- Deseret Brutality 2019 is officially in the books
Desert Brutality and Finnish Brutality are our main event versions of 2g-ACM (Two Gun Action Challenge Match).
They're very ambitious, very physical and very difficult matches on both the shooters and the gear.
We have a swath of stages, gear discussions, fun, sponsor conversations and more coming your way!

Desert Brutality 2019 - Stage 4 - Ramirez, Do Everything!
RAMIREZ! GO SOLVE WORLD HUNGER WITH THE PREDATOR MISSILES IN THE BURGERTOWN
This comment needs more likes lol
I have to say, Karl is truly showing his game show style of showcasing the course. He should go on Wheel of Fortune and present the prizes that the contestants will win.
He is a charming man
He really has got the _Price Is Right_ hand gestures down. "And at the end of the stage, if you have the highest score, you win: _A new car!"_
@3:22 picks up big metal target and holds in the air while thunderclouds converge in the background.
hold F to resupply.
Lt. Dan is getting fragged soon.
I haven't watched any InRange stuff since December (yeah, sorry) - and wow! Ian's progress since then is incredible. I have the highest respect for the amount of practice/training that must have gone into that kind of improvement. My hat's off to Mr. McCollum, srsly.
People must love Karl for all these wonderful "lets carry stuff" stages. I would not antagonize a lot of guys with guns.....
On the other hand, you have to figure if they signed up and paid money to participate in something called "Desert Brutality", they probably expected it to be at least kinda hard. Unless they misread the thing and thought it said "Dessert Brutality", and were only expecting to be asked to savage some cream horns.
Watching Ian casually walk this stage was comedy gold.
You can see Karl's years of ACM really paying off here in terms of accuracy when you're out of breath, tired, and probably hurting in several places.
Hands down the most entertaining gun content on TH-cam
I'm happy to see that Lt. Dan can still find work. However, I was sad to see Ian drop his pineapple, but then I was happy again seeing you both do very well on this stage.
Really outstanding shooting guys, especially with the physical component where you had to have some shaking element that made the whole thing - significantly - more difficult. That you guys designed it is awesome ! You are both Awesome. LOVE the channel (and Forgotten Weapons of course). Down to earth guys that produce incredibly interesting content. You can count me as a grandmother Dy_e FanGirl !
.
Adding some role play & cos play to gun play. Congratulations
Jeeze! My heart pounded just from watching Lt Dan being carried :) Great job guys!
That is just so evil it's beautiful.
Another Desert Brutality video? I'm sure studying can wait 12 minutes.
Yup, time for a pee break..... A looooong pee break
Study?Well in my country is righ now 3:00 :)
I'm in the same boat Breno
Honestly surprised at how useful throwing the rifle over your head is as a sling technique, impressive. Also, those soviet pouches always seemed clumsy to me but karl is very slick with them. Very interesting practical stuff!
Usually Ian is a bit fastest in the running intensive stages but damn Karl hustled his ass off. Well done sirs.
After Ian's run I thought "Wow, he crushed that". Then Karl did his run... Good work, guys.
Quite impressive job guys, I'm really liking this stages!
I was wheezing just watching this.
Number 1, well done Karl.
Nice run, again, Ian!
And Karl...DUDE.
Love the fast forward piano music, fits perfectly
This vid was great! I love the fun Carl was having
Karl's stamina was damned impressive on this stage. Almost two minutes of weighted sprints, and it barely slowed him down.
Desert Brutality! Starring Ian McCollum as Lt. Col Bill Django (Jeff Bridges/The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009))! Just need to plait that hair man!
Well done guys! That's not just hard shooting - its a workout!
That stage looks awesome!
Love this !!!!!! Nice going studs!
I think this is the only stage where Karl's hat stayed on haha, great job guys!
Aaaaand Ian just drops a random grenade?
Yeah!Its his skill.
FRAG OUT!
That must be how Lt. Dan lost his legs.
I have to say and no grief to any other participants, but I've only been watching KarlIan doing two gun and Brutailty so haven't had any reference as to the "actual" difficulty. However very recently I've been getting other vids about these matches in my feeds and I have to say these two dudes make it look way easier than it apparently is. Unfortunately now I'm starting to get the bug and there isn't anything like them around here in N. Va that I know of. So I'm going to have to start taking medicine to get over this infection. Probably some good Bourbon!
This has been so much better than Red October 2018
Lifting Lt. Dan the way Ian did it would mess up my spine for weeks. Can you bribe someone during those stages to do the carrying for you? Call it 'team work'.
I've been reading this as "Desert Brutality" and assuming it was because its in the desert until just now
Im loving all these videos! Id love to do something like this eventually
Deseret ftw!
WHAT A COMPETITION GUYS !!AWESOME SERIES,NOT YELLING JUST EXCITED !
GOD BLESS Y'ALL
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK/VIDEOS/COMPETITIONS
Idea for future matches with sponsors for each stage: a bonus run with both Ian and Karl using guns and gear picked out by the stage sponsor.
You ain't got no legs lieutenant Dan!
Ian got a lot cleaner in his shooting; Karl got a lot lighter on his feet. You two are the Ken and Ryu of 2gun ACM.
Lt. Dan sent me to the ER last year.
Ha! What happened? The whole time I was thinking that thing looks perfect for breaking someone's foot
At 3:10 with Ian facing away from the camera with his AR slung across his back you can
really see how well that green tape on the black rifle matches the tiger stripe camo pants.
You are looking very natty, Ian!
