@@AlexAutoFun thanks for replying quickly Alex, I just bought this one from Amazon. It is getting hot from those vent sides specifically just beside the rear camera plug slot. I kept the camera running for 15 minutes and it was hot cake lol I was afraid.

I just got one of these this week, it was a pretty simple install, and I checked the app on 3 different devices and had no problems viewing the videos. iPhone 15pro, Samsung Fold5, and the iPad m4 pro. Video quality is really good, as is audio. Was thinking about doing the hardware power for always on, do you have any thoughts on that?
Congrats on your new dash cam W! Ah yes hardwire can free up your cigarette lighter socket and also enable park mode. Here is my video for how that kit works th-cam.com/video/0KwoF1ZVnsc/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Hi Alex, I purchased the RedTiger F7 NP from Amazon not too long ago and I was looking for TH-cam info about it and your channel popped up, great video and you made it a lot easier for me to understand the F7NP dash cam functions than the owner's manual did, thanks. When I was doing the initial set up I used my Jackery PowerStation to plug in the F7NP for 12-volt power. I haven't installed it in my vehicle yet and I have a question ; I don't want to install the 'Hard wire Kit' in order to use the Parking Monitor mode function so I was thinking about using my Jackery power source for this function on occasion, do you think it would work ? I contacted RedTiger and they said that it would not work. My Jackery has a 12 volt plug just like my vehicle so why wouldn't it ? Thanks again for your very informative videos
Thank you Jeff! Ah some people run their dash cam off a battery pack. I personally don't due to the high temperatures the interior of a vehicle can experience (which I prefer not to subject the battery to) and due to the potential for a run away event (fire) during charging or discharging inside the car. Good video. i may decide on this one. I have some questions. Can i get the sticky mount separately? Did you try the polarizing lens? Does this one swivel sideways at all? I see the up and down but what about left to right? I like that it can be removed easily. If i want i suppose i can use the Rear cam for interior also.
Thank you! Ah I don't think so, you would want to go for the F7N if you want the sticky mount. Here is the review for it th-cam.com/video/tWanKbCxS1M/w-d-xo.html Regarding swivel, not it does not turn left or right, for that you would want this one th-cam.com/video/_ufbBj6AeuE/w-d-xo.html Regarding polarizer, yes it does support it, I also placed the link to it in the video description. great camera but the wifi function usually sucks for me. i’ll try to playback footage on my phone and it buffers so much it’s unbearable so i usually just do a manual transfer of footage to my computer. anyone else having the same issues?
Hi D! I haven't had that issue, but I would recommend testing the App on a different phone to see if the issue is tied to a specific phone model (or OS version). And if you are still having difficulty playing back videos, you can also contact RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Cheers!
@@uzuzula2464 Hi U! I have no experienced buffering issues with the F7NP but yes 5G dash cams usually can increase the download speed if you want to download the videos to your phone (remember 4K videos are very large files and will consume a lot of memory on your phone) here is a good alternative if you want 5g th-cam.com/video/_ufbBj6AeuE/w-d-xo.html or this one th-cam.com/video/DVwheRdnpvI/w-d-xo.html in the A4 configuration. Hey, can you run me through a manual transfer? Like do you just move the whole card to a phone/computer or does the camera come with a cable for transfer? I usually don't have wifi much less reception in a lot of places I travel. Even text won't go through at times.
@@koppolaholland9949 oh, I just take the camera from the car and connect it to my computer via usbc to usba. then i cut/paste the footage into a folder. becareful with overdoing this because i actually burnt out the card that came with the camera from this process and i had to get a sandisk high endurance one for $40, not fun. if you can be patient with the buffering, just use the wifi feature to download the videos to your phone. support got back to me and they said it’s the best way to preserve your cards aside from formatting every 25 days.
Hi, I just saw your video. I bought from Amazon the F7N TOUCH. Not the regular F7N. With the one that I purchased, it looks exactly like the F7N P. By any chance, do you know the difference between them? I appreciate any information you can give.
Hi Monica! Ah yes I seen the Touch but unfortunately I have not tested it, so I can't comment on how it compares to the F7NP. But I will see if we can add it to the list of to review (list is getting longer by the day! LOL) Cheers!
Hi T! All dash cams recommend regular formatting to ensure the memory card performs well (and potentially last longer). Now the intervals of formatting are up to you, some do it every week, some every month, some like me every 6 months because I'm lazy LOL and some only will do it once the dash cam stops recording due to lack of formatting (the card can become saturated with locked events). And if the car is rarely driven, then the intervals could be longer as the memory won't see much use. Cheers!
Hi Q! You can see the quality of the video during the test drive portion of the video (feel free to use the chapters to jump to the section you like). And if capturing license plates is the main priority, here is dash cam that specially was designed for that function th-cam.com/video/d6OObfweGts/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Do you recommend using an electrostatic sticker when putting the camera? I don’t know if it’s me but I did put the sticker first and then the camera. It’s falling, so I had to take off the sticker. I
Hi P! I never use the electrostatic sticker but the electrostatic sticker does make removal easier and can also help to reduce any adhesive left over usually left by the dash cam when applied directly without the sticker. Cheers!

