intended them to be - NOT pay that they fulfill any/every one of our selfish desires.

    We say "fall" in love because when we are attracted to someone, usually we can't control that. It's just that someone attracts you and you simply "fall" for them. Later, when you get into relationship, then you can eventually "walk" in love. One thing doesn't exclude the other.

    Like, if I only loved and admired my friends or a boyfriend because they were *my friend/significant other* then that is not fully valuing them as a person.

    From a personal experience, I was getting to know someone who definitely wasn't good for me. I thought it was my duty to "fix them", but I was hurting myself in the process. Your videos are not only so clear and provide so much guidance, but they have also helped me to understand what I need to be looking for in a person and how important and life-changing that can actually be. It took me a really long time to get over that person, because I lacked the guidance to see why I need to walk away. Thank you for being so opened and transparent!

    This gave me soo much perspective!! Thank you for this video. As someone who's and adult and never been in a relationship i have no experience to "rely" on so this video gave me soo many points to look out for. ❤

    Oh my goodness! I started crying when you talked about how Chad never complemented your looks. The way he is looking at you when you said "Do you not think that I'm pretty?" is just so amazing! Imma look for that in a husband, thanks so much for being great examples of that!

    I just discovered this channel and it has blessed me so much. I admire your honesty. It’s such a relief to find people who can give advice that leads to the right path because it’s based on scripture. Every video about relationships from people who don’t care about what God says it’s different and changes with culture. I’ve never had a serious relationship and I’m so happy I found your channel before I do

    Yaaaaas! Fellow Dutchies at the end! That was so cool!! Loved the tiny hands, hahahahaha!! 😆 This video was great again, Tori & Chad! ❤ I could relate to so many things! God's timing really is perfect. The Lord brought me a godly man at His apointed time and things are exactly what I prayed for. Bart and I are completely different from each other, but we are a great match. Only God can prepare such a thing! 🙌🏽 Bart and I are celibate until we're married, but we did cross a few lines in the past months. 🙈 We repented from that and now we're taking things down a notch. It actually felt like married life already because we spent so much time together, also with Bart's son of 9 years old. Tori, you inspired me to not give 'marital perks' anymore like cooking every day and feeling responsible for our little family. Fortunately Bart understood how I felt and agreed on going back to a dating phase again, instead of 'playing house every day'. 🏠 It was something I felt for a while already, but your videos confirmed it. Right now I'm all by myself eating snacks and bingewatching your vids. Tomorrow morning I will meet up with Bart and we'll go to church together. Afterwards I have to work again. Going back to 'date phase' feels so freeing! My mom passed away last year. It happened 1 month after Bart and I met each other, so we got into Serious Mode very fast. After my mom's stroke she breathed out her last breath after 3 weeks in the presence of Bart and me. I'm grateful my mom got to meet Bart the day before her stroke. God's timing and grace are always on point! 🙌🏽 He knew He would bring my mom home and therefore sent Bart my way. The man I truly prayed for. ❤
    To whoever is reading this:
    Wait on the Lord. ✨ His timing and will for our lives really is perfect! Even tho we don't always understand or agree with it. God knows best! He really does. 🙌🏽 Stay close to Jesus. Read your Bible and apply to your daily life what you've read. A waiting season isn't a wasted season when you spend it with Jesus. 👑 Big hug and blessings from the Netherlands! 🤗🙌🏽💕🌸

    I couldn't agree more about everything you've shared with us today,guys. I loved the part where Tori said about her commitmtent to walk in love with Chad. That's so deep! Falling in love with someone is something temporary, but walk in love with someone that is so different of you, requires time,effort patient, and too much understanding!
    Thanks for this wonderful content!

    Thanks for that inspiring thoughts!
    I like the term "walking in love" vs. "falling in love".
    And i love your interpretation of "being in love" vs. "being in lust". Cause, up to now i understood "being in love" as something like being in lust. And so being in love becomes something bad. This video really helps! Thanks :)

    I just wanted to share my story too, since this is such a friendly community!! I’m Orthodox Hindu, my Gf is Romanian and Catholic so we are from two different worlds. We met at a classical literature club at my college and have been together for a year now. Despite our cultural differences, our values are very much the same and so I think the fact that she has those values is something that drew me to her. I believe that the same God who made me also made her, and called me to be there for her. Whenever I’m having a horrible day at university or at work, she is a safe haven for me. She’s the motivation that Keeps me going at the gym, at work, at school. Thanks for making this video, it really hit home for me! And thanks for being so welcoming as a community to me, I do not know much of Christian faith, but I know how much you all hold God in your hearts and souls, as do I in my own way. So thank you, and have a wonderful day!

      @Anny AmayaAyala Well that is very kind of you haha but I am quite set in my Hindu practices. Believe it or not, we share a lot of values and the lifestyle of Hindus and Christians, although different in customs, is quite similar in general value systems. Anyways, thanks and God bless you!
