I know USDM mk3s were 22k-28k depending on year and spec back in the day (Roughly) Not sure on JZA70s. I wish I had those brochures/owners manuals.

Oh yea I did miss the super monitor. I have one of those in a box.. Only ever owned 1 out of 60ish supras.. Are you sure about the clock color? I have multiple 87s and none of them are teal.. all green

@@Idoubbleyou might actually be an 86.5 thing. I had an 86.5, 89, and 92 at the same time, so the entire spectrum! Also some pre 89s are prewired for it, they have the plug just tucked away behind the lower steering wheel cover

Thats a good idea but im not a big 7M guy. My personal Mk3s will always have a JZ in them. I see to many people dump crazy money into 7Ms for the. to still blow up. Without getting paid for making a video on it its not something im wanting to dump my own money into

That one sounds familiar I remember someone was telling me they knew of one just like that. I dont even want to know how hard it would be to get a title for a Jdm car without the proper paperwork.

I hope you can get it. that would be so cool. So there is alot of stuff once a car sits. I would highly recommend replacing or atleast checking the brake lines (The metal ones on my one car rusted and leaked) and the old rubber ones on the end crack with age. It will probably need bushings and ening vaccum lines, I would flush all the fluids and put in new fluid everywhere.

@Idoubbleyou Gotcha. I had a feeling all the rubber would need some looking at. As it is a targa, I'll use that stuff you mentioned on the rubber and whatnot. And if my funds allow, I'll try to do a full flush of everything. It looks pretty mint, but me and my dad will surely check it out indepth, as I know it's an old car that even with the low miles it has will probably be plagued with electrical issues. But thank you for the swift response. If I get it, I'll be sure to check out your site if by chance it needs anything!

@@Idoubbleyou Also, one more thing! Supposedly, according to the two older folks that own it, the turbo blew, and then I suppose it sat after. What do you think could cause that? Maybe not letting the turbo cool down? If there's any words of advice, I'd love to hear.

@NissanR397 I would bet the car has a blown headgasket. And the car was burning coolant I dont see alot of them with blown turbos. if thats actually the case it would be a fairly simple fix minus the bolts that will break when replacing it. Now the headgasket issue if thats bad will be a slippery and expensive slope.

@Idoubbleyou I see... I don't really know how to respond to that as it's so two-sided, as one could be no biggie, and the other could spell the end, but I suppose we will see what comes of it down the road. If it really does have a BHG, then I either don't pick it up at all, or use it as a huge bargaining chip... As I said, only time will tell with it. But again, thank you for the help. You've shined a whole new light on the idea of it, good and bad, so I appreciate the unfiltered honesty.

I have talked to owners all around the world. You can still probably find one in your country. Were they ever sold there?

@Idoubbleyou no, brazil only started importing cars after 93, and toyota only imported corollas and camrys, there are 2 mk3 for sale that were imported recently after they made 30 years (similar to the 25y law in the us), but they are overpriced, like 30k dollars for an automatic non turbo. This price is equivalent to 129 months of minimum wage here, completly unaccessible.

@Idoubbleyou what engine swap would you consider doing if not a stock mgte? I've considered doing a k24/k20 swap, an inline 6 bmw engine, or even possibly a coyote, although the coyote would be pretty expensive and extensive. I really like the k24 block with k20 head bc its small, and there's alot of aftermarket support for it. There's also an adaptor to slap it to the s2000 trans.

Same, the Army makes you retake the MSF at every post you go to. Amd I ride a 1100 shadow, but I was having an absolute blast on the KLX. Made me open up FB marketplace and started searching lol.

Im excited to take my class in the spring and start riding. Seems like alot of people like them so thats nice to hear.

The motor is getting swapped over the winter, and getting a haltech elite 2500. But I appreciate the advice. Im having a ton of ecu related issues on my jza70 even after paying Relentless Motorsports in texas 700 to replace the capacitors.

Yea the Manual jza70 had a G299 4.1 Torsen The Auto jza70 shell Had a G319 3.90 Torsen I had a buddy with a Base model (These were both TTRs) that had a 4.10 open

The one in the video is a 3.90 Torsen (car was auto diff code G319)

Yeah I just imported one from Japan I got the twin turbo r . So I’ll be keeping in touch when I need parts .

Well said. Im 25 now. and have owned a mk3 my entire driving life. And as I get older I get more and more tired of keeping up with the money pit issues. it seems like something always need fixed or something could always use improving.

@@Idoubbleyou well you have made a (hopefully successful) run of keeping them on the road, so there's that. But to be fair, these things were money pits back in the 90's, just years after they came out. I can't say the same of my 11 year old GS, or 13 year old FJ when I had it. Cash for Clunkers took a great deal of these off the road prematurely, and the otherwise viable parts that would have been recycleable were crushed, which cut the market off for a lot of these cars and many like it of the era. A shame but until someone starts fabbing new components like the 60's classics, this might be a lost cause.

Dam Iv been wanting to swap my interior out with the turbo r interior Iv already completed a JDM FBO 2j swap in my mk3

Originally if was 40, but Ill have close to 65 in it by the time im done with the GTE swap (motor was free too) Thats just with fixing a bunch of little things, new parts from toyota, and all the stuff to swap the motor. Honestly if you can find a RHD TT6 for 55k Thats the best bet. (I saw a few in that 55-65k range)

@Idoubbleyou there's a few i found online on the 55k-60k range but rust is an issue and you better bet they have been used and abused with the tt setup so I think a n/a example is more likely to have been taken care of a bit better. You never really know with used cars though.

Thats a difficult question. But I would expect no less than 10k to buy a decent mk3, most of the nicer ones have been 15+ and then buying a 1jz is usually 4-5k plus all the swap parts to do it right Your gonna have 20k into it easy. unless you buy a bad example and cut corners

I spent 9k on my car and about 4k for the 1jz vvti, and another 9k for parts to rebuild the engine, car and on the bodykit. At least thats where i stopped counting.

Some say the torsen is weaker than the US clutch style. I honestly prefer the torsen.

No sorry. I have never owned a 1G mk3 yet.
