While solar panels sounds like an exciting solution, it has proven not to be feasible at the current moment. Some members of the community have given it a shot, here is one such thread: dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/battery-pack-battle-royal-pc8-b-130x-bab-95.49084/#post-600395
I got BlackVue from you guys in 2021. Every single time when I needed it did not work. It finally died (infinite reboot) and I’m looking for new one. I will never again get any BlackVue product! Also what they did with “on by default” live stream of audio and video to the public….. will lend them with nasty class action
@@lekobasketball def agree with U. Mines is trash . Reboot reboot reboot . Changed SD card over and over again. Reformatted it and nothing. Waste of money. Looking for a new one too
I've using dashcams in our vehicles for over 12yrs. However, I too have been apathetic in updating our systems (though mounting is the reason). About 6 yrs ago I was side swiped in the parking lot of Cedar Point--never saw the vehicle and neither did the front nor the rear camera catch anything but the aftermath (rear camera). Luckily the kids in my truck and the other driver were ok. I swore I would install side-viewing cameras, but here I am 6 yrs later....
The u3000 does a great job with heat & cold just wish they update their cloud feature, came with lte , more options alerts like tell what time it happen instead of just how many.Another thing with u3000 parking mode with my powercell 8 i havent charged the battery pack in months thanks to that now if it was a blackvue I would need to charge every day depending on long my drivers were & it was annoying really when i had to. I do wish they update their night time video it's not that good especially how much so many brag about the star 2
The U3000 has great features (especially in parking mode) but it, unfortunately, lacks HDR! I doubt that you will ever see an improvement in night driving video resolution (even with STARVIS 2)! STARVIS 2 IMX 678 + HDR + Novatek 96529 + CPL filter = best available imagery (day or night) in my opinion! That’s the configuration that most people are alluding to when they boast about STARVIS 2 image quality!
Depends how in-depth you want the coverage to be. Realistically, $250 should be an adequate range for coverage, with a mic for audio recording and good quality. The VIOFO A229 Plus Duo, or Thinkware Q200 2-CH would be good options.
Absolutely! It's awesome that your BLACKVUE 450-1ch is still going strong. I noticed you mentioned the VIOFO A119-2ch, but it seems like that model doesn't exist. Could you let me know which VIOFO model you actually have? Also, I'd love to hear what you liked about it and what you're looking for in a new dash cam. Upgrading could be a fantastic move, especially with all the new features available in the latest models.
Hello Thanks for the informative review. My question is that 1) Does the PowerCell 8 have higher capacities other than 7500mah? 2) Do you guys sell power cable to power the power cell 8 in house (which I can use to charge the battery in the confort of my home and simply return back to the car when full) 3) Is thinkware planning on doing anything on the image quality in terms of firmware update or the likes? Thank you as I anticipate your detailed response
Hi there, glad you liked the review! 1. The PowerCell 8 has a capacity of 7500mAh. You can extend this by connected a Cellink Neo Extended (6,600mAh). 2. Yes, you can certainly charge a battery pack in your house! All you need is the cigarette lighter adapter of the camera and a Power Inverter, we sell them here: www.blackboxmycar.com/products/blackboxmycar-power-inverter 3. I've heard no word at firmware updates to improve Thinkware image quality, but it's possible. I can say that VIOFO is working on imrpoving it's resolution options further, such as this firmware update: viofo.com/blog/firmware-updates-viofo-a229-pro-a229-plus-version-v13-beta-b119.html

