Thia is an awesome find! Would you happen to share the firmware for the commander core? I have one originally that fried out and for my h150i, and the core XT actually does work! Fans are blinking red but pump does work. I've been scouring for a few days now with no luck finding the firmware for the commander core 😅
So wait you took you your commandor core xt apart and used the 24 point pin with your h150i and the pump and everything works. I have a H150i elite capellix 360 that I got for a killer price but the core didn't come with it I thought that surely there had to be a work around. This video is the thing I've found so far. I do own a commander core pro XT already installed in my case with all fans and speed hubs being used. If you see this let me know what you found out thanks.
@@johnathonbouressa4596 Basically did the same instructions in this video. Open up the core XT, remove the module that is connect to the 24 port of the XT, and then connect the 24 pin from the AIO into the core Xt from there. It'll all work, but the only thing is that you wont have RGB control since the unit is still recognized as a Commander Core XT, and you will need to flash the firmware manually like he does in the video.
Where did you find the correct firmware file that you flash onto the commander core XT to the commander core. Thanks for getting back to me man I really appreciate it.
@@johnathonbouressa4596 I actually never flashed it lol. I don't have the firmware file and it's almost impossible to find unless you have the commander core and power cycle the unit while holding the reset pin down to expose the original commander core firmware.
I'm starting to h8t3 thius Corasiar RGB mess so much. It added an extra layer of complexity on top of already a tedious cable managemetn job. ANd when it's done, the RGB and fans don't work right. I finally got the fans to spin down by splitting them off the motorboard PWM headers and totally ignoring the PWM headers on teh Core and COre XT... except for one that is runnign at full speed for some reason, when it should be running the same speed as the group of 3 it's in. three out of my 7 RGB Corsair fans light up in rainbow puke, and the other 4 that were working before, now don't do anything. I've checkt the sata cables, I've swapped them around between the two boxes, no change. I've moved the RGB plugs around thinking I had them plugged into 6 54 instead of 1 2 3 (they aren't numbered at least to my eyes). I've plugge dno working fan RGB into slots of a fan that had the RGB working. Nothing. NOone of this dmmn sh1t makes sense, even though it's supposedly "straight forward". At least wriring it up was. Maybe this Core Xt box is dead, I have no idea. There is no diagnostic legs on it or anything. I't just a dumb plastic black box. Corsair cooler, Corsair fans, Corsair Power supply, Corsaier case, Corsair RGB controllers, Corsair ram, everything. You wold think that would make everything easy. Noooo...
hello, I came across your videos following a problem with my commander core, I tried to see if corsair sold them alone and it was not my surprise to see that no, they are just in pack with the AIOs this which I find stupid for me. I thought your video was just awesome and the edit seems simple considering you proved the core XT command has the same board and they just add a board for temperature. I also see that your videos are more than 1 month old, your modification still works or not? thank you for the answer and sorry for the mistakes I use google translate
i bought an h60x cooler thinking it would have all i need in box. realized after install that i needed a core which is doesn’t come with, but you need in order to access features of the hardware. bought a command core xt (and two more fans cuz rgb).hooked up the radiator fan and it’s rgb fine, hooked up the pump head rgb fine, the pump head power i connected to my cpu_fan_1 4 prong. cable attached to pump head is only a 3. icue detects fans and fan rgb, as well as pump head rgb but not the pump head itself. only port on the command core xt that fits the 3-plug for the pump head is the 4 prong ports for the fans. there’s a port on the short side of the command core that says “IO” and even if i assume it’s referring to the AIO pump head, the port doesn’t fit the plug from the pump. i’m so confused. is there no way to control the pump head?
Hi johndoe-zn9xs, The Commander Core for the AIO's is still available on Corsairs website, just search for Commander CORE RGB & PWM Fan Controller on their site. I've often seen it not available though, but currently as of right now it's available for puchase at 39.99. Thanks for watching!!!

I need help to expose the new virtual drive. I press the button and connect the SATA, but nothing happens. I use Win 11 Pro and can see the hidden folders. Any suggestions?
Hi SushYm4n-1201, if it's not exposing that drive when you do this, double check your USB connection in addition to trying another sata power port. If it still will not open it up, perhaps the device has some other issue? does the device work otherwise? does icue detect it? Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
@HardwareArtisan as I already wrote in my Mail, I have two Devices. One works fine and the other one has a problem with the 20-pin-connector. The capellix head is not detected and the pump does not work, but the com core shows up in icue and the fan and rgb header do work. So it's not dead at all. I tried out to open the drive at several usb-header on two different Mainboards.
@Hardware Artisan can you please upload the Commander Core Bin file? I swiched my commander core out and it totally worked i would like my XT to report as a regular core now. You earned my sub btw!
@Hardware Artisan Hey :) I want need some serious help. I bought a brand new Intel computer that included the H170i ELITE LCD. It gives me an error when I boot up. First there is a triangle in the LCD, and when I boot up there is a picture of a fan with an exclamation mark. I have gone over to check that everything is connected as it should be. I have also made sure I have the latest updates for the iCUE software. The fans on are blinking red indicating an error. When I boot up, the first few seconds the fans are showing a rainbow color, and after a few seconds, they start blinking. I have checked all cables and can't find anything wrong. Do you have any tips for me? Have you heard of this problem before? I got my new computer two days ago. I will send it back if it is not a quick fix.
Im wondering if that is a small 5 amp fuse that’s been built into the board. Buildzoid pointed these soldered fuses on a MSI 40 series graphics card tear down. I could definitely be wrong. I tried searching for the chip with the Q1 designation that’s on both boards, but I couldn’t find anything useful. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
Could someone please post a core bin file so i can turn the xt into a core. This is just until Corsair gets them back in stock so i can get a replacement. Thanks
So idk why but it will never open the storage of the Commander Core (for the Core XT it just went smooth) Thats why i cant flash the other one. Anyone got a solution?
Hi Tek Soup, I've not even looked into that, nor looked at the pinout for the AIO connector, I suppose you could break it up, have you done that? Thanks for watching?
@@HardwareArtisan Loved this video! It's exactly what I was looking for.
