My hysterectomy was scheduled for last Friday but had to be rescheduled due to a snowstorm. New date is Feb 3. And I'm glad I found this and Melanie's other videos

I'm 4 days post-hysterectomy due to a 12 cm ovarian cyst and bleeding, and I am so excited to get back to exercise and health when I am cleared. Having been more and more sick since 2019 from female issues like a growing cyst really messed me up. I tried everything from castor oil packs to heat and massage, but nothing helped. I really did not want surgery, but it was necessary. I wish everyone going through this a swift recovery!

I am 2 weeks post hysterectomy and I am so happy to hear that I am not the only not having a horrific experience. I am grateful and humbled by my recovery.
I am a runner too and I am so grateful I came accross this video! First positive video on post hysterectomy I’ve since 🙏🏼!
Good job ladies and thank you.

@@rachelcoleman4693 hi! I am now 4 weeks post surgery and back at the gym. Only using 8-10 lbs. I feel like I can do more but I won’t for now.
No swelling no discomfort at all. Feeling really good.
I hope you are doing well too.

Much appreciated. Having something to work toward is very important. I’m just starting week 4 after laparoscopic full hysterectomy.
I’ve been deep diving on the internet, articles, videos & talking to ladies who’ve been though this already. It’s tough- because everyone’s situation is so different. Positive stories are refreshing/inspiring to hear.
If I could prep again, I’d still do the meal prep in advance (protein emphasis in each meal) & I’d still get my house in order; but I would have added placing important and non important things within reach (not way back in the shelf, etc.) & run through my daily routine at least once- before surgery - making sure that what I need or want is at waist level and easily accessible( not too low or high). Less strain & more focused use of my muscles has felt better than trying to over reach.
I use a claw/grabber and that has been really helpful in picking things up (this has revealed my more clumsy side & I spill thing more than I realized). I also recommend setting up clothing for that first week (and beyond in my case) that will fit easily over my incision areas (high waisted everything has been great for me & crop tops & shift dresses). Easiest thing for me to wear has been sweats overalls - seriously would never have considered them- but I was kindly sent a pair from my sister & wow. Who knew?! They’ve been my most comfy option on my tougher days.
I’ve used a heated blanket underneath me at night & that’s been helpful.
I did do a workout/strength training for the weeks leading up to my surgery & im grateful for the extra investment on top of my active life style. I agree with the gals above- that prep goes a long way and I’ve picked up tips from many sources that helped me- so thanks & I hope to pass something along too.

Good detailed interview about the post hysterectomy experience. I just had my experience I agree coughing hurts but believe it or not laughter laid me out lol I mean it hurt so bad to laugh 😫😖. Taking it easy day by day to let the body recover. Protein and fruits. Look forward to be able to exercise. I was training with fibroids that made me look 32weeks. Huge fibroids around my uterus and inside. I was still pushing thru like a warrior. Nonetheless a painful journey mentally and physically. But the resiliency and the strength I have acquired I can only imagine what it will look like training again. With whole body mindfulness. Thank you for sharing this ladies. It’s encouraging. The awareness of this subject the space for women to come together and share promotes healing within itself. We deserve it all. Peace to you all.

Thank you for this video! Very helpful to hear so many things I relate to! I turn 47 tomorrow and had a robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy. Kept my ovaries but all else is gone! Much longer recovery than I expected. Three weeks out today. Inflammation and general cramping have stopped. Pain is now localized to 5 incisions. Light spotting which was scary at first - but it is common. I recommend light meals, ice packs, lots of water, probiotics, gentle movements, and short walks initially, sleep, and patience. ❤ Thank you for sharing your stories to support others!

Brandy, yes! Running is next level after surgery 😂 I’m definitely relearning how to exercise to ‘push’ myself little by little… can’t quite manage to run but will continue to walk/jog until I’m ready for that next level. I hope it’s the same for you and you’re back running as you did before, when it feels right❤

i stayed in hospital for 4 days 3nights, it is easier to get out of hospital bed since adjustable, if from low bed very painful, even low sofa, sit on hard chair (higher than sofa), coughing is a killer(find youtube how to cough after surgery)