One of the best videos I’ve watched on dash cams. 👌🏼 I have a couple of questions though. If we get an OBD Power Cable, shouldn’t we be able to power any dash cam? Why did you mention this as an option only for Thinkware Q200 from this list? Moreover, if I opt not to use GPS connector with Q200, will all other features still work fine?
Hi there! Thank you for the kind words about our video! If you need more details about OBD compatibility or GPS features for specific models, our team can help info@blackboxmycar.com
It would be great if someone can create a front Dash Cam for your front license plate. Preferably 2K or 4K for pickup Trucks. Dash Cams over heat on windshield. Not to mention in the way, when you put sun shades on windshield. Also pickups are great when you have a front cameras, so you can park closer to curbs or parking lines. Nobody sells front cameras that are dash cams and not a rear camera showing a mirror image with backup lines. You also don’t have to worry about reflection from windshield or wet windshield blocking view.
i'm just curious, with the blackbox battery, does that mean i wouldn't have to hardwire my dashcam if i wanted 24hr protection? is it something that needs to be recharged?
Great questions! With the BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 Battery Pack, you wouldn't necessarily have to hardwire your dash cam to your vehicle's battery to get around-the-clock protection. The battery pack can be charged via a plug-and-play connection using the vehicle's 12V socket or through hardwiring to the fuse panel. If you choose the plug-and-play setup, the charging time will be longer (about 100 minutes), but it avoids the need for hardwiring. The hardwired option charges faster (about 50 minutes). Yes, the battery pack does need to be recharged, but it only recharges when your engine is running, so it won't drain your car’s batter
I’m still very new to all this and I’ve watched multiple videos and still feel very lost. I want a dash cam for front and rear, records 24/7 video and sound, and the image is clear day and night . I don’t care about the price tag, I just want to get whatever’s best and before I go buy a 500$ camera or any cam, that it’s going to be worth it. If anyone could please help

