He retired from Ford in 1998. He sold the car to another Ford PDC employee in Carrollton TX, where he was the Traffic Manager. I always wondered what happened after the car was sold. It had so many rare options.

He had a week old Mustang hardtop with rally pack and pony interior. He paid $989 - cost plus 10% a special deal that the upper management got on a car every 2 years. After he retired he had a Lincoln for $135 a month insurance and maint included with a replacement every 20,000 miles. Rank has its privileges.

99.9% sure my grandpa ( step moms step dad lol) had a black convertible 64.5 mustang. Original top. Wood grain from what I can remember for the dash and center console was wood. All original everything. He used to wash it twice a year and would start it every few weeks. Drove down his driveway and back. Had less than 3k miles on it. This was 99’. After he died his family took it and sold it I believe for around 30k.
That beauty was under 3 grand new. (of course I made about $1.25 / hr pumping gas back then) She thought that 60 G's was a win. Boy was she wrong. I could see a couple collectors at Barret-Jackson drive the price into the stratosphere.
