I'm an Italian living in Japan. Food here is great, probably one of the best in the world, but the food in my country is the only one that will ever and forever make me cry of joy, it's just undescribable... I miss it terribly. 😢
luckily your (food) is not difficult to make or is easy to find ingredients all over the world to make it, even if you are on the other side of the world, you just need dough, tomato and cheeeese then you can make practically every dish existing in italy
Initial D really? I think that you have never tried Italian cuisine... We don't have only pasta or pizza with tomatoes and mozzarella.... Do you know carbonara? Pasta fagioli e cozze (pasta with beans and mussels)? Italian pesto? Pasta with pumpkin? Fiorentina? Sausages and "friarielli"? Vaccinara tail? Casatiello?.... I can go on forever....
Alessio lannone Every cuisine has ingredients that aren't common, but with the way the world is today they are obtainable. Japan has one of the best seafood markets in the world, sure they won't be Mediterranean mussels, but it will be close enough. I live in the middle of America, away from the coasts, and I can make my traditional foods.
B. Reece I never say that you cannot find ingredients that are similar to the Italian ones. I answered to initial D: Italian food is not only tomatoes, cheese and pasta
For all those people attempting to make this sandwich at home ...Ingredients should be :oil , parmigiano , dry tomatoes , salad, Lemon juice, tomato, pecorino, ricotta ,olives(taggiasche Is the kind), cheese, raw onions, boiled potatoes and baked ham

one thing caught my attention is his generosity in offering cheese to his customers or by filling his sandwiches.. well, it's a fact that italians are the most generous people in europe.
This is more a southern Italy thing. Northern are quite "saving" and usually you pay more and/or get less. In fact North Italy is way richer than South. I still prefer North but southern folks are waaaaay more friendly people.

man this is sickingly good to the point that it looks like something your mother would do just for you, the fact that everything is cut and prepared right when you ask for instead of being pre cut/sliced/shreded like a tomato starts going bad the moment you slice it, you go to burger king and they have those tomatoes for hours just sitting there this is amazing
That is so true! The pandemic forced me to stay at home, and now, I just have 1 friend over at a time (providing nobody has had any symptoms for 2 weeks) and I cook, instead of going to restaurants like we used to. We're saving lots of money, and we are enjoying ourselves MORE than when we used to go out.
@@Zyzz710 Sure, without mentioning that and without mentioning it was said in Italian in the video. But you can be as braindead as you want, I'll be myself, in quite a contrast.

3:20 AM for me right now. Want to go buy ingredients and make this sandwich myself, lmao. Or just go the cheaper and lazy route and try to replicate it at Subway. Ah, 3:21 AM now.
I was floored by the last layer of the sandwich. I wasn't expecting that. 😂 Now I understand why he took out the soft inner part of the bread. To make room!
All the ingredients in order of comparison. Capslock when is cheese: Filoncino bread, olive oil, PARMESAN, dried ciliegini (sweet tomatoes) with basil, fresh salad (radicchio+lettuce+lemon juice and lemon zest), fresh tomatoes (Ramati), GRATED CACIOTTA, GRATED SHEEP RICOTTA (the same he serves on a plate in the meanwhile. The one in the plate has been aromatized at the moment with fresh garlic, olive oil and origano), more RICOTTA, olives, red sweet onions and some more dried ciliegini. The filling roll: Slices of a massive CACIOCAVALLO CHEESE, mashed potatoes with parsley and oil, ham, more RICOTTA, more sweet onions (with a drop of lemon this time), parsley. PS: For the italians mad to me for using the term "Parmesan", sorry. It's Parmigiano, the original one. Mo rilassatevi eh, che vi si alza la pressione e poi il dietologo vi toglie i paninazzi.

Italian language are very very pleasing to listen to and the places there are also very beautiful. The food, the historical places, arts, love it❤
I'm an Italian living in Japan.

He sliced lemon zest too
I went here on holiday couple years ago. In that region they mentioned him so we went and tried. It was in september, not as crowded and amazing weather. He made us 2 sandwiches with love. We tried to pay and he insisted we go enjoy the sandwich and the weather. And come back later to pay according to how much we enjoyed the sandwich.
We sat by the water 40 meters from there had some amazing food. U dont just eat their food. They teach u something. I have some great memories from that holiday. I would advise any foodie to visit east of sicilly. Its ridiculous what they do with fresh food.
Same thing on the west of Sicily.

@@BlowinFree i honestly dont remember the amount but i did pay even though he refused like twice. I think it was 2 bills of 10 or 2 bills of 5 euro no clue cant remember.
I love how none of you in the comments seems to be italian but still you appreciate so much the work and food that you can see in this video. I am so happy. Plus Sicilia is one of the most particular regions of Italia. The food is really amazing there, us italians too look upon Sicilia's food culture as one of the most genuine we have in our country.
It is a dream of mine to visit Sicily
So lovely. He makes making a sandwich an art form. God bless him for his hard-work.
I already knew this man was going to make my mouth water when he was generous with pouring the olive oil on the bread. I need to make my way over there and enjoy eating!
You can tell hes not really doing this for the money or else he would be rushing and trying to get that sandwich done as fast as possible but hes just enjoying what hes doing. Great man!

Oumayma Derbeli | that's the normal pace for food prep in Italy in general. Has nothing to do with not doing it for money. He earns his living this way.

What I like about Italian cuisine is that they don't rely on too many spices. Instead they go for fresh quality ingredients.
If only Americans could understand this and the fact that we don't use garlic that much..We don't even know what garlic bread is

This is Sicile. ...up another couple of notches from the main and when it comes to food.
This food looks better than Subway, Jersey Mike Subs, Firehouse Subs, and the Delis we have here in California...All the ingredients used here look fresh, have great flavor, and handmade. HIGH QUALITY FOOD. Well done, Sicilian society for showing us how much you care about your food...from harvest to home. In the U.S. we would call this person "a sandwich artist." But there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between food you find here in the U.S. and the food in Sicily. Just from watching this video, you can tell the food there in Sicily is much better than here in the U.S.

All the ingredients in order of comparison. Capslock when is cheese: Filoncino bread, olive oil, PARMESAN, dried ciliegini (sweet tomatoes) with basil, fresh salad (radicchio+lettuce+lemon juice and lemon zest), fresh tomatoes
(Ramati), GRATED CACIOTTA, GRATED SHEEP RICOTTA (the same he serves on a plate in the meanwhile.