Hi, Alex! Do you think I would be able to use this as a backup camera as well? I have been trying to find a backup camera/dashcam combo that doesn't cover my rearview mirror or is wireless. So far, this one seems the best, but I understand it isn't marketed for parking assistance. Thanks!
Hi T! Ah I think that will depend on you as far as the screen size. If you are ok with a small screen then yes this or this one th-cam.com/video/uYhHgjI1oOE/w-d-xo.html may help some, or this one th-cam.com/video/_ufbBj6AeuE/w-d-xo.html if you want something slightly larger but usually I recommend a large screen if you want park assist in full clarity, this ones would be a good choice if you don't want to go for a mirror one th-cam.com/video/a8-stj3H2Mk/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/rPKSmVbXJBU/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/0c8GoBEIA4Q/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/b2JXMQyU-24/w-d-xo.html if you want it HUD style. Cheers!
Hi Z! This will heavily depends on what resolution your run the dashcam at, how many channels you use, how many "locked events" you have (as those take up space in the memory card as they won't be overwritten since they were triggered by the G-Sensor or manually by the user) etc. However remember the dash cam will record continuously during your drive as it uses loop recording to ensure it always records. Cheers!
I had a Nexar dash cam that lasted me about 2 years however what I disliked was its dependence on my wifi. Often times my camera wouldn’t auto record, and gps would not work if my wifi wasn’t connected. Will i have any similar limitations with this camera? My CarPlay adapter requires my phones wifi too, and I’d hate to lose wireless CarPlay.
Hi F! Ah I cover the Nexar connection issues here th-cam.com/video/8bWYvNcam3M/w-d-xo.html But regarding the F7N, nope it does not require you to use the App nor to use the Wifi (they are fully optional) Cheers!
Hi G! To connect to the WIFI, you would connect the same way you would connect to your internet router, in your phone settings you would select the dash cam's WIFI and connect to it. Cheers!
Hi F! Here is my install video th-cam.com/video/44WXN8MI66o/w-d-xo.html (same as a mirror dash cam, except that the F7NP mounts to the windshield instead of the car's mirror. Cheers!
The Redtiger is a great dashcam at its price tag as compared to ths competition. However, it's fair with picking up license plates. I know it has a 4k resolution option but that comes only with 30 frames per second. That's too low considering you and/or the other side will likely be moving at different speeds when $ht actually happens, which means you will only get some high resolution pictures of a blured license plate even at very close distances. I have not tried other dashcams so I don't know if other brands are any better than this one. But to be fair, there is an option of 1440 (2K) with 60 frames which is slightly better when it comes to picking up license plates. They also provide a 1080p with 120 fps but the footages really don't look like a 120 fps to me. Another con is the G sensor isn't really that sensitive. I had to go with the 12hrs timelapse option since the G sensor didn't seem to respond as it should regardless of how you set it. If you consider buying this cam and you would like to activate the Parking Mode, I recommend you use the maximum storage allowed by the cam specs, which I believe was like 256 gbs. Good luck
Hi S! Ah yes, high frame rate, scheduled exposure and a narrow lens are the key to capture license plates. If capturing license plates is the main priority, here is a dash cam that specially was designed for that function th-cam.com/video/d6OObfweGts/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
@@salahalsiqami6589 Yeah definitely, thats is why I like to tell people that when choosing a dash cam they should consider all it's features and specs as a whole. And if few cases like license plate capture then a specialized dash cam (specially when run in a dual dash cam setup for redundancy in case the main dash cam fails, assuming budget allows for it of course) Cheers!
Does the parking mode Timelapse option (12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours automatically save videos in the REDTIGER app under “loop recording”? What is the purpose of Timelapse option?
Hi A! On the memory card It is saved to the "Park" folder, it's purpose is for Park Monitoring which is why the Time Lapse will be under the "Park" folder (and if using the App, they are found under the "Locked" folder) Cheers!
@andersonmoise2841 Hi A! Nope, using the App is not required. The Park folder is accessible via PC (my preferred method as I hardly use the App) Cheers!
Hey there! I just got the same dash camera, but I’m not planning to hardwire it since I want to stay away from the fuse box. I’ll be using the cigarette lighter adapter instead. To avoid draining my battery, should I just unplug it every time I leave the car and plug it back in when I get back inside? Is this safe to constantly do? Thank you in advance!
Hi A! If your cigarette lighter port turns off and on when you turn on and off you car, then the dash cam will come on and off with the car (so it will not drain you car battery). But if your plug is always on even when the car is off, I use one of this ones amzn.to/3BofzJI to control the lighter port manually and ensure the dash cam turns off and not drain the car's battery. does it read license plates? my current dash cam is pretty cheap and license plates are illegible. also, i think it's important but storage temperature requirements. can it withstand temperatures of down to -6 F, up to 130 F? where i live the temperatures fluctuate that much in winter and summer. i guess 8:27 answers my question. it looks like there is some clarity to license plates at a short distance. the truck on the left is legible but the car in front is barely.

