For recovery where you have no good anchor, there's an old system of anchors that can be driven into the ground that will give you an anchor point. It's a metal plate or ladder with holes in it and rods that are driven into the ground.
I don't remember any of those trails until Duck Creek really expanded, with all the ATV traffic. I left that part of the country around 1989. I could be wrong, because I never went due north straight out of Duck Creek Village on the two tracks. I was on a lot of two tracks directly above Navajo Lake and going towards Cedar Breaks, plus way out the back end (west) of Navajo Lake on two tracks that took you back up to the blacktop going back down to Cedar City. Loved the area with all the lava fields and pine forests. Too bad the Bark beetle did so much damage. I could see the scars on the map from dead tree recovery above Navaho Lake. Take care.

Matt,s channel is always interesting, informative and you never know what they will get into. Love the whole gang. Great job guys!
Right 💯
Matt's crew, especially Lizzie are the absolutely most fearless people on youtube. Very good at managing risk.
Lizzie is exactly how I imagine my daughter when she gets older
She's brave
lizzy riding rodeo horse for a living. danger is in her blood. she is riding everything that dangerous. with matt supervision of course.
Hope you're that lucky. From what I see on this channel, Lizzie is an amazing young woman.
@@MrEazyE357 i think a major key to that is let them live life let them make their own decisions of course as a parent you must know when to step in
Lizzie you're one hell of a special lady watching you do what a percentage of men can't do is freaking awesome. Great video! God bless all of you, and stay safe.
Lol a percentage of men. Not to specific huh.
Holy moly it's not rocket science 🤣
It’s actually amazing how Matt just recently started using a winch. When I first started watching him he never used a winch.
Hopefully air bags will be next.👍
Winches can literally be a life saver especially if you are alone because even the most capable vehicles get stuck some times
He learned from Casey Ladelle and Casey start using a Yankum... that Matt sent him!
If the steering wheel would have been made out of coal it'd be a diamond by the time I got out. Lizzy is one a go for it gal. As a father I would have been a wreck. Heck, I was worried sitting here
Recoveries like this really show your expertise in recovery. Nice balancing of the UTV.
Lizzy just hibernates between rodeos and off-road recoveries... I call that effective energy management 😆👍
😋 Lizzy
And she has a Trap Shooting and a Rodeo belt buckle too. Her husband is one lucky guy.
@@alant5757her husband 😢😢😢
Fearless Lizzy, great recovery. I’ve watched from the beginning and have learned a ton. Even rescued a Ram 2500 Cummins w/ a CRV!
My one safety recommendation is secure your tackle & hardware sitting on the back deck. In a head on car wreck on the highway, they are cannon balls comming your way fast.
Love the channel.
Wow. Excellent, excellent point.
I'm always amazed by your many various landscapes, plus they keep changing. It must be an epic place to live and work.
I remain so impressed with your subtle use of power and steering to escape from these crumbling crazy holes in the surfaces. Its a work of art.
There is no question that Matt and team are superb at what they do. I admire how they never criticize the people who get into these messes. They are all so polite and nice. I do wish they would stop eating out of gas stations. They are young and healthy but that diet sooner or later will catch up with them and present BIG problems.
Lizzie DEFINITELY has nerves of steel! You GO girl! 👍
That was AMAZING---
Engineering is a very useful course of study.
I'm glad they included the travel time-lapse, those are always fun to watch
I was hoping they would do that. Was really cool to recall a lot of the landmarks along the way up the mountain out of Cedar City. Even the map he showed brought back memories of Deer Valley, Panguitch, Hatch, Duck Creek, Navajo Lake etc. When I was stationed out of Nellis AFB, I use to spend many weekends camping, fishing, and hiking around Cedar Breaks National Monument area .... I loved it, and really miss it.
"Easy peasy when you got the right stuff"
Right stuff being Matt and his crew ☆
9:07 if you look at lizzys face when matt says, " you cant get in anymore trouble than you are already in, unless that tree breaks"- is freakin priceless 🤣
she got him back as always.
😎 always refreshing watching Matt & his tribe tackling these jobs… Someones Momma / Daddy did a good job raising their kids. ❤️
Amazing work, more testament to years of rigging and rescue experience.
You really need stock footage of lizzy going “howdy howdy. Let’s get drowsy!” Then cut to a nap montage
Creep
😂 You are speaking the truth!
@@weedshoes5089 what is creepy about that? It’s funny as hell
@@weedshoes5089 only creep I’m seeing is you… your mind went where it should not have bud.
Yeah not everybody's out there trying to be a creep and the fact that your mind went straight to the gutter shows us that you might be in fact a creep yourself . And obviously Rick Z just found it funny like everybody else the fact that lizzie can fall asleep so easily in a vehicle that is bouncing all over the place so when you read comments like that think before you speak not everybody is a pervert she is obviously still a young adult no matter her age let's keep it professional I have a daughter so no matter how old they get they will always be a kid to you no matter her age it is inappropriate for you to be thanking the worst of people
That was a tough one! Lizzie is a brave girl
⭐️
Tucker seems like a pretty cool dude and you can tell he's gotten a lot more used to the camera now.
Your all great it's a pleasure to watch full of kindness and happines calming to watch can't wait to see you new recker running what a wonderful kind lovely young woman lizzie is to xx
If I could have one thing of Matt's it would be his throttle control.
My man!
14:36 "Easy peasy when you have the right stuff!" - Yeah, but only if 'stuff' is 'years and years of experience'!
Almost missed it! Hope you all have a great weekend! All love from Georgia
Best channel on TH-cam. Great people, doing great things.
That look Lizzy gives as Matt says "unless that tree breaks..." lol True pros at this job. I can see Matt analyzing things in his head as he decides what and how to do it. I'd be scared to death just riding along on some of the trails you all pull people out of.
"what's the matter phone?"
Bark!
"There's a RZR stuck in a well?"
"Easy peasy when you have the right equipment." Well, it takes a little more than having the "right equipment!" Having the knowledge and experience goes a long way!
i guarantee he said 'it was a easy recovery let me get a discount' after lmao
@14:38 The client actually said: "east peasy when you have the right STUFF..." For most folks, "the right stuff" means more than just the proper equipment. In fact, some guy wrote an entire book about "The Right Stuff".
all the gear, no idea ;)
For recovery where you have no good anchor, there's an old system of anchors that can be driven into the ground that will give you an anchor point. It's a metal plate or ladder with holes in it and rods that are driven into the ground.
hard to drive it into almost solid rock after the first few inches of dirt.
Take care.
I'm a truck driver and I absolutely love your videos One of these days I'll be able to get down to hurricane Utah and give you guys a visit like I've always wanted to
easy way and a hard way to get a visit
