That’s the conversation I had yesterday at a car show. With a dreamer eye balling a beautiful 58 Corvette. The guy is asking what’s it worth, what’s it worth. It’s worth what someone or two are willing to pay. There is a big demand for appraisals up here in Quebec, cause the government won’t transfer ownership with out an appraisal so they can collect the taxes. So you have a roller-coster ride of appraisals going on. The government to collect taxes, the insurance companies want to have appraisals to see what the value they will have to pay out in case of a write off. It’s cooling down the hobby that’s for sure.
Hobby has been over inflating for years. Old cars has been over rated and over inflated for years. RIch people overpaying for old cars. I mean come on, most of these so called collectables were just mass produced cheap alternatives to custom built real good cars. I mean a 65 corvette is probably really worth some factor more than a 65 Pontiac Bonneville or about the same really. It’s all so crazy how this has gone.

It's sad to see what the old car hobby has descended to; rich people buying and selling these cars like stocks on the stock market. This has driven prices for these old cars into the stratosphere where the average person can not afford them anymore. The old car hobby has been ruined. :(
I am LOL at some of the ignorant posts from people replying to this video. It’s obvious they have never bought from an estate, especially the entire estate. Hell they never even bought any high dollar vintage vehicles or ever paid the time plus cost to restore one. This is a huge gamble. If you have the money to put up, the means to transport, store, renovate and resell you also have to make some profit for all that expense and gambling.
Lots of time money, transport, overhead ,people don't work free of charge and knowledgeable employees are not cheap The economy is tanking that will hit the market if it hasn't already

@@john_clay_wolfe You limit yourself by going to auction companies like Murcum. Since the woman has no desire to fix them, I hope that I have my memory straight as to who is getting rid of these autos, I have seen bidding wars over scrap. Then the seller should get them running and ready to sell for top dollar if that's what they're wanting. They are only worth what people are willing to pay. She can sell them piece by piece and spend a lot of time trying to do that, or she can take what's offered for the whole lot, and be done with it.
I do this on a much smaller scale. These old lumps have been sitting around unused for 20 years. You have to figure that into it, and that brings the price down. A couple cracked blocks and the next thing you know you lose.
@@brotherpaulv nobody knows what people are willing to pay. She shouldnt have to take a loss for someone elses benefit. Dont buy if you dont want it that bad. Also dont bully a 70 year old female, not a good look.
@@jaceski5806 Nobody was being a bully first of all And second of all what are you talking about a loss she has $0 invested in them cars
@@dakotaautosales9673 does she not own them? What do you mean zero invested? She didnt buy them?
Like Richardson man have an auction at the property
Sooner or later your assets become your liability’s sell early before it becomes your family’s problem most won’t know what you’re collection is worth and they will get screwed
Never seen a bigger bunch of hustlers on TH-cam.
dat be a boatload of killer Vettes'. ! Sic'um
$600k would be a deal for the cars, $800 is probably good retail. It's always a gamble. The transport would be closer to $30k than the $50k stated.
All those cars together are worth more than you're offering. Screwing someone over to make a profit is just not something I would do.
Then go buy them.
Why the HELL would they go there to NOT make a profit????😂😂
@@joshmclanahan5628 a profit can be made WITHOUT SCREWING SOMEONE OVER!!
Find someone who has that much liquid cash too man. Your market is slim.
Money is made on the buy.
I am like Jose Monkey, I found the location.. LOL
But anyway, looking forward to the follow up video.
Okay that was pretty cool video I subscribed.. I like your aviator glasses that's also my preference
Thanks for the sub!
Nice collection nice lady but yall are trying to take her for a ride.
She's not living in the real world with her idea of values.
They just need to stay in tx
I get why certain sellers want the money they want but with deals like that one, the seller needs to understand that in the end, y'all need to be able to,
1) Make back what you paid for a vehicle.
2) Make back what you paid to transport it.
3) Make back what it costs to get it in shape and running ready to sell.
4) Make back what it costs you to travel there and back to buy the vehicle.
5) Turn a decent profit.
6) Or it wasn't worth your time.
That is the new buyers problem. Not the seller
@@jaceski5806 Well nooo shit... But the seller wanting/needing to sell them isn't going to find a buyer if their prices are to high.
This video clearly shows that.
She's been trying to sell those vehicles and boats for 2 years, and nobody is buying them because her prices are too high.
@@calvinh.8882 and they will be higher in two more years…
@@calvinh.8882 and apparently she doesnt “need” to sell them
@@calvinh.8882 its not her job to make sure you make money, its “YOUR” job. If you dont like it quit posting videos about it.
Nice cool Beetle tho
Damn...I been listening to the jcw show for many years. Didn't realize he was one of the yellow glasses types..alot of lebowski...goin on...😂 and wtf
..you used to be funny. Step it up john. Cheese and rice.used cat salesman are funny...been there done that....let me get the car count...1000 a pop to haul em..buy wholesale sell retail..sentimental value....Richard thinking about buying the whole place.
She’s been watching Barrett and Mecum and she’s writing down what the cars sell for. She needs to understand that if it’s 23 cars and $10k to get each car restored and running/driving for sale, that’s a lot of money
And they charge 8-10% fee to sell them
It's sad to see what the old car hobby has descended to; rich people buying and selling these cars like stocks on the stock market. This has driven prices for these old cars into the stratosphere where the average person can not afford them anymore. The old car hobby has been ruined. :(
True
John Clay did you ever do radio your voice is perfect for it lol
“I did perform some summer stock one season, but that was ages ago” Ross Buckingham
Are these cars sitting in an old car dealership?
Hey Richard is that gray hair your sporting?
You can't fight sentimental value. She should have someone go through and auction them.
how about Hagerty are they good on classic prices.
This lady needs to hire a consultant to put real numbers on these cars so she can sell for a realistic number.
Lots of time money, transport, overhead ,people don't work free of charge and knowledgeable employees are not cheap The economy is tanking that will hit the market if it hasn't already
"The market"? Is this about buying and selling stocks?
@@HiTechOilCo automobile market auctions
If mine, I would allow it to go to auction and let those individuals who buy the rigs, set their own value or loss of money spent. I believe a large enough advertising and people involved will give a better price per rig.
Remember, auctions charge a lot of fees
@@john_clay_wolfe You limit yourself by going to auction companies like Murcum. I know several auction companies that are glad to have a commission in small sale, large sale, and barter for differences due to this time of unrest. Towns are going bankrupt and so any money is big money. Since the woman has no desire to fix them, I hope that I have my memory straight as to who is getting rid of these autos, I have seen bidding wars over scrap. Until this country starts its rebound of their economy and thats going to take a lot of time. I am a older person who had parents who lived during the great depression. Our economy right now is at a point of a larger depression than that of the thirties. I have went through two major recessions and and this now is worse than those. People who are in housing under the care of individuals who are caretakers, feed cat and dog food to people. No matter of race or sex, this is the worst of bad times. Banks are going to fail if this election goes sideways. Only thing keeping people alive right now is the internet has those who have some to spare help those who have it badly. I myself am living on less than a thousand dollars. I have rent and food, plus some medical bills so I and my old dog are not doing so handsome either.
