Reading Bon’s apology, he was clearly desperate. But lying about cancer is just not the way. I think pretty much everyone has some sort of personal story when it comes to cancer so it hits hard when someone takes advantage of it and makes light of something so painful. Also I just feel so bad for the rest of the band for being screwed over. Not to mention other people like my favourite band Prompts, greyscale, and everyone else who just tried to help. Bon fucked up. He would have been better off coming out explaining the actual situation and hoping people would help him so he would have been able to continue his career. Like there must have been some fans or bands that wouldn’t want to see him getting beat up or worse over illegal loans. Faking cancer was just NOT the solution. Never is.

Sure it's easy money, but it'll come out eventually that you lied If he had just been honest about debts, people would think he's an idiot but probably still would have tried to help him out. People can be generous to a fault and I don't see how the lying about cancer part was better than just being upfront about his situation (if it's even true, which likely no one will believe now anyway). What people like Bon don't grasp is that a cancer diagnosis is life-changing not just for that person, but the people closest to them... it literally upends your life. A lot of people struggle with being confronted with their own & their loved one's mortality, and I've supported several friends through years of treatment when their partners or family just couldn't cope with constant hospital visits & trips to the oncologist. It's an emotional roller-coaster for everyone, and once you're on that ride you can't get off... so far more than the money, this a-hole scammed his friends, family, band mates & fans _emotionally._ Absolute POS.
This basically happened with my local scene. Some girl pretended she had cancer, we raised a decent amount for her. Turned out she was fine and had used the money for a tattoo. She went so far as to shave her head to pretend it was real
Sht like this stains the metal scene and its due to people who cant take responsibility and face the consequences of their fk ups without involving the innocent or atleast disclosing the situation. Fk man this sucks

Speaking as an actual guy who has been successfully fighting actual stage 4 cancer for almost two years, I can say that Bon should really consider what he throws out to the universe as it may come back on him. Stealing is illegal and immoral - stealing the goodwill of others is nothing short of pure evil.
The singer of the band Tiamat pulled that same stunt back in 2009. He even said he lied about it for attention. I went off on him so badly on Facebook that they ended up blocking me. It made me really mad because only a scum bag would lie about having cancer and at the time my grandma was fighting cancer.
Fuck cancer, my mom’s been dealing with on and off non-hodgkins lymphoma for about 10 years now. She’s still kicking, but I always worry that it might sneak up on her again and get real nasty
@@metalcoremichael1024 Yeah, I had a brain tumor and they couldn't do the radiation so they went in and removed it, gave me a nice 5 inch scar but that's better then the other option. 8 yrs later I got it in my stomach, got it removed and dealt with...well all I can do now is just laugh about life and wait for my third strike. Bets on location is okay. Yeah I deal with it through humor, nothing else to do. Also all my best to your mother and all you around her that also suffers from that shit! Be strong brother.
