@@harveynailbanger its not the engine of the pinto that made the flames. It was the gas tank being in the rear of the car. With it's little toothpick bumper that made it such a fire hazard. But now it's really no different than any other tbucket.

That’s his dad and my son! Otherwise, he’d have been at home on his phone playing Roblox or GTA or Fortnite or some other crazy game. I’m glad he got to spend time with his dad and being able to be on GMG. He didn’t think it was cool but hopefully he’ll realize it when he gets older!

That's actually really cool, with new wheels and tires and a few traditional touch ups it's gonna be a great little hot rod, even with the pinto. I had an old euro Ford with a 2.0l and those things can be legit fun in a light enough platform, which this definitely is. I'd buy it.

Right on....Esslinger Engneering...can get some serious reliable high horse power at that Pinto motor.
I had a sandrail with a 2.3 motor... and wanted to buy some of their parts...but it was a modified backyard project, and I had no garage.
I Moved on to C5 Corvettes.
Have a 2.3 as a spare for my 81 pinto. Did a cosworth swap and it's insane now.😄
My son's dad, the truck driver in the video, had a 94? Ford Ranger standard cab pickup that had the 2.3L. It was a suped up pinto motor as it had 8 plugs instead of 4.

car looks amazing.. kinda funny when you stopped at the end of the video you saw a washer fly off.
I think this car will sell fast! Even with a 4 cylinder engine, its still a cool kit car. This is a great summer car, engine doesn't sound much but im sure its fast considering how lightweight it is. And for 5 grand it wasn't even super expensive to bring in. With right tuning and coloring I think this will sell for around 8.5-9 even 10.
Put one of those ford Australia barra turbo 6cyl motors in it
What I wanna know is how Richard pulled off taking that 67 black Gt390 off of Dennis. You can see it in the background. I truly wonder how much he got that car for. In the current condition that was a 55-65k car all day long.
He quite often stores cars for Dennis when he doesn't want his wife to see them. He stated that before in the tv show

It's actually kind of cool I'd keep the same color and put the white stripe on it well it's a pinto motor you know you can build those engines now they're actually pretty quick when you build them up and put a four-barrel on it

The lil 2.0 pinto is cool old engine. Used to help tune them back in the day. Blueprint the engine, closely balanced rods and pstons, nicely polished and ported head, electronic ignition and running a well set up weber carb and that little lightweight car would be great fun. Or swap it out for the twin cam version like in the Ford Sierra Cosworth, that would certainly make it fly

i built one for 7k it had a 2019 6.2L Demon V8 700+ hp engine in it... still got it, a lot of fun on open roads...
Did you get a written off demon or something, can't imagine you could get a 6.2 s/c hemi for less than 7k? Certainly not with a drivetrain.
@@sionlow69 it was a 2019 from a write off bmw, engine was perfect... dont need drive train just the engine and gear box, modified to fit a chassis from a vw bug, changed to disc brakes, and a few other mods...

That is a road going go cart! Shine up the paint, paint the engine Ford engine blue, rework the exhaust pipe, and drive that puppy. It weighs maybe 1100 pounds so with that little 90 to 110 hp 2.3L pinto engine, it will scoot that thing along quite well. If you really want to do nuts, drop a 300 hp eco boost with the 6 speed from a mustang into it. You might want to upgrade the brakes and suspension if you do that though. I kinda like the existing motor package though. I would rewire it so you don’t have to turn on every switch on the dash to start it.
Not everything need to have small block, would be nasty with fully build 4 cyl turbo :D

Put a motor from a something like a WRX STI, a Civic Type R, a Focus RS. Leave it factory or hop it up with some go fast goodies and that light little thing would surprise the hell out of the Fast and Furious wannabes out there!
