I think this video may have just saved my life.
Not going to lie, when people would try to explain it to me, it seemed like Baha'i members were just trying to "pad their odds" to say, by not choosing a side. However, after watching this and having it explained better and fuller, I see that it is a lovely faith with many points I agree with. While I personally am a non-denominational Christian, I feel that Christ and Baha'i would have been close friends if they lived at the same time. Bless you, Baha'i friends.

Baha'i faith is the first religion that directly teach people not to obey blindly, and to search for truth independently using your own brain with no prejudice. Thank God, It's about the time.

I've been doubting my faith (as a Christian) and I came upon this faith last night during my spiritual search. I believe God has directed me to this video and is showing me the best path to take to him. I love the Baha'i faith.
Growing up, I raised in the ways of Christianity and was taught to believe many things in Christianity... and also fear. But as I grew and began to truly see the world revolving around me I began to question certain things about my Religion, why are things the way they are when the bible said otherwise. Science was the key factor of this; it made me understand and learn not just simply what caused diseases, earthquakes, and evolution but about people and reasoning and how to know the difference between fact and opinion, but it also caused me major confusion and conflict within myself. Between religion and science, I didn't know what to believe, I was so confused for the longest time thinking the two never hand in hand. I do believe in the bible and what it says but not all of it, and reason and science can tell us a lot more about the world around then. I always told myself I was a "half Christian" but is that even a thing?
My name is Jaime, I am 20 years old and am a believer in both science and religion. I consider myself a wanter of peace and equality for there is truly nothing else I desire more in this divided world. I am still young and still VERY confused but I think Bahai's beliefs are what strive the believe in because it literally embodies my thoughts and even my sense of reasoning. I agree with the Bahai Faith 100%
Keep studying the Bible. Most of the problems people have with the Bible are their preconceptions about what they think it says, not what it actually teaches.

It was a moment in time and space I have never forgotten and held in my heart in peace and love and always will...even if my worldview is different, I will always love Baha’i and it’s lovely people.

I've been looking for a sign for awhile, I've always had this idea but never knew where to go, I felt out of place whenever I would try to get into Christianity but always felt naive for believing in God when exploring my more scientific side, this, this is what I've been looking for

I've spent a lot of time trying to find spiritual meaning, at one point or another I've been a member of every abrahamic faith. Each of them were beneficial to me but it felt as though I was living in a different age. Most of the same philosophies can be applied today, but you can tell they had a different age in mind. Many of the quotes you said sound as though they were taken from my own thoughts. I'm very interested and will be reading more on the faith.

One thing that I want to point out us that, while practically you can see what most atheists deduce as their cosmology, there is no atheist doctrine. There is no atheist cosmology. All atheism means is without theism. It does not make claims about how the world and the universe came to be, and there are plenty of atheists that believe all kinds of different things about science and religion and how everything came to be. Atheism is merely not believing in any theism.

I'm a Convert to Islam.. I love my religion in So many ways.. Before I was atheist and Islam has offered so much insight into my life. Alhamduilla.
Unfortunately I see that Islam like all religions is divisive.. I dnt belive my Christian parents will go to hell or that they r lost.. Or that one of my Lesbian friends should be stonned to death or persecuted as she would under sharia.. I dnt think women in my religion are treated fairly and the man's role is not healthy to him as well..

So why should we believe this new prophet? What is the evidence he was a real prophet?
Baha’i’s believe in what they call independent investigation of the truth, which means that each individual must investigate the claims made by Baha’u’llah independently and come to their own conclusions. My own way was to read the writings of Baha’u’llah. One example is a book by Baha’u’llah called The Hidden Words. To give an idea of the ‘flavor’ of that book, here is one passage: “O Son of Spirit! The best beloved of all things in my sight is justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desires Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee. By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbor....”
You shouldn't believe it on anyone else's word. The question as I see it is "Do I want to invest the time to investigate His writings, ponder them and sincerely seek to see with my OWN eyes if His claims are true?"
The 'evidence' is what the scriptures do to your inner world, if there is any inner transformation that occurs within you when someone sincerely seeks to investigate the writings/teachings.