Do you have a video on how to install the Viofo A229 Pro To the fuse box (have a radar detector hardwired to the mirror already) for someone not mechanically inclined. And if we got the battery cell how would you connect that as well hardwired as my 12V are already occupied. Connection the 3 way camera is already one thing but adding the battery cell?
One thing I don't understand, is how they can possibly have 4k front, 2k rear, and potentially even a 1080p interior, and still use the same v30 microSD card. How can they possibly write all of that video to the card? Seems like they would need a better card, or multiple cards.
Hi there! you're absolutely correct that higher capacity and faster cards can be beneficial, especially for multi-channel, high-resolution setups. Some high-end systems do indeed recommend faster cards (like V60 or V90) for optimal performance. If you're concerned about your specific setup, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team at info@blackboxmycar.com. They can provide tailored advice based on your exact dash cam model and usage patterns. What dashcam would you recommend to have a clear view even with those light refraction issues i have? Please help , finding a best dual dashcam
Sounds like a tough situation. I recommend the A229 Plus Duo. This has the best quality rear camera out there at the moment, with Sony STARVIS 2 in the rear camera recording 2k, and you can turn on HDR to try and help with the contrast, not often offered in rear cameras.
i dont really drive my car too much, so it's mainly parked in the street. I've noticed my car sometimes having scratches and marks that weren't there before. what type of dashcam is best for cars that are mainly parked, not driven?
Sorry to hear about the scratches on your car. For a parked vehicle, a dash cam with parking mode is crucial. It monitors your car and records incidents like vandalism or scratches even when the engine is off. Look for dash cams with motion and impact detection in parking mode to save power while capturing key events. Some models also offer buffered parking mode, recording before and after an event. To prevent draining your car battery, use a dedicated dash cam battery pack. For recommendations, visit our Best of 2024 page: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/best-dash-cams. Hi, love the info but I have questions?? I need a dash cam for my 94 pick up with camper. I don't drive it very much so I'm mostly interested in the best camera for parking mode. Also how does parking mode work if the camera is plug & play since the lighter plug isn't powered after the truck is shut off? Also can I have the camera wired to the Camper battery as that battery doesn't actually start the truck?
For your 94 pickup with a camper, focusing on a dash cam with a strong parking mode is a great choice, especially since you don't drive it often. Parking mode is designed to monitor your vehicle when it's turned off, providing added security. To enable parking mode when using a plug-and-play setup, you'd typically need a continuous power source, which isn't provided by the lighter plug once the vehicle is off. However, you have a couple of options: Hardwiring Kit: This option connects your dash cam to the vehicle's fuse box, allowing it to draw power even when the ignition is off. This setup is ideal for enabling parking mode. Battery Pack: You can also use an external battery pack, which charges while you drive and powers the dash cam when the vehicle is off. This prevents any drain on your vehicle's main battery. Regarding your camper battery, yes, you can wire the dash cam to the camper battery if it provides a stable 12V power source. This setup would allow the dash cam to operate independently of the vehicle's main battery, ensuring parking mode is always active. I was looking into getting a dashcam a bit ago, but I noticed on your website that you may not do installs on BMWs. Is that still the case, and if so, I'm curious as to why. I assume there's something about their setups that make it incredibly annoying to install on. For instance, I have a 2019 X1, and I'm curious if that's a model you have done or would do installs on.
Hi there! Actually, we do install dash cams in BMWs! They just require some special considerations and expertise due to their unique electrical systems and design. We have specific installation guides for BMWs and have done many successful installations. Hi there! If you're looking for dash cams that operate with supercapacitors instead of lithium-ion batteries, BlackboxMyCar offers several models that utilize supercapacitors for better temperature resistance. Here are a couple of options you might consider: VIOFO A119 V3 - This model uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery, making it more suitable for extreme temperatures. VIOFO A129 Plus - Also equipped with a supercapacitor, this model is designed to withstand both hot and cold conditions. Supercapacitors are excellent for handling temperature fluctuations, ensuring that your dash cam remains operational in hot climates. In theory you could use a dash cam as a traditional home-security camera, however they are mainly designed for vehicle recording, and will likely run rather hot if they are recording 24/7 as if you were driving. It may be better to invest in traditional home security system like Ring or Lorex for this. Check out "The Hookup" on youtube, who has some great videos diving into this subject.
Yes, you're correct. Thinkware Connect does require a constant internet connection, which typically means a 24/7 mobile hotspot. Most mobile hotspots do turn off when the car is off, which can be a challenge for maintaining a continuous connection. Still, there are still some hotspot option when the car is off., some of them are powered by OBD ports.
Are you referring to the Drone XC dash cam? If so, I haven't heard of it before, and we don't currently have plans to review it. We recommend BlackVue when it comes to the cloud. For a thorough understanding of Live-streaming dash cams, check out the hook up's video here: th-cam.com/video/hhnsOQ3Xmnk/w-d-xo.html.
Pretty hot! We recommend the Thinkware U3000, or the Thinkware Q1000 if you're on a budget. We have a whole page dedicated to heat resistant cameras, which you can find here: www.blackboxmycar.com/blogs/news/best-dash-cams-for-high-heat-environments
I got a VIOFO 229 Duo almost 1 year 8 months ago and it has stopped working. I bought it for a hefty price of $289 after almost 2 years of working the screen has a glitch and gives out after being in the sun for a few hours. I’m assuming most dash cameras will give out after being in 100+ degrees out in the sun
I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your VIOFO 229 Duo. It can be frustrating when devices don't perform as expected, especially after a significant investment. While dash cams are designed to withstand a range of temperatures, extreme heat can sometimes impact electronic devices. Since your dash cam is still within the 2-year mark, I recommend checking if it's still covered under warranty. VIOFO usually offers a 1-year manufacturer warranty, but some retailers or extended warranty options might provide additional coverage. It might be worth reaching out to the retailer or VIOFO's customer support to see if they can offer any assistance or repair options. Are there any very descrete models for the dash that are just essentially the camera and the brains are a seperate unit you put on your console or in your glove compartment?
If you're looking for a dash cam system that’s both discreet and secure, the BlackVue DR770X Box and DR970X Box are top recommendations. These innovative systems feature separate camera units that can be placed on your dashboard while the main processing unit, the Box, can be hidden away in your glove compartment or console. This design not only keeps your setup low-profile but also adds an extra layer of security by keeping your footage safe from theft. Plus, the DR970X Box offers 4K UHD resolution for crystal-clear video quality, making it a solid choice for anyone serious about on-road security.
@@blackboxmycar Thanks - I like the concept but the videos comparing them to other systems with the new chipset show they don't take very accurate images.
What about a solution that includes an externally mounted rear camera? I own a van with no rear windows so I would like to mount a camera on the rear of my roof rack or somewhere else. Thanks!
No worries, there are some externally mounted rear camera options! Take a look at the BlackVue DR770X-2CH Truck, or the Thinkware Multiplexer. Not currently, we're quite happy with the PowerCell 8's performance. Battery pack's as a space is evolving with new brands and features being introduced, we are watching closely to see what resonates most with people and will consider these factors when eventually going to the drawing board with the second iteration of the PowerCell 8.
The Fitcamx hardwired dash cam offers a clean installation with no visible wires. However, it may not have as many features or customization options as other dash cams. If a seamless setup are important, it’s a good option.
Im looking for a camera with certain criteria. Does it exist? 4 channel - front, rear, driver side, passenger side. (No interior) All cameras should be 4k with starvis 2. Pre buffered recording. To record incidents if I am away from my car. Pre buffered to capture video before and then after. Extreme heat compatible. As I live in south florida. A bonus would be able to use the rear facing cam as a backup cam. But not necessary. Any help?
Currently, there are no 4-channel dash cams available that offer 4K resolution with STARVIS 2 technology. However, we do have an excellent 3-channel option that might interest you: the VIOFO A229 Pro 4K 3-Channel dash cam. If a 4-channel setup is essential for you, one effective solution is to use two separate systems: one for the front and rear, and another for the two sides. This can provide comprehensive coverage and ensure high-quality footage from all angles. We understand that setting up such a system can be quite technical. For more specific suggestions and personalized assistance, please feel free to reach out to us at info@blackboxmycar.com. We’d be happy to help you find the perfect setup for your needs.
So I just returned my Q200 Thinkware... I really want motion detection while parked... Will I be happier with the viofo 229 pro 2 channel... I'm really torn... Don't wanna spend $500 + but I want a camera that can record while parked and be clear enough to zoom in and not be blurry
Hi there, sorry to hear the Q200 didn't meet your standards there. The Q200 does have motion detection, it just doesn't in the energy saving mode, so it will draw about just as much power as the VIOFO camera would, which also has motion detection. I will say that the A229 Pro will have significantly better image quality, with the latest sensors and HDR so even night situations will be fully covered. This is the best image quality you can get in dash cams at the moment.

