    Where did you get it from, how much a yard, did you use adhesive and finally did you have to prep the base? Thanks

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We ordered ours through our RV dealer in Palm Desert, CA for $300 (including shipping &tax). Because the the newer model of our camper has this same material, we were able to get ours cut to the exact size & have the edge bound at the factory. You can however get this same material from Trekwood RV Parts & Supply online. When you order from Trekwood, you would order the size you need and then you would need to take it to an upholstery shop to bind the edge unless you know how to do that. I know Hobby Lobby sells binding material and other people have used industrial hot glue to adhere it to the edge, however, I've never tried that and I think I would prefer to have it sewn on. Here'a a link to the same material that we installed that's on Trekwood's website. www.trekwood.com/products/1472514/S-O-Carpet-48-x-186-JubilationSoulfulGrey-Yukon They do have other size (and maybe other color) options available. You may want to call them as their website isn't very easy to search and navigate. I used the keyword "jubilation" to search their site as that is the color that we have. Type that keyword in and click through the pages to find other size options.
      We did not use any adhesive as the furniture that sits on top all gets screwed to the floor and holds it in place. Also, not much floor prep. There was a thin piece of reflective insulation that was under the carpet. We did remove a ton of carpet staples though and then just cut and placed the new material. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

    Roughly how many staples were in the old carpet? And did you try to use the same spots for the furniture, meaning did you try to use the same holes?

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would guess there were at least 150-200 staples. We did not try to use the same holes for the furniture, however, we did mark the wall with pencil where the dinette was against it so that we knew where to place it when reinstalling.

    Does the new stuff have a waterproof backing on it?

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @sjackson99 It is waterproof. We did a test letting a puddle of water sit on it for about 20 minutes and it didn’t seep through. The backing is a soft cloth like material (shown in the opening of the video), however, there must be a waterproof layer behind it that can’t be seen.

    Just curious how you attached the new vinyl flooring to the slide. It doesn't look like you stapled it in the video but it was moving so fast maybe I missed it?

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! Because we reinstalled the booth seating on top of the flooring, we only had to secure it in the corner behind the reclining chairs. I just used one small screw that wouldn’t be seen in the corner behind the chairs and our chairs are also secured to the floor with screws. So it is essentially all secured by the furniture. If you have a different setup, then I would recommend small staples or maybe even flooring glue or adhesive made for that application ran along the wall edges. Hope that helps!

    Is your slide floor flush with the main floor? Mine is not and I need something that will lay down nicely over the "lip" so to speak. My slide is about 1/4 inch higher that the main floor.

      We decided not to use any staples as the furniture was holding it down to the subfloor. All furniture is screwed down including the reclining chairs. We did put one screw with washer in the back left corner behind the recliners. Other than that the material is loose, but, doesn’t move around at all.

    Did you glue down. And how did you get edge sewon?

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The area under the booth seating is held down by the furniture that is screwed into the floor. We only put one screw (with a washer) in the back left corner behind the seats just to hold that in place until the recliners were reinstalled. The recliners are then secured to the slide floor with screws from underneath and that holds the flooring in place for that section. If your setup is different, I would recommend using small staples along the side and rear perimeter or you may want to glue it down along the edges and leave the remaining “floating”.

How did you adhere it to the floor?

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

If your setup is different, I would recommend using small staples along the side and rear perimeter or you may want to glue it down along the edges and leave the remaining “floating”

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

    Where to purchase carpet

      We ordered ours through our RV dealer in Palm Desert, CA for $300 (including shipping &tax). Because the the newer model of our camper has this same material, we were able to get ours cut to the exact size & have the edge bound at the factory. You can however get this same material from Trekwood RV Parts & Supply online. This is great work! I must have missed the source for the mat and silver layer you put down. Please share with us the link to the materials. Thanks so much!

      Thank you! The silver material is a thin insulation that was already under the carpet (installed at the factory). We just left that in place. Why not just replace with a vinyl tile or linoleum…? Seems like this will just get dirty like carpet and trap dirt and dander underneath. I’m genuinely curious? 🤔

    • @EddieAtLarge
      @EddieAtLarge  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was way easier to install this. Especially since I was able to get it with the factory edging. And it doesn’t trap the dirt underneath due to the solid (cloth) backing. It is also very easy to keep clean. We just vacuum it with our cordless Dyson vac on a regular basis and then wash it periodically with some mild detergent and water. Been a year and a half now and we still love it!