I was hoping for an explanation of Baha'i without it having to be compared to Christianity or atheism. I would be considered an agnostic atheist or something. I think it would be nice to sit with people, without a preacher or hierarchy present, to meditate on how to make myself and the world around me better. But I think I may need a different explanation of this faith. I will try their website.
I can imagine this becoming very popular. People ditch religion after pluralism (postmodernity if you really must call it that) but bahai seems to be a pluralist stance.
Almost all societies have a God, yet all Gods are inconsistent... So summising from that, if you are still theist and figure that the convergent rise of religion isnt just some psychological archetype seems pretty logical.
Thank you for the video. It is interesting to learn about other faiths especially when it is so similar to my faith, Islam. In Islam, we believe that:
1. There is One God (the supreme being, no image, no human-like characteristics). He created the universe and all that is in it (heaven, earth, hell, angels, devil, animals, nature)
2. Humanbeings are not evolved from apes, but is one of His best creations of God (humans are created with emotions, minds to think and do wonderful or destructive things).
3. No intermediaries in Islam. Humanbeings can connect and pray straight to God even if there is no Imams, Mullahs or Ulama. Direct connection to Almighty.
4. This world (material, physical world) is created by Him but will eventually one day come to an end. As all things die or come to and end, so as this world we live ine. The final destination is the Heavens where all of His creations will reunite and be with Him.
5. Therefore, in order to maintain order, harmony and peace on earth in preparation for the after life, God sends down prophets and his Messengers as teachers, guides and reminders to humanbeings not to transgress in their actions. Prophets are sent to established empires/civilizations (to pharoahs, kings, tribe leaders who had transgressed, caused misery to their people or to others).
6. Believing in past Prophets and their teachings is one of the pillars of Islamic faith. Muhammad is sent as the final and seal of all Prophets and mercy to all. He came to verify all other prophets teachings, he came to repair what has been damaged and to heal this modern world which is more compelexed than those living in previous era.
7. People may argue that Prophet Muhammad have no miracles unlike Jesus (cure the blind, wake the dead), Moses (speak to God, change stick to Snake), Solomon (talk to birds, control the unseen).....but the miracle that he has is the Al-Quran (words of God) and his Sunnah.
Through Quran and Sunnah, God is sending humanbeings the solution to all the modern day problems such as how to worshiop God, how to treat parents, friends, neighbours, how to do business transactions without deceiving, how to walk, talk, eat, how to negotiate, how to govern, how to be compassion and forgiving, how to strive for success, science and all others,how to coexsit and live in a multi cultural environment.

Ask a Christian brother. Brother, "What did Jesus teach?". Most will respond, "Jesus died on the Cross for the sake of our sins. The blood of Jesus saves us." You ask them again, "Brother, my question was not what Jesus did and why he did that. My question is 'WHAT DID HE TEACH? "
Very few faithful Christian brothers will respond - " Jesus was a teacher of Truth, of Divine Love. He was the way to the Divine Love of the Father. Teacher of Immortality. Of Eternal Life. Of transcending the human into the Divine."
And even very few will agree to this - After Jesus, God sent another Messenger whose name was Muhammad, and although Muhammad's teaching proclaim about 'accepting' all Messengers before him, including Jesus, many of our Christian brothers are inclined to deny the Message of Muhammad. This is the dilemma of many of our Christian brothers!

They say, "We believe in Probhet Muhammad(PBUH) and we believe in all the Prophets(PBUT) who came before him. They know that a 'Promised One' was going to come after Prophet Muhammad. But when the Promised One came - One Whom God had made manifest, and when He explained that THE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD COME FROM THE SAME SOURCE AND ARE IN ESSENCE SUCCESSIVE CHAPTERS OF ONE RELIGION FROM GOD- even after claiming this Truth which is known to all - the turned their back on Him and denied Him.
Now many Muslim brothers are facing the same Dilemma like our Christian brothers- they are as reluctant to accept the One Whom God has made manifest after Prophet Muhammad, as are many Christians to follow Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)!

i loved the message this faith teaches but i am also afraid of being disloyal to my current faith as well, i want to believe that this is the right way, but what if i’m wrong? i want to believe so much that we are all one race and one humanity but i also think of my bloodline, i don’t want to ruin or wipe or forget who my ancestors were or my origin. it’s just very confusing to me

I am a Baha'i and one thing that is mentioned in the Baha'i writing is that the purpose of religion is to advance humanity through creating love and fellowship between men and putting an emphasis on not just our material existence, but also our spiritual one. So at the end of the day you do not have to convert in order to put into practice the belief that we are all one race. As long as you love others and are of service to humanity, the world will progress. I attend weekly devotionals in my neighbourhood with people from all faiths and we say prayers and sing songs together. Our labels do not matter because we are all striving for one thing; peace and unity in this divided world. I hope that helps ❤️

Hey Rainn/everyone, thanks for the video. Me and a friend watched it together and were discussing it afterwards. We werent sure how exactly women are oppressed/subjugated in the developed nations. Could you give us some examples?
BuzzKill some might say one symptom is the disparity in income between women and their male peers.
Another is gender roles, even in developed countries there are gender roles and double standards that are a form of oppression. Objectifying women and looking at them as a tool is another form of oppression in my view. At work it is more likely that your male counterpart gets that promotion than you as a female.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" Whether or not one believes women are treated unjustly in their developed nation, there are clear examples of oppression in other countries that maybe we can all agree on.
So long as that oppression exists there is not equality of man and woman. We don't like in a vacuum and must admit that though we might not see women as oppressed in our daily lives, the oppression impacts our lives. The workers that manufactured our clothes or are working at slave wages for the technology we use are in a society that does oppress women. The interconnectedness of the world makes it such that their subjugation impacts our lives.

