Years ago a representative from Seafoam came by my shop. I had a 87 Jeep Cherokee with over 200,000 miles on it. At idle, the 4.0L had 17" of manifold vacuum. Using my Jeep, he did a treatment and when we rechecked the vacuum, it had risen to over 18". I've been using Seafoam ever since except now I use the High Mileage.

My Jeep Wrangler '04 was pausing after I hit the pedal from every stop, progressively got worse. Used two cans of Seafoam in the tank and haven't had a problem since. Will continue to use.
My '00 Jeep Grand Cheroke does the same thing. My brother told me to use Seafoam and now I am on this video. LOL

I always use it in my old Silverado 5.3 AFM 150 miles before oil change, it made my pick up run quiet and cleaner. This is a must have for these 5.3 AFM engines as they are well known to build up carb in the manifold area

-- Helpful and reassuring. Bought a 2004 Tahoe Z71 with 177k miles on it. Clean frame, everything works. No damage. 5.3l is smooth. Just need it to last a few winters. Seafoam has always been my go to.

@@petermuniz9296 -- Just about. However, only a third of the recommended per gallon. There's a big debate out there on the TH-cams that Seafoam isn't the best for more modern engines. Won't hurt anything, but the debate is that it's useless.
But I've seen it make a difference in a lot of newer vehicles. Better fuel economy, less smoke in just about all. However, when you connect a scan tool and look at the before and after treatment numbers, that's where I've always seen marked improvements. O2 sensors last longer, Cats last longer. Overall numbers on the scanner are better.

My 08 Silverado has 283,000 miles. Sea Foam has been a big and noticeable help.

I used seafoam in a 1973 Ford 302 that was using oil and smoking quite a bit within 10 minutes of putting seafoam in the oil and the gas it quit smoking not that it fixed the motor completely but it helped it greatly

I just added this to my 2009 JK Wrangler I put in Pennzoil Platinum ultra high mileage oil with a Napa Platinum oil filter. I put a can of this in when I was on low and just went on 95 South I went 15 miles at 55 miles an hour and I have a picture of me getting 29.2 mpg when I'm supposed to get 19 hwy mpg
Ben. That's the air plenum not the intake. I did the injectors 4 years ago. Never do it the wy they tell you! That plenum will cone out the rear if you remove the dist . cap and lift the A C lines . did the whole thing in 4 hours!
So do i disconnect the tube from my intake manifold and spray it just before the “plenum” still?

Hi Alex: The "drive the X out of it" idea has to do with intake cleanings with Sea Foam Spray, not adding to fuel. The Sea Foam Spray can instructs "Apply spirited acceleration..." after the hot soak step. Hope this helps!
I have an 05 Corolla,252k. Never done a fuel system cleaner other than a few chevron fuel system cleaners awhile back. City mileage is down a bit and power is down too. Good idea to do this treatment or is it risky? I worry about injectors going out after something like this. Great video!

Yes, right into the oil crankcase. Sea Foam can be used in fuel to clean injectors and upper engine areas, use in oil to clean heavy residues from the crankcase. Hope this helps!

I put it in the gas tank after every oil change and then go to the gas station and make sure the tank is filled
Well 300,000 mile from a chevy just sounds par for the course so did seafoam do anything who knows probably not bad but just keeping good oil in it makes the biggest difference

I have a 98 camry LE with 240,000 miles on it. of course got the high mileage one. I put about 1/3 of this in my oil and will be changing it in about 100 miles. Right now my fuel is over half full so I'm taking the instruction and will wait until my fuel is lower.
But when should i put it? when i have about how many miles left? 100? 200?
Also, is it more effective if you do this in your oil and fuel together? or doing it separately doesn't make a difference?
Lastly, how much should i put in the fuel tank? is about 10 once enough? or should i get another bottle?
I have never done this before for my car.
Great questions! 1) Can do separate. 2) Use half a can in Camry oil. 3) Half a can in fuel isn't much.1 or 2 cans when you have 50 miles to go is a good rule., then drive 20 miles before adding more tank fuel. Hope this helps!