Also, after watching the last several videos I am really starting to salivate for one
of the Brownell's retro AR's. But, even if I really sqweeeeze muh butt cheeks with the
household budget, I can only afford one. AAaaaaarghhghgh....... which one, dammit, which
one??!
I'm really curious as to the prevalence of downloaded mags in this match's stage design- I remember it being a thing at tiger valley which is a big influence for deseret brutality, but I can't remember the purpose for it... I want to say it was from the want to focus on practical marksmanship versus just blam blam blam until the target is hit? Or did it have more to do with making stages safer/easier to run or maybe just more challenging/different?
In any case it looks like it was a great match. When I finally visit AZ I'll have to swing by 2GACME and spectate.
2nd. I though Ian had it. You bin workin out Karl.
Not surprised you didn't strap an Esstac plate carrier to Lt. Dan like hard as hell last year, it was a bit too much. Nice runs.
When you know its gonna be good so you dont even have to watch the video before hitting like :)
That was a good stage.
the one dislike is Lt. Dan
Man, that stage looked rough. I'd bet a red dot would have worked wonders in that initial leg, so long as you know your aim point for that short range.
Karl, you smoked them!
just a thought; could vietnam-era 30-round mag pouches work with socks inserted to hold 20-rounders in the correct height when sitting in the pouches? i thought that some old-timers did that when using 20's in 30-round pouches. even old cartridge boxes could work if you didn't want a waterlogged mag pouch. thoughts, anyone? i may be misremembering...
2 or 3 GI pressure bandages will also work
@@fafhrdkreig4739 didn't think of that; would they absorb water and get heavy?
@@fieldcommanderkurt not if they are still in the wrapping.
Yep sealed in plastic.
In ROTC we used to put 1 in the bottom of the 30 round pouch with 30 round mags just to lift them up a little to make them easier to pull.
Did you guys ever consider using a hasty sling, especially when shooting off hand?
I wanna see the other peoples runs with their retro gear
I wonder how it would play out with bolt actions.
This time Karl is the one who absolutely rocked the stage!
That one looks like a nice mix.
And by nice, I mean horrible, extreme and ridiculous...
Which is fun.
I wish I could have made it.
Holy crap this stage is diabolical.
That's not someone for questioning, that's the Comrade Political Officer you're carrying!
Just watching this gives me exercising migraines.
Penalties aren't enough. We must have coronaries!
Lol I got one for questioning best line
1:50 - esstac is that a Kiwi Running and Gunning?
did ian just drop a hand granade… did i really just see that.
I wish Brownells could do a Retro XM-148 launcher (and upper handguards) in 37mm complete with the elaborate sight of course.
Uh .. Did Ian clear his rifle when he left the shoot house around 2:45?
Eddie Bausch I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed this!
If he only had 5 in the mag and shot 5, then the bolt should have looked locked back. And when he reloaded you hear him hit the bolt catch, so it was an open action. He did strip the mag as leaving. So I think that counts as a cleared weapon, unless their rules specify to pull mag and run bolt back closed.
@@MijitB They were limited to 5 rounds on the first mag. My assumption is that it locked open and the RO was able to verify that it was clear.
Yea another In Range video! Happy Sunday!
Oh my god.
From the first 2min of the Video, that Stage looks evil..
Ooofta! That would be a killer on my aged knees. But I'd love to give it a try.
I'm at 2:11 right now... this sounds painful.
and after the runs, I was right... woof...
Does Dr. Matt know you borrowed Lt. Dan?
The cardio stage! ha.
That fast forward is soo funny.
3:14 Hey Ian grab that grenade too:)
Who want see American friend i thing Sinister on this stage?
Ian’s costume is fucking awesome
are we not going to talk about the grenade?
It's a dummy. You can tell by the blue paint.
180 seconds? No way you can do all that in 3 mins.
You both proceed do it in approx 2 mins.
Yeah, that's why I never place in the top half in competitions.
Serious question: What is the name of the style hat?
Looks like a pith helmet to me. The Vietnamese inherited them from the French.
Competition shooting prep rule 1: never miss leg day
I thought it was Anger Management..... Turns out I was right
Lootenant Dayn, I got you some ice craym
akm or 74?
Ian in thumbnail: Steel bar charge
Hi...We’re at the range today; please bear with any legless COs, transported artillery, gunfire and corny one liners in the background...
Lieutenant Dan Very cool the Demolitia representing at Desert Brutality.
All this stage needs is a spinner for Ian... ;)
1:34 Karl keeps hitting the woah and idk how to feel about it
I'm upset Karl didn't say, "Don't worry I'm from the internet."
Two things: who casually left a grenade with the kit? And I see hernias for everyone...
time to correct "deseret", don't you think?
Time to google, don'tcha think?
I think that Brownells AR would look bad ass with 203 hand gaurds.
that is a hard stage
A side by side video of this video would actually be great Just to see where Ian lost 20 seconds.
Deseret brutality? Have they always mispelled it?
Yes, and they said why in the intro episode of this series en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Deseret
rickeymariu1 it’s not misspelled. It’s a play on words because this was held in Utah.
Yes. I think they are referring to the competition being held in Utah in the location of the former Mormon self-proclaimed "State of Deseret " back in the 1840s.
Somebody screenshot that curtsy he did for dank memes LOL
Dang Karl keeping up on the cardiovascular system
Old Ironsides Patch!!!!!
"I got one for questioning!"
boy this stage XD
3:07 did I just see what I think I saw
What if you guys came to Oregon and did "Woodland Brutality - Dystentary Not Included" (I would go... haha thats a poop joke)
