    Brilliant performances in an astonishing and gorgeous story. Through Peter Turner, I learned about the wondrous and magnificent Gloria Grahame who I'd never heard of before. Many thanks!

      Yes, Annette Benning really nailed the Gloria Grahame role. Entire cast was impressive. Hadn't seen Julie Waters lately, she's always wonderful. I've been a Gloria G fan since I was a kid. She's among the best of all film noir actresses. Too bad she didn't have a more successful career, as she got older. Gloria was great looking and very sexy, too. That infamous pout, those big eyes...😍😍

    I always thought Gloria was a lovely and appealing person and I didn’t know much of her history until I saw the film. It was really emotional. She was ahead of her time I agree.

      I have the actual film screening in a separate window on the computer and as I'm watching the above interview with Peter Turner, he also appears in the film in the cameo role of Jack, the stagehand at the one-hour-twenty-five-minute mark. What a coincidence.

      When I bought the book many years ago upon release I was disappointed that it had no pictures of them together except for a blurry picture on the dust jacket. It took away some the books credibility as far as I was concerned. Still would like to see the movie, though.

      @@samuelparker9882 Bullshit. That was an allegation by Nicholas Ray. Ray, while a great director, was an alcoholic/drug abuser and a notorious womanizer. He seduced a very young, 16 yr old Natalie Wood in 1955. I wouldn't believe a damned thing Nicky boy said. Gloria and those around at the time all indicate that the guy in question was a grown man, when they got romantic. Also of note on this, Gloria and Ray's son, from another marraige, Anthony, remained married for 14 yrs. Ten more than her marriage with Nick lasted. I suggest you delve into this a bit further, before you judge and get nasty about a woman like her. Jackass.

    • @wk1810
      @wk1810 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@waynej2608 actually, the marriage lasted 14 years in name only. They had separated years prior but had only filed for divorce years later.

      @@waynej2608 Tony Ray admitted the affair with Gloria (when he was 13 years old) to Dennis Hopper who confirms it. Anthony Ray (son of Nicholas Ray) also admitted the affair to his son, James Ray. Gloria Grahame married Tony Ray in May of 1960, when he was 22. They went on to have two sons, Tony Ray Jr in 1963 and James Ray in 1965