Unfortunately the pay gap is really misunderstood statistic. I’ll try to give a brief explanation. The gender pay gap isn’t a comparison of income between a man and a woman’s with the same job, same education or experience etc (these differences account for a lot of the gender pay gap). What the gender pay gap actually is, is the difference in average weekly earnings between men and women without accounting for other important factors. It does not compare the same job or consider work experience, different industries, job position, education, hours worked, type of work, etc. When you account for these things the pay gap is pretty much nullified.
Difference in interest between men and women also plays a large role. Women tend to be more interested in people and men in things. So women, on average, tend to choose jobs involving people such as nursing and teaching etc which have lower pay; whereas men tend to go into STEM (science, technology, engineering mathematics) which pays higher. Men also, on average, tend to choose jobs that are more dangerous or labour intensive which pay at higher rates. So there is indeed a difference in pay between men and women but not because of discrimination or oppression.
An easy way to see if gender pay exists because of discrimination is to ask; Since labor costs are some of the largest costs companies can incur: if it was cheaper to hire women then why wouldn’t business save on expenses and just hire women?

Im not really sure how gender roles are oppressive unless enforced by an institution. For example, women in the west are not forced into the role of motherhood or prevented from pursuing a life dedicated to their career. They have opportunities to do both; they have the same opportunities as men. Whereas women in some other nonwestern countries often are forced into gender roles with no choice or opportunities and severe consequences for disobedience which certainly is oppression.
With your example of objectifying women i definitely agree that objectification is degrading to anyone who experiences it. But as far as i can see its not oppression, as its a result of individual choice and not institutional imposed. Insulting or offending someone, though bad, is not the same thing as oppressing them but it doesn’t make it any better or less painful.
And on your last point that men are more likely to receive a promotion then females. Thats very hard to talk about without more specific details. That statistic may be true, that men receive more opportunities for promotion, but that doesn’t mean men are being promoted only because they are men or that women aren’t being promoted because of oppression. There are other factors that may be contributing. For example, on average, men tend to work longer hours then women, men tend to be more willing to move around for work, and tend to be more disagreeable which assists with negotiating for raises or promotions etc. There are many factors that contribute to these things and a differences don’t necessarily mean discrimination or oppression is occurring.
Difference between groups (for example differences in promotions between men and women) does not require oppression.

Baha'i belongs to abrahmic religions?
All the concept explained in the video is Islam from what I know. What is the difference between Islam and Baha'i?
The Báb, Bahá’ís believe, who was the Herald of the Faith, is the Promised Imam Mahdi/Qá’im while Bahá’u’lláh is the return of Christ. He abolished the Jizya tax & updated many things from Islam. So, I believe the Baha’i Faith is the Islam of this age, while Christianity was the Judaism of its former age (but an updated version). If you would like to ask me any questions, I’m here :)
There is only one religion of God for one human. Jewish, christian, Muslim and now Baha'i faith are all the same ideology for this one religion coming out every 1000 years to update the same religion.
Well i would prescribe whatever cures cognitive illusions, aggressive behaviour and the lack of creativity.
I'm an atheist i guess. Religions are for me just a way of collective storytelling. And some of these stories seem to have come to a dead end. So i'm always happy to see new religions, especially when they're tackling the problems of the anthropogenic era (1950+).
I like the Bahai faith because religious exclusivism is a problem and needs to be addressed since monotheism became popular.

I have a question though: he describes one humanity and unity as core beliefs of Baha'i, but from what I've read in other research gay people go against the teaching of the religion and it is frowned upon. It doesn't really fit with what is being portrayed here. Any insight?
Kevin Casey you’re allowed to be homosexual and a Baha’i. The only thing that is prohibited is sex out of marriage, which also applies to non-married people. The concept or marriage in the Baha’i teachings serves, among others, the purpose of bringing forth a child who will make mention of God. Other that that, if a person chooses to live a homosexual life and get married to someone of the same sex, that’s their choice. This law only applies to Baha’is. We do not treat others who live different lifestyles any differently. In many cases, Baha’is should stand up for any injustice against homosexuals. There are laws that we may not fully understand or agree with as individuals, but once we accept Baha’u’llah, we need to agree and trust in His laws. He is the divine physician. This is gonna go over horribly, BUT, if I was going to start a new world order this is how I’d do it. Religion is a powerful political weapon in the right hands. Is there a better way to establish a one world government? I’m just saying..

I don't personally see religion being a good way to start a one world government even though you are correct it is a powerful political weapon. It just seems like usually when religion is used it politics it always creates a strong opposition since people never seem to agree on what religion is the best one. So maybe you could take over a region but you'd have so many people thinking your religion is BS that then other countries would start to strongly oppose you and never join your government.
I wouldn't be opposed to a one world government, depends on the intent. If it works it works, if not, well just keep trying. I honestly believe spiritual evolution will continue to take place until we go unite as one. Not in a communist, dictatorship type way. Just come together as one spiritually. Maybe, possibly, war will some day cease to exist on Earth.