Will this also clean my upper intake system by just adding to my fuel? If no, can I spray it directly into my throttle body?

Hi Matt: You'd need Sea Foam Spray to apply through a throttle body. Sea Foam or High Mileage in oil have nothing to do with leaks. Add it to oil to liquefy heavier residues. Hope this helps!

Did not know this product even existed !! I will have to get some and use it. I have a Ram truck with a 5.7 Hemi and MDS. I understand that the MDS system is oil viscosity sensitive, will I have any issues adding the Seafoam to the oil ?

I have 125,000 miles on my 96 chevy camaro. I used the regular sea foam in my crank case, Fuel tank, and throttle body intake. Is that ok? Or should i redo ? Didnt know there was a high miledge sea foam.

So I’m burning oil and my head gasket and valve cover gaskets are intact, I have a 1994 Honda Civic lx and have to add about a quart of oil every 1-2 weeks, would this stuff help with that?
if i were you id run liqui molys molygen oil on your next change, it glows under a blacklight so you can see where oil is coming from, seafoam might help but it will only be a bandaid solution, it never hurts to run this stuff through your car though
Start adding it every interval. It's going to help no matter what. Could have piston ring restrictions or worn rings. Have your cylinder compressions checked.
I used this in the crankcase of my 4.0 and it sputtered for about half a mile after i used it. is that normal? maybe the oil pump didn't like how thin it was? Also, i used this about 3000 miles ago, and forgot to change my oil.... seems to run fine, but i am going to go get a change tomorrow..... did this stuff continue to clean the entire 3000 miles, or should i add a little more and run it a little first
I believe you - that you experienced a sputtering of sorts...But adding to oil would not cause the oil pump to react differently. Anyway, I don' have an answer for what caused the sputter.
It's OK to run in the oil for the full duration of the interval, so no worries. Just add half a can to your 4.0 every interval and it will continue to clean your oil crankcase.
Brian what is the difference between this an regular Seafoan? Does it contain stronger cleaning agents to get rid of stubborn build up?

Yes, add one time per oil interval. Always leave in the oil until ready to change oil. No need to change earlier than normal!

Can add any time as long as your drive at least 100 miles. We recommend 100 to 300 miles prior to the oil change.

Are you showing any misfire codes? You might have a fouled plug issue.

My 2004 chevrolet cavalier has 180,892 miles on it and the check engine light came on saying misfire with a fuel injector. The autozone guy recommend this stuff. My car is throttling. I wonder how long it'll take to help. I have no way of knowing how much gas I have in the tank because the cluster doesn't work. I'm assuming I have half a tank based off memory of last fill, so I put one whole can in and am saving the second can for later.🤞

Is the amount supposed to be per gallon capacity of the vehicle? It seems like you just added over 20 ounces to a few gallons fuel. The can says 1 to 2 ounces per gallon.
Great question! For cleaning, can shows "use 2 or more ounces per gallon", so you can could go with 50 ounce per gallon if you wanted. I like to add a can or two when the tank is low, drive at least 20 miles before adding fuel.

There is no reason to have the car running when adding to fuel, though it will do its work through the fuel system and upper engine while driving. Hope this helps!

Both are similar but High Mileage does a bit better with stubborn engine and oil deposits. Both are made form 100% petroleum cleaning and lubricating oils and ALWAYS safe to use.

Great question! Most things need something different as they get older. Sea Foam and High Mileage are very similar, but High Mileage is blended to do more for an engine as it becomes more vulnerable to deposit buildup and heavier oil residues.
I used for the 1st time seafoam high mile can and my engine light is now off but my diagnostics said it Wes my air injection system does seafoam help with that? Next question I put seafoam reg in my crank case before a oil change and they said I had 2 quarts over which I don't understand does the seafoam break down sludge and add to what's in the engine ? Thanks for the question. 1) No, there is no relationship to air injection, which occurs on the exhaust at start up. 2) Two quarts of oil is a lot! You'd have to start with a ton of sludge for that to happen. Seems you were just over-filled. Hope this helps!