I’m still very lost! Do I have to manually be doing something on the camera every time I turn on the car? Even when the camera seems to be recording, I don’t see anything in the app. Could you please do a video from the beginning where you’re doing the setup to link it to the app?
Hi S! Ah there is nothing you need to do, the dash cam (if properly installed) will automatically begin recording. Here is my follow up video showing each of the settings in detail th-cam.com/video/K7qURDfoR7c/w-d-xo.html Regarding connecting to the WIFI, you would connect the same way you would connect to your home router, in your phone settings you would select the dash cam's WIFI and connect to it (make sure the Dash Cam's Wifi is also On as some dash cams allow you to turn it off and that you have the correct password). If you are still having issues I would recommend contacting your installer, they can likely walk you thru how to connect to the dash cam's Wifi. I would also recommend taking a look at the manual or contacting Redtigerfor tech support if your installer is not able to help, they may be able to walk you thru the process of connecting to a Wifi network. Cheers!
Hi Does this dashcam have capability to view the videos on the app directly from any remote location? Or is it mandatory that we need to be connected to the device to view the same
Hi G! Wifi enabled dash cams do not let you access them while your away from the car. What you are looking for is a Cloud connected dash cam like this one th-cam.com/video/EBLvq2X2SwQ/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/pe7MCtun4So/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/8Q-u3PHmfls/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/BAEH4f2ulEs/w-d-xo.html (live video, tracking, notifications to your phone etc.) Cheers!
Hi I! That would depend on your preference, some people want impact detection (where the dash cam begins to record if an impact is detected) and some people prefer constant recording via Time Lapse. Cheers!
For the parking monitor, do i turn it on and off each time? And in the manual it says unplug when not in use.. so having the parking on its technically in use i guess
Hi S! If you turn it On, it will stay On (parking mode). When correctly hardwired the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the dash cam's setting) when the car is off. I think the reasons some people turn off parking monitor is: to reduce power consumption, when the vehicle is in a safe location, or when they don't necessarily want themselves on camera when the vehicle is in a private location (usually a private garage will see it's fair share of people in undies and other stuff you might not want to have on camera LOL) Cheers!

