I had a lot more fun going out to this event this year than I did last year. The friends I have made from the InRange community are some of the best guys out there. I cherish the moments I got to spend with the people I got to shoot with in my squad. No one has ever given me any real grief for being gay, or not behaving in a certain manner, or anything else. The only thing we cared about was that 1) we were safe and 2) we didnt phone it in on any of the stages. The Attitude of everyone there can best be summed up by two things: The amount of cheering Foxman (hunter) got for finishing dead last, and one of the phrases I heard uttered by more than one person at the event "You beat everyone who sat at home on the couch and didnt turn up"
Great shooting Sinnistral, and thanks for sandbagging the trial run so all of us made out of flesh actually stood a chance.

Just wanted to say thank you Russell. I enjoyed your commentary about the match and going into detail about your strategies and experience. For some one with very limited shooting match experience, it was really great to have an experienced competitor provide insight from this competition. Congratulations on your placement in both divisions!

Could it be that the name and/or publicity of the event is attracting more novices to attend? Whenever I choose to attend events I always get drawn into the big ones, for example.
And speaking of novices, I really want to get into practical shooting as a hobby, but getting around to it takes a lot of time here in Finland.

No doubt, I think that because Deser(e)t Brutality is an offspring of Karl, and as him and the event at least feel like known quantities thanks to all the material on InRange, it makes for a more easily approachable event to novices. Not to mention all the visibility that comes from Ian's fame.

When Russell is swinging that kettlebell right over the rifle, I selfishly wish it would slip out of his hand and slam into the rifle just to see how it would hold up/what would happen. I wonder if it would still function. I guess it depends on where it impacts.

Kasarda Drill SAFETY for the future! Never let the kettlebell go bellow your knees in ANY throw. That makes the back bend too much. And besides that giving to the possibility of the competitor having a trip off the range in a strecher, bending your back also makes for a shitty throw. This goes for both two handed throws and side one arm throws.

It does not surprise me that some people ended up injured throwing that. Kettlebell swings are dangerous even at lighter weights if someone doesn't know how to do them properly.

I thought this throwing kettle bell was rather interesting when I first saw it. Largest I could find was 40lb but that is plenty of weight, ha. This defiantly gasses you quickly. If you do not kill yourself doing these matches like this, you are going to seriously get in shape, ha. Just be careful of those injuries.
Stoner won by SUCH a giant margin. He just rampaged though the Armored + division. Cola Warrior thing...I get all the dragging tires and stuff but what is with all the vomiting?
I understand why people seem so interested in the Brutality matches. They are defiantly something special. More along the lines of training in a match environment more then other types of matches. I can not attend. Other side of the country. I can get ideas for my own personal stuff though, and I am sure that will help me in other types of matches too.