Hey, thanks for the question. There are a lot of factors at play here that can impact which dash cam we recommend, ie. your vehicle make and model, what your budget is, your installation preferences, etc. We'd recommend you to email us at info@blackboxmycar.com or just live chat with us and we can offer one that will work for you.
Unfortunately, none of the mirror dash cams offer that feature. However, it's a great time to subscribe to our TH-cam channel or follow us on social media for more insights, tips, and updates.
Nice work, thanks. But how to protect/monitor the sides of the car. When someone hits your vehicle door. Front and rear radar does not help in this situation right?
You probably look for one of the 3 channels one and add a cabin view camera, the cabin view camera can see out the window. There are some that can add side cameras to the side mirrors, but not many options.
We find that front and rear coverage is plenty for the vast majority of parking situations, and while the radar will detect the impact, the cameras only capture footage of what they're pointed at. If there's a specific side you are worried about, a 3-channel camera would be sufficient, but if you want 360-degree full coverage, things get more complicated. The Thinkware Multiplexer would be a good place to start, or you can look into 2 seperate 2-channel cameras, similar to what VortexRadar has set up here: th-cam.com/video/gSFxqHrF2Ro/w-d-xo.html
Hi there! Yes, the Viofo VS1 can be installed on the rear window of your vehicle. It's designed to be versatile, allowing for various mounting options to suit different needs. When installing on the rear window, ensure that the camera is securely mounted and that the lens has a clear view of the area you want to capture. This setup can help you monitor the road behind you, which is particularly useful for capturing incidents like rear-end collisions or tailgating. Yes, the BlackboxMyCar SmartDrive from this video perfectly fits this niche! The front screen is large and it comes with a backup camera. It will switch to the backup video feed as soon as you put your vehicle in reverse.
It's a tough call, they each have their advantages. If you are looking for the best cloud service, BlackVue. If you want the longest-lasting parking mode and best image quality, Thinkware.

Hi, I'm fr Sydney Australia, I have buy the vantrue n5 4ch, can u pls give me a recommendation on a battery power pack which one is best for the vantrue n5 parking mode, thx.
For sure, I can help with that. The good news is that we've spoken with other Vantrue users who have gotten battery packs to work. You can really choose any of them, but the main ones I'd recommend are the PowerCell 8 or the Cellink Neo Plus. Do keep in mind that you'll need to splice a Vantrue hardwire kit to a Battery output cable to get these working together, a local electrician can do so if it's too complicated.

