I think the fact that he kept a twin turbo as a post to go and single, is a great thing. Honestly, for me, A 500 hp twin turbo car with a lot less lag would be ideal.

I'll never forget the ride in my brothers mates Supra import years ago (approx 420bhp) - he went for an impossible overtake. I thought this is fast as the first turbo kicked in and then all hell broke loose when the 2nd one kicked in and we passed around 10 cars in a few seconds at warp factor 8. He then hit the brakes as he didn't want to lose his licence.

people take for granted that upping the power results in better 0-100 times. Well in a lot of cases it does not. If it narrows the powerband (only from 5000-7000 in this car) and you don't go along with suspensions, diff and tires to get more grip and a balanced launch.

@@mounir347 So right: I have driven the new 911 Turbo S, and it makes sub 3 second 0-60 times the realm of grandmothers: you really don't need any skill whatsoever, the software optimises the engine, autobox etc for insane times. Younger people who have only started driving past 10 years don't know what animals higher powered cars were in the 1990s, even into the 2000s. You needed to carefully judge the road surface, match the revs for the optimal grip / spin with a manual that often had a long throw and a tricky, heavy clutch.
Awesome car. I really like what the owner has done with the interior as well as the powertrain. I like the idea of keeping the twin turbo system in place. Yeah, the power and massive surge you get with a single turbo is fun but I like having some power delivery a little lower down in the rev range, relatively speaking when it comes to these cars. I remember Matt Farah drove one built by Titan Motorsports down in Florida which had a similar amount of power and based on that video as well as this one, 700 hp seems to be a really nice spot to be at. It appears to have enough power to keep it feeling fast in this day and age but not so much that it’s too hard to control. I bet engine internals last longer too. Either way, I can’t wait to see it again when it’s making more power.
I think the two turbos spool together at the same point in time. They aren't sequential, they are parallel, the extra power you are noticing is probably the high lift cams

Finally someone added a diffuser to the TRD rear bumper. But I will replace that front splitter lip without that middle section splitter. Along with front canards on the sides. Also a Black Carbon GT Wing. That will bring the car to look 2020s. This car is still timeless but looks so early-mid 2010s in that style. Black wheels look better than red.

They made the Toyota supra in the 1990s and the performance was not bad it was good competing with the r34 Nissan GTR. This car is increasing in price because of how rare it is and people really want one like me ( Extra fact: this is the same situation for the GTR ). This car is one of my favorite and the reasons being is the way it looks ( very unique design and nothing seems to look like it ), the 2jz engine ( and engine that you can tune a lot and it is a very fun engine and the two turbos are amazing when they spool up ), the number of options to modify the car is amazing. Those Greddy aftermarket turbos are a parallel setup, meaning they are both spinning all the time. They are not sequential like the stock system, so all you felt was the extra grunt once they both spooled up together. Fun video!
this is what I was thinking, pretty sure these are setup like a TTC conversion on twins where they both just come on at 3.5-4k same as I have mine setup. Same reason he completely bogs off the line cause it's basically NA until 4k

Love this Mat. It’s exactly what brings emotion to carpeople. In the end the feeling that you experience is what makes you smile driving a car like this. Even driving a smart roadster with only 100Hp brings a bigger smile on you face than an Electric car. And yes, please show more of these kind of cars. Suggestion: some old Porsches. Like Sc Rs, Carrera Rs. Or old Alfa like gtv. Giullietta Spint Speciale. Etc etc.
Searched for this. I'll work my best to engineer solutions out of this mess but the only solution for me now is owning old, used cars and maintaining them for the next several decades.

Love this Mat. It’s exactly what brings emotion to carpeople. In the end the feeling that you experience is what makes you smile driving a car like this. Even driving a smart roadster with only 100Hp brings a bigger smile on you face than an Electric car.
And yes, please show more of these kind of cars.
Suggestion: some old Porsches. Like Sc Rs, Carrera Rs. Or old Alfa like gtv. Giullietta Spint Speciale. Etc etc.
Searched for this. I'll work my best to engineer solutions out of this mess but the only solution for me now is owning old, used cars and maintaining them for the next several decades.

Matt, this supra doesnt have a 1st turbo coming in and then a 2nd one. This is a converted to a parallel setup, its not sequential anymore.
This dude basically removed all of the value of that special edition. I mean, it's your car, do your thing, but damn.
Yea, to each their own, but to take the special edition track spec and then remove anything to do with the track spec, is an odd decision.
Could do that to any MK4, but I guess he wanted the limited edition.
Eh, the owners taking the car to the point that when he jumps from 700 to 1500HP there will soon be 15 instead of 16 cars left. The car will be an absolutely shitty street car with that much power.
