I had a 79 crew cab short bed 4x4 with 400ci auto. 36 inch military tires big lift it was a beast. My tiny wife would drive it to the store and get out and shame the guys in their little trucks, it was funny.

$2K for the crew cab, even for parts is pretty damn cheap. You just don't see these trucks in Texas, well except for the one I have.
In 1988 I drove 100 miles to a town I’d never been to to buy some used Truck Parts. When I got there I found that the description of condition was not at all accurate and the price was changing. Nine years later I bought a smalltown Chevy dealership in that same small town and the parts manager was the same guy who had tried to jack me years earlier.
I decided that day that I wanted to find a different parts manager.
