That could be somewhere in Outback Australia.

There is a sign at the back gate to Arches that says no OHV vehicles. Do you now if that excludes dual sports? It seems a little vague. Moab is simply epic.

Yes, the sign (on the way from the Willow Springs camping area just past the Dinosaur Tracks spot, a few miles before the "high clearance 4X4's only" sign which is one mile before Balance Rock) is a little vague, not unlike the Utah State OHV website regarding Dual Sport machines. The connector section you refer to is trying to say that true street legal machines from the factory like dual sport machines are legal, but if you have plated, for example, a side by side or your YZ250 for the street - that would not be allowed. That's because the manufacturer has designated the machine to be an OHV. Many jurisdictions allow SXS's and quads to be operated on the street - just not on this portion of the trail. I don't understand the reason for that restriction, but so be it. Thank you for watching and for your query.

@@jamescox4823 The sign at the west entrance ( 38.701597, -109.635059 ) reads "All types of Off Highway Vehicles including registered street legal Are Prohibited". This sign can be seen on Google maps street view. I had some head scratching moments here and concluded this: Though Mrs Piston's quad is plated and insured, it is an Off Highway Vehicle, so would not be permitted here. My 350EXC-F is a fully street legal Motorcycle as designated by the manufacturer, not an OHV like their similar EXC model is. A street Motorcycle would be every bit as legal on that road/trail as the Google photo vehicle. I think we can agree that the sign wording and intent is vague. Thank you for weighing in.

I went on my CRF250L (plated, street legal) and passed on challenging the reg. It even said "motorcycles," so I didn't feel like getting into an interpretation of the reg with a ranger solo on the trail. But, perhaps it probably is OK for a plated bike. Something I plan on clarifying next time I'm in Moab. Nice video, brings back great memories camping there earlier this year.