Based on these reviews a couple years ago I bought the front/rear U1000. Don't like it. Saving a video is impossible, have or see an incident there is no 'quick save' that works (similar to my Previous Garmin). The standby eats og gobs of storage and rather than overwrite standby or parking videos, the dash cam overwrites the main footage. I am lucky to get 2 days of video history on the max size SD card. I carry two spare cards now, If I have something that I want to save I'll stop, pull the card and swap it out. It really sucks when you get that once in a blue moon incident right in front of you and you waited more than a day or two to download. I'll replace it, hopefully storage and ease of saving video clips is updated on these newer models.
This video reminds me of those AI produced videos, the ones that just talk about the specifications of the product, and barely give you any real world demonstrations. I've seen footage of the Thinkware U3000 against the Vanture N4 Pro, and the night performance of the N4 Pro is just superior to that of the U3000. It's details like that which would have been useful. Reading off product specification is something everyone can do, the question is, does the performance of the product live up to the stated specifications?
I completely understand where you're coming from. Real-world demonstrations and comparisons can provide valuable insights into how a dash cam performs beyond the specifications. It's important to see how the product handles different conditions, like night performance, to make an informed decision. While product specifications are useful, they don't always capture the nuances of actual performance. Hi there! I appreciate your perspective! It’s common for reviewers to highlight products they are associated with or have partnerships with. However, it’s always important to consider multiple sources of information when making a decision about a dash cam or any other product. If you have any specific questions about Thinkware products or need assistance in finding the right dash cam for your needs, feel free to ask! I'm here to help you with any inquiries you may have.
If people would actually adjust their side mirrors properly, then thry wouldn't have any blind spots and would not need to use a separate mirror and block a portion of the already small side mirror. You should not see the side of your own car in the mirrors. Your car is going to be there, no need in watching it as you drive. They are supposed to be used to see the lane beside your vehicle, not the road behind your car. The rear view mirror is for that, heck, it is in the name. So by selling those mirrors, you are actually promoting bad driving habits, not safety, which is the basis of your company. Is it not?
Thank you for your comment and for raising a valid point about mirror adjustment. You're right that properly adjusting the side mirrors can significantly reduce blind spots. Our add-on blind-spot mirrors are designed to complement this by providing an even wider angle view, which can be particularly helpful in heavy traffic or complex driving environments. We aim to enhance safety and ensure all drivers feel confident and secure on the road.
It''s very tough for us to provide specific information on the FitCamX since the model varies so greatly depending on the make and model of the vehicle it's being installed into. Overall, we've found that the image quality and features are subpar for a higher price than many comparable models out there, take our FitCamX vs A229 Plus comparison article for example, which you can find here: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/fitcamx-vs-viofo-a229-plus-2k-qhd-dash-cam-comparison-review
Unfortunately, keep dreaming! Built-in batteries in dash cams are typically unreliable because they have limited power capacity and can degrade quickly, especially in extreme temperatures. Wired connections ensure constant power and reliable performance, which is essential for continuous recording and critical features like parking mode. There's been some experimentation from users with solar panels but that hasn't proven as realistic yet. You can find a few backup cameras, or other systems that aren't constantly recording using this technology though.
If night recording is a top-priority, then you'll want to look for cameras sporting both Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors, and HDR, which have proven themselves as the best for recording in dark situations. Consider VIOFOs latest cameras, such as the A119 Mini 2, or the A229 Pro.
The reason for not having a dash cam yet, indecision, and no clear winner. Each dash cam has its drawbacks. After my accident, I bought the Rove R3. I hate it! I have to pull the memory card and carry it my computer, because they cant get their app to properly load and display the videos.
Hi there! it can be really annoying when the WiFi/app features don't work as advertised! Having to physically remove the memory card every time you want to view footage defeats the purpose of having WiFi capability. This is actually a common pain point we hear about with some budget dash cams - while they advertise WiFi connectivity, the app implementation isn't always reliable or user-friendly. Since you're looking for something more reliable, I'd be happy to help you find a better solution. Instead of recommending specific models, I'd encourage you to check out our Best Dash Cams of 2024 guide: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/best-dash-cams

