      @calholli ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesplymire5342 I guess you don't understand the frustration of finishing a build and things keep breaking.. or you designed something wrong and have to change something major, etc.. It's hard to avoid. So there's a huge difference when you're still grinding through that-- vs when you've done many jobs without a single issue and it just feels unbreakable and ultra reliable and you don't have that little worry in the back of your mind of all the unknowns.. I'm not being a downer, I just understand what stage that thing was in at the time... Which I was totally right, because he went on to break both drive shafts not long after that... and the headers overheated some wires later after that, so he wrapped them... and the brake sensor lost pressure recently, and Jefe almost went barreling down the hill with no brakes. So I'm sure he will find a better, more reliable fix for that too, I'm sure. So call me a downer all you want, but I was 100% correct-- it's still in the teething stages.. But it's getting there. It's a fun rig.

    Matt, you should add a magnet to the magnet to each remote. If you wired a simple circuit with some lights, you could have a board on the dash showing whether all the remotes are accounted for or not. If all remotes are back in their "home", all the lights are green - if one is not, it would show red and let you know before you leave that you have problems.

    I LOVE PEANUT!!!!!! I spent most of the time watching Peanut while still trying to stay connected to the action in the video. She is a polite dog but also REALLY likes to be related to, and around you MATT. You are her favorite for sure. I mean polite when she accepted the treat given to her from the attendant, through Matt at the entry station of the park grounds. That was cute. She also seems to know when it is time to ask for "getting-out-and-running" privileges. I like to see her find the various perches that she will use when riding in a moving vehicle, either in the front, or back or outside on the wrecker. In this show she jumped on the cowl in front of the windshield while still in the garage (near the end of the show). That is one of the few dogs that I would like to have around me most if not all the time.

Second, consider 'Air Tag'ing them with some kind of sensor that talks to phones that could give you a warning when the remote is not in range and help with finding the direction of where they are.

    I gotta say, I really like Eric from BSF's system with that tow bar - The A-Arm lifts up the vehicle and takes the vertical load, then the lower tow bar controls the fore/aft motion. The Razer on this job was kinda all over the place.
    Upon thinking about it, you could probably fabricate a piece that slides into your hitch receiver, so that you can remove it if it's not required. Something shaped like a T-Bar that has the ability to hinge up/down. Ability to swivel probably wouldn't be bad, either, if you're recovering from a lot of rock crawling situations. Now I"m thinking some kind of large ball-joint type connection, to allow 6-way movement (up/down, left/right, and rotation), while still controlling that fore-aft motion.

    • @NBSV1

    We hardwired the “joysticks” used for controlling marine Bow Trusters into the winch control wiring, mounted on the dash for the driver.
    We also have extra winch control switches next to each winch fairlead for the co-pilot/winch monkey (for spooling in)
    The original remote controls are also stil usable, but we almost never use them.
    All the options…
    We run Warn 12v winches at 24v (switchable) with gigglepin dual Bow motors up front. Red Winch dual motor winch in the back. Warn m8000 in the center as a top winch.
    Lastly we run a pto driven “God winch” based on a landcruiser 80 series transfercase PTO (cut and reversed to run to the rear), driving a single samurai dif, driving a huge homemade drum with 70meter (210 feet?) dyneema rope. That thing is scary…It accelerates so fast when winching that the co-pilot can not outpace it in the mud, you can get run over.

    Matt, if you want more cheap traction on your big tires, you should sipe tem. It's a process used in winter areas. Basically, slicing the tire to create more edges to grab a slippery surface, ice, and smooth rock. This process does not damage tires, and they often run cooler. A professional tire shop can sipe tires. Good luck on the wrecker.

    Hey Matt,
    I got to say that you guys need to find a way to have the rear axel self align so that you don't have to worry about lining everything up straight before you continue driving. Maybe set a controller up that somehow allows you to program, say 3 to 5 minutes after you have used the controls, before it automatically aligns back to centres.
