    I was amazed to find out yesterday that this problem has existed for years and is still not fixed. I also found the solution rather by accident. I had been deactivating my RGB lighting by default during the boot process for some time. Lately, however, I have noticed a connection between the occasional crashes and the lighting. At irregular intervals, the RGB lighting would suddenly turn on by itself. After that, my PC suddenly stopped responding. The only thing that helped was either a hard reset or switching off the computer with the power button.
    Yesterday I typed "Corsair Icue Crash" into google and immediately came across many fellow "victims" in the Corsair forum.
    The sad thing is that Corsair actually makes great products (hardware). But that's of no use if the associated software is simply trash. Unfortunately...

    2024 here, and I just had the exact same thing happen to me. I uninstalled it and it fixed my crashing problem, my computer was constantly blue screening and restarting. I only came to the conclusion that maybe it was ICUE because it crashed before my pc started messing up. I checked everything, all my temps, my hardwares, my fans. And lo and behold it was ICUE. Who would have thought.

  • @Jacksendary
    @Jacksendary 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I've been using corsair since around 2015, that time it was called ICUE2, this software worked perfectly fine, HOWEVER ever since I updated to ICUE3 and ICUE4 (due to new hardware) I've had this issue happening, and multiple other builds I've done for friends and family have had similar issues. Some says it seem to have something to do with sleep mode, this I'm uncertain about and haven't tested.
    I my self have disabled the following services completely in windows and haven't had a crash since on multiple PCs: CorsairService, CorsairLAService. Please note that if you disable these some of your lightning may no longer work however, if so enable the services again and change the "Hardware lighting" rather than the "software" lighting and then disable it again.
    I'm also thinking of not using RGB from corsair in future builds, but sadly corsair is just so good with hardware lighting, but their software in mega garbage!

    " If you have iCUE uninstall immediately " a bit over dramatic don't you think? NO! I literally can't believe how bad iCUE is. I bought a M65 wireless this week. Loved the mouse, but I had to send it back because I can't use iCUE. It breaks my entire system. I have Corsair RAM as well and iCUE even causes my system to tell me there is no RAM inserted to where I couldn't get into Windows either. Was planning on buying a Hs80, but wow. I will never in my life touch another Corsair peripheral in my life again. Sad because they do make good stuff. Going into 2024 and this is still a problem.

  • @TigTec
    @TigTec 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Not sure if you've noticed this too. But the Corsair PSU's have a a fan on them to keep them cool. You'll notice that when you install iCUE, the default profile for the PSU doesn't ever turn the fan on, no matter what temperature. I have a RM1000i and my computer was having some very strange crashes, sometimes I'll get a BSOD, sometimes the computer just necks itself and I can only turn it off via the PSU switch. (Holding down the power button is useless) After a few months of troubleshooting wtf the problem was, I noticed my PSU was running pretty hot. Then noticed that iCUE didn't turn on my PSU fan despite it being hot. I created a custom profile for the PSU and now the fan is on, no crashes since.
    So yeah, it is iCUE. And it is your PSU. What a stupid problem to have...

    3 years later and ICue is still completely broken, at least on AMD hardware. First time I installed it didn't have any issues for a week or two, then after an update I kept getting BSODs, black screen, hard force shut downs, hardware locking up once crashed, etc. After trying a million fixes thinking it could be a million things, several fresh installs of windows and software / driver repairs and fresh installs later, same things. I finally decided to do a completely fresh install of windows from a boot drive, delete all partitions from all of my drives to start from scratch, reinstall all new drivers, and only download my normal stuff excluding anything corsair software related.
    So far so good. No issues yet. Sad part was I thought my hardware was broken and causing the issues. So, I ended up getting a new CPU, new PSU, new motherboard, and new RAM only to have all the same issues. So, at least I have new hardware lol. Only thing left to change is my GPU and get a new HDD. For my future build I'll probably go Intel, I've had so many problems with AMD (even though I like AMD & Ryzen).

    • @spaceman3150
      @spaceman3150 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I should also mention this was around the same time I bought Modern Warfare 2, which at the time was also causing similar issues for many AMD users, so I thought it was also that and tried so many fixes. Now that I have a fresh install I probably won't be installing MW2 again anyway, just to be safe. I'm so sick of these developers making PC apps / games that put Intel first and break AMD software / hardware.
      Now, my next issue is with Helldivers 2, which is ALSO broken on AMD! It's ridiculous!

