- Los Angeles sanitation workers, with the support of Los Angeles Police Officers, clean-up the homeless encampment on Third Street in Venice on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Thank you sir for taking the time to record this for the world to see. I am sad you, the officers and sanitation employees had to hear the loud, profane and obnoxious remarks. If only the city did not allow the problem to get this bad.

They either don't want to conform or they are mentally ill. We are not going to place our general public lives on hold any longer while we wait for them to grow up and get their life together. They must be moved off public spaces and if they do or don't accept help is not our problem. They got to go .

As always these people were given plenty of notice this was going to happen , it's not like sanitation just rolled up in the middle of the night like ninjas and
started tossing their rat infested tent mcmansions. They seem to think they own the sidewalks on top of all the other free stuff they get handed to them.

Well they're levels to homelessness. There was a homeless couple that wee "Special Needs" where City workers and LAPD dispose all their stuff leaving them with no options. Now if you think about non able-bodied homeless individual where other homeless and activist look after, their realm of think when they see a cleanup is it's time to move, they're realm of thinking that they did something wrong and this is how the city punishes them.

They cleaned up the next street where the Gold’s Gym is located a month ago or so. It looked great! Then, they appeared again a couple of days ago.

I feel like going to the next cleanup with a big boom box blasting cheering crowds to thank the workers and drown out the people trying to harass them.

Am started to notice some grocery stores have these electronic devices put on wheels , so that they are not able to leave the parking lot, here in Texas, but would like to see my first Walmart store implement these type of shopping carts, because they are all over the city filled with junk and causing a mess

How can anyone be “happy” existing like that? It’s called obstructing a public thoroughfare and the city has the right to tell you to leave. If you don’t leave after being warned, the city has the legal right to “escort” you away. And take your landfill. I am sorry it has to be that way, but these encampments are a health hazard.

Please tell the mouthy woman to lower here voice please . The encampment on the sidewalk is an extreme fire hazard. Imagine if the mess caught fire and the some strong winds whipped the flames into an inferno and then spread to homes and businesses . The pedestrians have to step into the road and dodge the traffic which is another accident waiting to happen .
I feel sorry for the sanitation employees, Police Officers, and all the people involved in the removal. They're being exposed to disease carrying rats, bed bugs, fleas, and countless contaminated needles. It's the city government fault for letting it get so out of control.

@@freeridemoto7133 Agreed. Our local mental health center was closed during the Reagan administration. So far, I have not encountered dangerously unstable people. But, there are many who could be dangerous if pushed too far. My advice is always drive with your doors locked. Keep windows and doors locked at home. Do not answer the doors to strangers. Keep blinds snd curtains closed. Come home before dark. Stay home until other people are out and about. Keep your keys in your hand and set off car alarm if uneasy. I could add so much more to this list. Overall, just be aware of where you are, who is around you, and have a plan in case you run into the unexpected.

Losing your home is one thing but to live homeless is another. If your complaining about being homeless accept the help and go to a shelter to get back on your feet. But to expect others to have to put up with your MESS is BS. Learn to live with necessities that when you're told to leave you can pack it up quickly n go. I bet they get assistance financially but you'd rather spend your money on other things. It's not like there are no jobs out there, there are plenty.

I used to live on 5th and Rose. Left July 2018. Couldn’t be happier to have left that cesspool. That street is right behind 100m Google office complex. On a street where people drink $15 fresh juices.

They need to house the mentally ill, the elderly and the disabled. The rest are still able to work and will survive just fine. The problem is you have all of them together and the drug addicts and criminals are the only faces we see of homelessness because they're extreme. But the problem is much more complicated.
Thank Reagan for that. He was convinced that it the humane thing to give them their checks directly instead of the old state designated payee program in which the care homes were paid directly and the individual was given the difference.
Once that happened, tons of caregivers were out of jobs and all the recipients were out on the street.\ where they became prey for dope pushers and scammers.

@@charlesurrea1451 I saw that a veterans hospital in LA has campsites for homeless vets by the hospital but it is abt 1/3 of capacity because it has strict rules against booze and drugs. Not sure if it is for RVs or tents. It was pictured in one of these videos of the area. It was fenced and looked very neat and kept up

The site is at about 6 blocks from the beach. Sunset ave and 3rd st is where that white building is at looking straight on. foreground st is Rose ave. crossing left to right. Google maps shows the homeless encampment but sems not as dense as this video.

When I was a kid in the 80's Venice was a magical place. All you could smell was hot dogs, french fries and the salt water breeze. Now it's a total homeless dump like the rest of California.
