Hi Juliet, Hope you are OK and recovering well the sunshine should help. Weljel that you are able to get out and ride but totally sympathise with your need to take it steady and to be sensible. I'm currently in Gran Canaria, supposed to have been a weeks cycling holiday but a prostate biopsy put paid to that idea but the ticket was already bought. So hope that you continue to get stronger, take us with you and remember your not alone. Many thanks, Ken
A great video Juliet! It’s great to see your enthusiasm 😄👍 I so want to ride my bike! Thanks for making this video, any chance you could show how you packed your bike for the trip please? I would’ve hired one there, but it never feels right😉👍
La Graciosa is a really nice chilled out island and on my only visit I saw sand, deep sand at that, for roads. The taxis are 4 wheel drive land rovers, so I'm really not sure about cycling there. I'm sorry that I can't help more with gravel routes as I'm riding roads only. There's a massive mountain bike scene on the island and if you ask any of the groups out and about, I'm sure they will point you in the right direction. Good luck with your recovery and I hope you enjoy your stay 👍😎🚴
I’m in the southeast USA. We’re blessed with mostly rideable weather all winter long but I’m ready for the nicer weather too. Lanzarote looks beautiful!
I went to Lanzarote for a week over Xmas and took my gravel bike (Lauf seigla) I was based out of playa Blanca but had a fantastic time exploring the trails all around there. Followed the coast a lot which was a great mix of twin track and single track but perfect gravel riding. Had a few rides exploring in the mountains but felt it was right in the edge of the bikes capabilities. I ran 700x50 Hutchinson tundra over there which were bulletproof. Definitely want to go back this Xmas again.
An alternative way to La Graciosa is by sea kayak, look up Sea Kayaking Lanzarote, Sarah will help you with info about the Island as she and Juan run kayak trips there regularly. (Highly recommended). I’ve done some mountain biking from Costa Teguise, have a chat with the folks in Evolution Bikes, they will suggest routes which may be OK on a gravel bike. You rode past the shop in your video. Have a great time on Lanzarote.
I'm a month late, but excellent video! We're expecting snow this week, early April 2024. Love your style, and I'd love to see more Vlog style videos! Cheers!
You're staying in the exact same hotel I was in last April. Enjoy the buffet. Great chance to experiment (yorkshire pudding with lasagne was interesting). I was on a road bike so I don't have any useful tips...
Miss Juliet, Glad you made the right call by not competing. Relax, enjoy the islands and build back your endurance. Lanzarote is awesome looking. Thank you for the post.
Definitely the place to be in January ! 🌞 🌊 God wish I was there too, I'm hungry for an entire day worth of cycling up and down the island, better yet if there's something long, steep and challenging. Hope the fun continues and enhances even more for you in the ensuing days ahead 😊
“This is going to be a really annoying video if you’re stuck at home in the UK”… not for me cos I’m at the other end of Lanzarote and yes, the roads and views are amazing🚴♂️😊
I went through a phase where I felt like my immune system wasn't working, like you, sick lots of times in a year, then I leanrt about supplementing with Vitamin D and C - what a huge difference! Much better now. I also eat multiple garlic cloves per week, reduced my sugar, and extended my fasting window. I con't believe the difference it made. I hope that helps.
Looks like 7mesh has a wide variety of rider wear with many options no matter what you ride. My goodness what a beautiful place to ride. Thanks for the video Juliet.
Never wanted to visit Lanzarote until now, looked really nice. Enjoy your stay!
Got me pumped for my bikepacking trip to Lanzarote in a few weeks 🙌 thanks for the inspiration 😃 🚲 🏕️
That looks fabulous Juliette. I'd love to try that with my own bike as I have a cube gravel pro race and love it.

Stop at the roadside Bar El Bulin in Guatiza village ( Cactus Garden) for a beer when heading back south, cool little place!
Glad you had fun in the ☀️Juliet the best medicine
Thank you
Take it easy, recover, and enjoy yourself, Juliet.

Are your rides from PB available anywhere I’m heading there in a couple of weeks and looking for routes
Just literally back today from a week in Lanzarote. Wonderful place to ride. Amazing infrastructure we can only dream of.

Oh I’d LOVE to do this. Next time!
Make sure you take it slow and recover properly….its very tempting to get carried away when you’re in lovely weather….enjoy…😊
That's the plan!
Sunny/cloud😎 4C in Ont, Canada. Enjoy your cycling!!
Love these Canary Island vids - yes, your thoughts on them would be welcomed, they've been on my to-do for ages.
Lovely scenery, bet you're glad you're not racing 😊 Try to have an orange & other fruits daily, drink plenty of water & get enough rest 😍
Gorgeous ride!
Geez I don’t understand why you are so frequently sick, so sorry..
Not jealous, honest. In case you're wondering, it's still raining back in Blighty. Enjoy and bring some sunshine back please. 👍
I made 60km in La Graciosa. Stunning views, I had MTB bike with me, but gravel will do well. There is no major climbing there.
I'm a month late, but excellent video!

Where are you? There's been snow on Dartmoor I hear, though I've not been up there to see it

Never thought of riding in Lanzarote. Will give it a go at the back end of the year.
It’s amazing. Sometimes windy but not always

Would you mind saying the name of the hotel please.
@@michaelknibb4460 When her holiday is done for sure, no problem.
Ah nice hotel! No Yorkshires on my visit sadly
@@JulietElliottsChannel Unlucky. I was there for 4 nights and that combo was available on the first night but never again.
@@michaelknibb4460 Better late than never. Hotel is Barcelo Lanzarote Active Resort on the western edge of Costa Teguise.
Looks fantastic🤩🤩🤩. Enjoy while the rest of us do the wet’n cold rides here in Denmark🤪

Just back from Lanzarote and had an epic time on the MTB! BTW that track you had to double back on, is not even a MTB!
Haha, yeah I thought as much. Glad you had a good time

Wow stunning scenery, and perfect smooth roads..enjoy Juliet 😎
Juliet! You’ve got mail!
Looks pretty nice. This trip is just what the doctor ordered.
We'll be taking the mtbs again to neighbouring fuerteventura shortly.
It’s like a wise man once said - life is a roller coaster, just gotta ride it 🎵…preferably on a bike…in Lanzarote 😊
at least you didn't forget your battery- sun glasses - inner tube or mind
Makes a change!