Hi I just received my dash cam and it looks like it is to be installed through the cigarette lighter of the car but I do not have a cigarette lighter in my car. How do I install it?
Hi F! When correctly hardwired the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the dash cam's setting) when the car is off. I would have the installer check all the connections (ACC, BATT & GND) to confirm that they connected to the correct locations for ACC and BATT (I seen cases where the dash cam stays on constantly if ACC and BATT are reversed or connected to the incorrect locations that does not provide power at the correct time for both ACC and BATT) Here is my follow up detailed hardwire install if you want to see that process th-cam.com/video/K2iKXj82354/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Hi K! As mentioned in the video, it supports a maximum of 256GB. And I placed the link to the memory card I use on the video description if you need it. Cheers!
Hi K! Yep there are two longer versions of the rear camera cable I placed links to them in the video description (very rare to use them, I personally have not used one yet, usually end up with a lot of excess but I imagine large vehicles like a truck with the camera placed all the way to the back instead of the cab may need them). Hi H! Remember your cell phone (like most phones) can only support one WIFI connection at a time, so you can only connect to the dash cam or to Android Auto but not both at the same time. I had a bad REDTIGER F7N touch, it worked malfunction, it was connected with hardwire with park mode available but no parking video was captured, meanwhile video captured in driving mode in Timelapse and saved in Park_F folder. 😢
Hi E! The F7N does not support driving timelapse, it supports park monitoring time lapse, this the reason the file was saved in the Park_F Folder. Regarding parking mode, if set to G Sensor Trigger, it will record when the vehicle is impacted hard enough, if your vehicle was not impacted hard enough the G sensor will not be triggered. If you want video of parking regardless of impact, then you would want to select TimeLapse mode. Cheers!

Nice, congrats on your new dash cam Bob!
great camera but the wifi function usually sucks for me. i’ll try to playback footage on my phone and it buffers so much it’s unbearable so i usually just do a manual transfer of footage to my computer. anyone else having the same issues?
Hi D! I haven't had that issue, but I would recommend testing the App on a different phone to see if the issue is tied to a specific phone model (or OS version). And if you are still having difficulty playing back videos, you can also contact RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Cheers!
I was thinking of getting one of the newer cameras with the 5G WiFi, idk if that fixes the long buffers to view the videos…
@@AlexAutoFun Thank you for the prompt response!
Hi Alex!
Do we HAVE TO reformat once in awhile ?
If I forget to do so the dash cam don't work?
Cheers!
Is the camera able to read the car license plate at night ? Thank you
Cheers!
I'm confused between the Redtiger F7N and the 70Mai 510. Both are dual-channel dashcams and are priced similarly in India.

Hey long will a 256g memory record? For example im about drive for 14 hours and I want to record the entire trip. If nothing happens then delete.

@@AlexAutoFun Don't get me wrong. The Redtiger F7NP is a great dashcam for its purpose - recording road traffic accidents and security.
@ So you can only access the park folder and locked folder while using the app in the car with wifi only?
@andersonmoise2841 Hi A! Nope, using the App is not required. The Park folder is accessible via PC (my preferred method as I hardly use the App) Cheers!

Hi
Does this dashcam have capability to view the videos on the app directly from any remote location? Or is it mandatory that we need to be connected to the device to view the same

Hey what’s the recommended setting to select for the parking mode?
