    Engine vibration? What I would recommend first is to replace all the electrolytic capacitors in your ECU. They are 30 years old and several are more than likely leaking. It's like $10 in parts. Don't buy cheap ones. After doing this on my MK4, the engine runs so smooth. None of those little tweaks and quirks, just smooth. Go to the Supra forums if you want to learn more details about replacing the ECU capacitors.

      The motor is getting swapped over the winter, and getting a haltech elite 2500. But I appreciate the advice. Im having a ton of ecu related issues on my jza70 even after paying Relentless Motorsports in texas 700 to replace the capacitors.

    For the seatbelt try beeswax polish. Pull out the belt and spray it on

    I have a 96 Soarer 2jz GE and its sadly even an auto but i still have such a blast even without a turbo, i hope i can eventually manual swap and go NA-T.

      I think if this was my only car, and I didnt hold it to such a high expectations, i would enjoy it more. Thats cool you have a soarer. Those seem underrated and you can get them with "Gods motor" (1jzgte)

      @@Idoubbleyou yea i would've loved a 1jz gte but at the time i was just dying to have the chassis in general, the NA 2jz was alot cheaper. In some ways yes i regret not just saving up for a oem manual turbo soarer but oh well im just happy i own the car i always wanted. I can always swap things over time so make it my own.

    BEAUTIFUL choice in Enkeis. Very similar to what I have. I would have liked to hear your opinion on this baby vs the MK3 more. I'll never be able to afford an MK4, or if I could, it probably wouldn't be worth it, I already have a Supra and that's more than good enough for me. I frankly just like the MK3 better and you CANNOT tell me you don't enjoy the interior quality and seats better! Is the steering as light as the MK3? Mine feels like a damn feather while my MK7 Celica is heavy. On the topic of your seatbelt complaint, my MK3 recently started making a ton of noise so maybe the spring or something is shot (if you have any maroon driver's belts PLEASE let me know).
    Overall, I'm very glad you have one of these, but I feel like the build quality isn't nearly up to the levels the MK3 is, but this is also a pure sports car and the MK3 is a purpose built GT cruiser and also the nicest car Toyota ever built for CONSUMERS at that time (no Lexus). The MK3 is just stupidly plush and luxury and a blast to drive, even with the 7M-GE.

      Thats a great idea for a future video. Mk3 (jza70) vs mk4 (jza80) The jza70 is alot closer to a mk4 in my opinion just because it has a jz too. The steering does feel good in both cars ill have to drive them the day i do the video just to remember them 100%.. Oh and yea I have some maroon seat belts send me a message on Instagram its linked in my video description i can help you out.

    Expected you to explain technical aspects of the car. So I'll do it for you:
    1- Because the rounded body cannot manage properly the airflow, the A80 is mostly suited for speed trials. Like any Savanna FD, if you really want to make it competitive in the circuit, you'll need a lot of splitters, side skirts and big wings.
    2- You can achieve a near-perfect weight distribution by installing the 4 cylinder engine instead of the 6 cylinder. Toyota engineers pushed back the mountings to make it more "midship", also helping in braking performance. Fun fact: the Supra held a 70-0 stopping record at 45 meters, only to be broken years later by the Carrera GT with 44 meters.
    3- Compared with the old generations, the A80 interior is kinda claustrophobic and cheap due to its "driver centric" disposition. The A70 feels more complete and friendly.
    4- Lack of pop-up headlights. Simply a bummer to me.
    5- Overpricing and overhyping makes me difficult to interact with the "takeover crowd" and even owners, especially because I actually have a mechanic service background so... I have better arguments to look under their skin.
    6- For the actual prices on the used car market, you can have more performance for a fraction of the cost by jumping in malaised (1982-2002) V6 Camaros and Mustangs. Even the "boring" 90s-00s Mercedes, Audis or BMWs can have a more delightful running due to higher quality standards of european manufacturers after 30 years and on.
    7- Aftermarket is vast, but expensive, for the A80. Old stock parts aren't that good and fittings (especially plastic pins) can be difficult to find. No doubt many are just tuned for (re)sale.
    8- The 6-speed box is perhaps the best part of the entire car, but there's better aftermarket forged 6-speed manual boxes nowadays.
    9- Given the complexity of the A80, I'd rather buy the A90 "bayern" Supra. A plenty of BMW parts are interchangeable and you can seriously upgrade the interior and make it more luxurious if you want. Still Toyota? Buy an old Soarer/Lexus instead, but don't blame the weight.
    10- Maybe the Supra is not for you. Try a Celica AWD or Mido G-limited instead. Even the Corolla had AWD versions that stuns Lancers and Imprezas. 20-vavle 10.000 rpm anyone?