  • @zacklarez
    @zacklarez 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    THANK YOU. I've been having issues with weird fragments on my screens from time to time but more importantly, my screens would go black and the PC fans would kick to 100%. It has been a nightmare trying to find the answer online. I did notice that the lights on my Corsair K95 would continually lose their settings and revert to solid red. I thought that this was a SYMPTOM of something larger that was going on with the drivers on my computer or worse, some sort of hardware failure or faulty connection like you mentioned. Well, it turns out that the iCue software and thus the keyboard were the problem. I realized that this evening when my "i" key stopped working on my keyboard. I would type a sentence and the "i" input would not register. I could not type "i"s. I tried a second bluetooth keyboard and it worked fine. I also was experiencing the cursor moving on its own. Not the mouse cursor, but the blinking text selection marker that you see when you type. It would go side to side on its own. Selections on my screen, like buttons such as "Cancel" and "Ok" at the bottoms of option screens would self-highlight and the highlight would drift right to left on its own. Frankly, I was really fearing that there was some sort of keylogger or remote control nefarious activity going on.
    I was pissed that my keyboard seemed to stop working properly after having it under a year and that it had been giving me issues from the start as far as the lights. I opened iCue to find the driver update option and couldn't find it, so I went to the website and downloaded iCue again and ran it. It had an option to repair the app. So I selected that. It tried, said it encountered an error and failed. So I did a driver uninstall. And guess f*ing what? The "i" key works perfectly fine and the selection highlight and cursor drift phenomena have both disappeared. I'm not installing that software again.
    Tldnr; My computer was crashing to black screens with fan at 100%, my "i" key stopped working, the RGB lights on my keyboard kept screwing up and reverting to Red. I uninstalled iCue and these things seemed to have all stopped.
    Edit Update: It's the following day and my computer still did the crash to black screen fan ramp. My keyboard is still working fine, though, without the iCue. I wonder if I'll have to do a full driver reset on my computer and skip iCue.

    Same issue here on brand new build. Even the AIO is Corsair in my case, built the entire PC around Corsair ICUE compatible hardware. Did not install any motherboard control/monitoring software other than ICUE specifically to avoid compatibility issues like this. Yet it's constantly lights off + ICUE crash or long periods of very low frame rate in place of the ICUE crash if I disable SDK integration in ICUE settings (not that I enabled anything in any piece of software that would use it).

Bought icue H150x elite capellix AIO...even went so far as purchasing the lcd screen add on for the cpu pump. Within 3 weeks fan number 2 on aio is down to one led. My daughters system runs without any bsods. Her system is using an z790 msi board with asus psu and gigabyte 3080 gpu . We both have the same ram, cpu, AIO and storage drives (gskill 6400 ddr5, i7 13700k). My system with asus board, evga 3080 gpu and evga psu has a problem that barely started happening this month. The screen on the lcd h150 will just freeze and then the sysytem crashes. If I don't install icue it hasn't happened, but if I install icue latest version it's 100% crash after a few minutes and if I install the previous version that had 0 problems before I updated icue, it now crashes 20% of the time randomly after maybe an hour now. Yesterday it ran fine and also the day before. I was scrilling fb after turning on my pc and it sat there for about an hour and I thought "hope it doesn't bsod" and a minute later bsod "no execute memory". Wild stuff, gotta run memsched just for fun, though I'm pretty sure my modules are fine and it's something happening in icue that causes it to freeze. I'm leaning toward something like the commander still having some of the new update stored in it's cache and I'm dreading having to take apart the pc to get to where I have that thing tucked away in the piece of sh** of a case the nv7 that you can barely get the back panel closed if you don't use it's onboard controller for rgb and those fans.

    I just had to uninstall, after updating my icue to version 4.30.162. It literally made my games black screen immediately upon start up. Followed by a constant looping between the black screen and my desktop. I couldn't use my cursor at all to even hit restart or my keys. Will never be investing in Corsair again. I hear Asus motherboards were having a hard time last year. Now I'm guessing it's MSI's turn. Singlehandedly started making my $5,000 build render like less than a fuckin potato. Holy shit. EVERYTHING on default light effects and settings now.

When I have iCue up i see the cooler litterally disappearing and reappering from iCue. I have had it for maybe 2 years now, and it only started doing this after a recent firmware update. I'm not that intelligent with computers. It doesnt seem like the pump is actually stopping, is it possible my issue is just a bug with the software and not anything that could cause further damage?

      Good afternoon my friend. I'm Brazilian so excuse my English, I used the translator. I have the EXACT same problem as you. I have the Capellix 360mm and it keeps disconnecting the ICUE software pump. When that happens the sound, I hear the noise the "USB disconnected" too. If you notice, in Windows "device manager", when this happens, the window flashes. It's probably a firmware issue.

  • @jusmurkin

    I keep having a problem while streaming randomly where OBS and Twitch loses connection and my bitrate drops to 0 as if my internet went out, but it didn't! I have the same issue when I quit to my desktop when in a game when I try to boot it back up. I've even had all 3 monitors go suddenly black for no reason and I need to manually power it off and turn it back on to fix the problem. The one thing I notice when all this happens is my lights flicker, and I suspect the iCUE software is the issue. Sometimes iCUE won't even load up and it just stays running in the hardware settings in the app. My PC was built for me and is practically Corsair everything so I'd really like the app to work, but it just seems bugged and to be doing more hard than good.
