Seafoam engine flush i have heard alot of stories but after what it did to my engine seafoam motor treatment was a product that i wont ever forget i came in this test with alot of doubt so how did it turn out watch how to use seafoam motor treatment to clean your engine then see the results before and after can seafoam damage or hurt your car motor find out also it definitely had its work cut out for it with alot of build up of carbon long oil drain intervals also how to flush my engine with seafoam, marvel mystery videos i also use mobil 1 5w30 so watch another video can Lucas oil stabilizer provide protection for a worn out engine with bad knock or tick sound really loud noise well watch the video on product lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer vs knock or tick also motor medic motor flush or my fuel additives i used in test with nates interactive auto NIA

Can only tell you of my personal experience using SeaFoam. I failed my SMOG test by 20 points, specifically the hydrocarbon measure (hc). I drove to WalMart. Bought one can of High Mileage SeaFoam and one can of the regular formula. I put the High Mileage in the gas tank which was half full of gas and the other can of SeaFoam was poured into the intake manifold through one of the vacuum lines. Car was hard to start as expected but eventually cleared through. Then I drove the car until all the gas was consumed. Refueled. Went back to SMOG check station. MY CAR PASSED!!! In fact, the tech asked me what I did. The numbers for HC (hydrocarbons) to pass is 58 in California. My first test was 78 (failed). After the SeaFoam treatment as described above, the HC number was....10. Incredible.

After a couple straight fails I have found throwing a kitchen sink of pollutants at my otherwise perfectly running corollla makes it easily pass smog as well...replaced platinum plugs with iridium, at-205 in oil two weeks before a change every 5 years, seafoam a month before smog, ounce of lucas oil fuel treatment in every tank thereafter up until smog... none of that improves fuel trim/oxygen or mpg and car never needed any fluid additions...only the iridium plugs part made noticeable difference in actual performance (in all of my cars now)...

Yep. I just use the regular seafoam for everything. Whenever my old Ford Focus was feeling bogged down, I'd pop a can of Seafoam in the gas tank and it'd seem like a much newer vehicle for a while. That said, I don't think you need it in the oil as long as you change the oil on time. It's pretty low viscosity, and is probably only needed for engines that haven't had their oil changed regularly and have a lot of internal gunk.

  • @PapawCulberson
    @PapawCulberson ปีที่แล้ว +3

Alcohol is a detergent. It won't harm the engine if it is only idling with Sea Foam in the engine oil.
I would change the oil immediately after - have two oil filters - drain oil and pit two to three quarts of oil in and let it idle with a cheap oil filter on it - drain again and replace the filter witha good filter and refill with oil again to ensure you get as much Sea Foam out of the engine as possible.
FYI - change your oil and filter once a week for a month using HD30 engine oil.
The last oil change use your regular engine oil.
That will do a much better job of cleaning your engine than Sea Foam. And it will stay lubricated much better as well.

I've got a 2006 Honda Odyssey and with over 280,000 km (160,000 miles) I used the high milage Sea Foam and it works. I used it as instructed before an Oil Change and added a can when I filled it up. My mechanic said my engine was idling a bit high (1100RPM) and its now down to 700-800 RPM. Be careful how much you use before an oil change. Other than that it runs better and I am now clocking how good the milage will be because I just did an oil change.

Good video, your thinking along the right lines for sure. However the MSDS sheets show ( < = Less than) 95% and ( V = Less than) 25% of both ingredients on both containers.
One could be 24% Iso and the other 6% Iso, same with the volitile hydros.
They are probably similar, however still different enough to have better results depending upon conditions. Or, they could be the same formulation, and just marketing.

I've been using seafoam for years and the difference between using it in my four-wheeler or my Jeep.
My 4-wheeler has a 3.8 gallon gas tank I use a whole can of seafoam Every Spring runs like a top.
Using it in my Jeep on the other hand you have to use more cans I recommend at least three cans in the gas tank if you really want it to work.
Do this at your own risk but I think you're making a massive mistake don't ever put anything in your crankcase except for high-quality oil. You absolutely will break sludge loose and it will clog up your motor your oil flow will not flow the way it should.
I can tell you from personal experience.