    • @rushnerd

      I think the MK3 is just hands-down the better car and you can still throw a 2J in it. It's the only reasonably priced Supra there is, but yes it's very hard to find good ones. The interior of the A80 is just so cheap and spartan compared to the A70, sure they are completely different cars from different eras and made for different things, but seriously, you are NOT beating an A70 on looks or build quality. AWD 6th Gen Celica is stupid rare and expensive in the states, I'd still love one, but I settled for the 7th gen and the 2ZZ more than makes up for it.

    • @Idoubbleyou

      @rushnerd I agree. Every time I see my supras together my mk4 feels so boring.. and my mk3 just looks gangster. I love how my mk3 looks, but it makes me feel like im back in highschool.

      @@Idoubbleyou I hear endlessly like how the MK3 and my 7th gen Celica were a lot of kids first cars and I'm like you MF, I'm 38 and I poured SO MUCH MONEY just to even have these things in present day LOL. It's fine. They are still apricating in value.

    This is actually a very common experience for folks that buy a GE after seeing the history of the MKIV. To be honest it's about on par with a camry, almost. My first MKIV was NA auto, but at least you have the v161 for some spirited fun. You might find it's a pleasure to drive if you give all the bushings/suspension bits a refresh, while you collect parts for the swap. Hope you keep with it, and don't go overboard with power mods like I did, I'm in the middle of detuning a bit, so to speak. Also if you ever sell those HKS mats let me know! haha
    *Edit* I just checked out your other vid, nice A70!

    • @Idoubbleyou
      @Idoubbleyou  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, and thanks for watching. I think Ill enjoy it more when i get the motor done, and do the bushings like you said. Im really wanting 500hp on pump gas. I dont want to fall down the building rabbit hole and i honestly dont really enjoy working on cars I would rather drive them... you said your detuning yours. In a world of overbuilt supras thats almost relieving to hear..whats your goal?

    • @Boostguru
      @Boostguru หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Idoubbleyou yeah honestly that 500hp goal is plenty to enjoy and it can thrive there for a long long time. Have you considered going NA-T? For your goals it’s more than doable and might save you some headache along with some coin. As for your complaint about stuff breaking, it happens sure, but for the most part keeping up with the car is pretty minimal after the the initial investment of making sure it’s squared away. Yeah I’ll be detuning a bit, less aggressive clutch, downsize turbo (currently gen 2 7675) so I have more useable powerband, I just got my new wheels and tires so I can actually enjoy turning the car for mountain runs and whatnot (car was on Mickey thompsons prior) and mainly suspension bits. I checked off the quad digit power box, it was fun but short lived since I outgrew the go fast phase nor do I do any street action anymore. Looking forward to your journey with the car 👍

      @Boostguru Yours was built built. I see, Thats cool you got to experience it. I would go NA-T but I already have a 2jzgte non vvti from a mk3 parts car. I just finished refreshing it with a new oem oil pump, water pump, reseal kit, and other maintenance stuff. PHR cam gears ton of powder coating. I need another 3-4k in parts (plus stuff i forgot about) then its fab work and a tune. Hopefully by spring it will be ready. gotta save a little money