I spent the past 3 years trying to find a decent front and rear dash cam setup. Lots of trash out there above all is the absolute worst of them all, the Garmin. Absolute rip off. Trash equipment and a fire hazard. Horrible customer service and eventual trash abuse you then completly ignore you. Do Not buy Garmin Wolfbox G850 and G900 systems are by far the absolute Best if you want it done right. And their (American English Speaking) support team is awesume. I bought another after setting one up in my kids car. Avoid Garmin, buy Wolfbox
IDK but I think it's pretty useless even if you are able to record who breaks into your car, because when your car's gone even with the footage it's useless. Maybe just to prove to the insurance it really got stolen.

Using ODBC-II port is moronic and a great was to destroy you main and waste thousands. It was not designed for continuous use. Same story for those insurance monitors. It is destroying your car. This guy is ignorant.
I understand your concerns about using the OBD-II port for powering devices. It's mainly for diagnostics, so using it for continuous power can be risky if not done correctly. For dash cams, it's safer to use a hardwiring kit or dedicated battery pack for a more reliable power source. Don't understand why this day and age dashcams don't leverage a solar panel to provide backup power while in parking mode?
While solar panels sounds like an exciting solution, it has proven not to be feasible at the current moment. Some members of the community have given it a shot, here is one such thread: dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/battery-pack-battle-royal-pc8-b-130x-bab-95.49084/#post-600395

I got BlackVue from you guys in 2021. Every single time when I needed it did not work. It finally died (infinite reboot) and I’m looking for new one. I will never again get any BlackVue product!

Try give Vantrue N5 a try.
Can you review the COOAU-D20S. It appears to capture license plates better than the Vantrue N4
I was gonna say looking sharp then you change back into your work hoodie lol
Valuable and on-point feedback as ever captain!
What budget dash cam do you recommend for me to install in my kids car for protection with a new driver??
Depends how in-depth you want the coverage to be. Realistically, $250 should be an adequate range for coverage, with a mic for audio recording and good quality. The VIOFO A229 Plus Duo, or Thinkware Q200 2-CH would be good options.
I still have my BLACKVUE 450-1ch and it works great. I use it as a portable for travel. I may upgrade my VIOFO A119-2ch as it's power-cycling now.
Hello
Thanks for the informative review. My question is that
1) Does the PowerCell 8 have higher capacities other than 7500mah?
2) Do you guys sell power cable to power the power cell 8 in house (which I can use to charge the battery in the confort of my home and simply return back to the car when full)
3) Is thinkware planning on doing anything on the image quality in terms of firmware update or the likes?
Thank you as I anticipate your detailed response
Hi there, glad you liked the review!
1. The PowerCell 8 has a capacity of 7500mAh. You can extend this by connected a Cellink Neo Extended (6,600mAh).
2. Yes, you can certainly charge a battery pack in your house! All you need is the cigarette lighter adapter of the camera and a Power Inverter, we sell them here: www.blackboxmycar.com/products/blackboxmycar-power-inverter

I have a couple of questions though. If we get an OBD Power Cable, shouldn’t we be able to power any dash cam? Why did you mention this as an option only for Thinkware Q200 from this list? Moreover, if I opt not to use GPS connector with Q200, will all other features still work fine?

It would be great if someone can create a front Dash Cam for your front license plate. Preferably 2K or 4K for pickup Trucks. Dash Cams over heat on windshield. Not to mention in the way, when you put sun shades on windshield. Also pickups are great when you have a front cameras, so you can park closer to curbs or parking lines. Nobody sells front cameras that are dash cams and not a rear camera showing a mirror image with backup lines. You also don’t have to worry about reflection from windshield or wet windshield blocking view.
Hi there, That sounds like a really innovative idea! Will let the marketing team know about it. Thanks!
i'm just curious, with the blackbox battery, does that mean i wouldn't have to hardwire my dashcam if i wanted 24hr protection? is it something that needs to be recharged?