@@Ucill1I looked at the ingredients of mothers hybrid spay wax and their hybrid detailer. The ingredients are all literally identical and in the exact same order too...... Except for two-ingredient somewhere in the middle are reversed.
The spray wax has carnauba wax before silicon something rather .......and the detailer had the silicon ingredient before carnauba wax. Everything else was identical with the same ingredients and all other ingredients in the same order. If I'm remembering right they want a little over $2 more maybe $3 for the spray wax over the detailer. It's astonishing how these tricks all work on most of the masses all the time. Makes me wonder if the percentage difference of carnauba wax is less than .1%
I bet it's a really small percentage difference and it's a way to squeeze out a little more profit out of something that technically has more carnauba wax.
"Technically" is the key word here. That's deception. But practically no difference likely.
So now Mr. snake can say that such-and-such has more of something. But they conveniently never tell you how much more and what practical reality does that have in the real world.
It's all marketing tricks with everything. Honesty died a few thousand years ago. Probably just fine to get the detailer and save 2 or 3 dollars over the "wax"
Since the detailer has the wax also and is only one ingredient behind instead of in front. How much percentage difference does it make I wonder? Does it actually have 3 dollars worth more of carnauba wax than the detailer?
I somehow doubt that. Especially mass produced. Probably in the low pennies for the company. I wish I didn't see this kind of thing everywhere.
I wondered about the sea foam high mileage also before and thought it's probably the same stuff repackaged and now they charge more banking on your lack of knowledge. 🤫😐

Nate, we don’t know what the difference is. The SDS is not truly specific. It could be that one of the ingredients has been increased for better cleaning. We do know the previous MSDS stated Pale Oil, Naphtha and IPA. My guess is that since Pale Oil is used as the carrier, that might have been reduced in favor of additional Naphtha and or IPA. BG44K which is also another great product use Naphtha, Stoddard Solvent, Naphthalene (mothballs) etc. & PEA.

I'm betting they use a heavier ( higher boiling point) hydrocarbon in the high mileage version. The idea is they expect more carbon and thus want a deeper soak (slower pass through) cleaner. fyi this is like the old charcoal starter fuel, the heavier the fuel the better the starter. If you ever tried to start a charcoal fire with only gasoline you see the gas burns way to quick to build heat for the charcoal, while kerosene will soak into the charcoal (carbon) and burn like a candle ( kerosene wicking out of the charcoals)

It most likely relocated all the gunk and water at the bottom of your tank into your fuel filter. Of course the water was probably going through your fuel injectors causing the low acceleration. This is a common problem, after using seafoam a few times it'll go away.

I got 380k miles on my GM 5.3 and 4.3 all original burn no oil runs like new just change oil every 3k.
I use 15w-40 diesel oil in older motors.

It is safe to put in the oil. If you put in the recommended dosage of 1 oz per quart (32 oz.), that is a ratio of 32:1! For some reason, people always think that their supposed to fill up 1/2 the crankcase with it.

The MSDS is not listing the precise concentrations. The hydrocarbon blend(a non polar solvent) is listed as LESS THAN 95%. The isopropanol(a polar solvent) is listed as LESS THAN 25%. The two products evidently differ....by the exact ratio of hydrocarbons to IPA. One product could be about 95:5, and the other could be about 75:25 for instance, or any ratio in between. Those two different proportions are trade secrets. As are the specific hydrocarbons used, and the proportions of each, that make up each hydrocarbon blend component. A gas chromatogram of both products, would graphically illustrate these differences, without identifying the exact organic compounds in either formulation. A standard mixture of known hydrocarbons could be run on the GC, and it's chromatogram compared to a product's chromatogram. This would give presumptive identifications of many of the compounds(by matching peak retention times.). Further, a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer...could be used to definitively identify each individual compound's fragmentation pattern(qualitative analysis) in the mixtures(using a software library of known compounds), and their relative amounts, by calculating the area under each peak and comparing this response to a known concentration of a correspoding standard. (quantitative analysis) Using this data, you could essentially reverse engineer the two products' differing compositions.

I have a 2010 chevy silverado 5.3 ltr. I had an engine tap know in chevy's. As you mention in the oil video, the new truck engines have small openings for the oil to pass through. I used seafoam additive for approximately 1000 miles to allow it to clean the lines as well as reduce the tap. Then i added gunk motor flush to really clean the carbon or gunk build up.( Please follow directions on motor flush) the oil was changed and my engine tap went away.

I've used seafoam for many many years. In my truck and bike. Both run like the day I bought them. Is it because of the seafoam? I don't know. But it seems to be from it. Only time will tell. I've personally never used it in oil only in gas and introduced into the intake.

I've no doubt that running 87 for years has caused it to have a fair bit of carbon build up, and a bottle via vacuum line and one in the oil seems to have made it start instantly and its got a nice amount of pep back.