Great information video. Thank you.

Contact support at info@blackboxmycar.com, use Live Chat, or call 1 (888) 978 6560 for help.
However, you have a couple of options:
Hardwiring Kit: This option connects your dash cam to the vehicle's fuse box, allowing it to draw power even when the ignition is off.
This setup would allow the dash cam to operate independently of the vehicle's main battery, ensuring parking mode is always active.

sorry if I missed, I need camera only on super Caps, as battery not work well in my hot place, which ones are on Caps?
Hi there! If you're looking for dash cams that operate with supercapacitors instead of lithium-ion batteries, BlackboxMyCar offers several models that utilize supercapacitors for better temperature resistance. Here are a couple of options you might consider:
VIOFO A119 V3 - This model uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery, making it more suitable for extreme temperatures.
VIOFO A129 Plus - Also equipped with a supercapacitor, this model is designed to withstand both hot and cold conditions.
Supercapacitors are excellent for handling temperature fluctuations, ensuring that your dash cam remains operational in hot climates. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out!

Could I use these cameras outside under a roof to do security of my property ??? Thanks
Thinkerware connect doesn't that require a 24/7 mobile hotspot? Don't most mobile hotspot turn off when the car is off?
Yes, you're correct. Thinkware Connect does require a constant internet connection, which typically means a 24/7 mobile hotspot. Most mobile hotspots do turn off when the car is off, which can be a challenge for maintaining a continuous connection. Still, there are still some hotspot option when the car is off., some of them are powered by OBD ports.

Is there such a thing as a dash cam with video outputs for wiring to an aftermarket head unit?
Unfortunately we've never had a camera capable of this. Most cameras record to an SD card stored in the camera

4 channel - front, rear, driver side, passenger side. (No interior)
All cameras should be 4k with starvis 2.

This is the best image quality you can get in dash cams at the moment.

are their any Mirror dash cams that support cloud upload ?
Can you put a viofo VS1 in the rear window ?

I need those dash cam
If you're interested in detailed comparisons or user reviews, I recommend checking out our Best of 2024 page for insights and reaching out to our support team. We can provide guidance based on customer feedback and help you find a dash cam that meets your expectations.

Video seems to just upsell their own products and sponsored by thinkware
Why is there no reviews on the fitcamx dash cams
It''s very tough for us to provide specific information on the FitCamX since the model varies so greatly depending on the make and model of the vehicle it's being installed into.
Overall, we've found that the image quality and features are subpar for a higher price than many comparable models out there, take our FitCamX vs A229 Plus comparison article for example, which you can find here: www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/fitcamx-vs-viofo-a229-plus-2k-qhd-dash-cam-comparison-review
Is a dash cam with no wires a thing or should I keep dreaming?
Unfortunately, keep dreaming! Built-in batteries in dash cams are typically unreliable because they have limited power capacity and can degrade quickly, especially in extreme temperatures. Wired connections ensure constant power and reliable performance, which is essential for continuous recording and critical features like parking mode.
There's been some experimentation from users with solar panels but that hasn't proven as realistic yet. You can find a few backup cameras, or other systems that aren't constantly recording using this technology though.
What about Vantrue N4 Pro?
I have it. It's awsome.
What about night recording?

Do Not buy Garmin
Wolfbox G850 and G900 systems are by far the absolute Best if you want it done right.

Почему нет ни одного 70mai, который снимает лучше чем Viofo?
Using ODBC-II port is moronic and a great was to destroy you main and waste thousands. It was not designed for continuous use. Same story for those insurance monitors. It is destroying your car. This guy is ignorant.
I understand your concerns about using the OBD-II port for powering devices. It's mainly for diagnostics, so using it for continuous power can be risky if not done correctly.
For dash cams, it's safer to use a hardwiring kit or dedicated battery pack for a more reliable power source.

Blackvue is a Chinese company.
How can you say it is the ultimate in security when it uses a cloud run by a Chinese company?
They are required by law to share all your info with the Chinese government.
This is incorrect, BlackVue is a Korean company. You can find this here: blackvue.com/about-us/
Basically shoved Thinkware brand down my throat. Little explanation of testing vs other brands. Poor video
