You're a good man Ben, providing live videos, specifications, and concise review information. The presentation and audio quality of your TH-cam videos have been A+. Not many dashcam manufacturers can compete with Viofo, at least you market a quality brand that people seeking a dashcam can rely upon when they come to your place of business.
I’ve bought a lot of electronics in my life. I would have to say this is the best review of a camera I’ve ever seen. Your information was straightforward easy to understand, backed up with side-by-side comparisons of video and still frame pictures. I truly appreciate the effort you put into this review. Keep up the good work!
Super impressed Ben you always put a 110% into these vids definitely appreciated by me! 👍👍 I'll admit there were some surprises mainly in regards to the parking modes. Found that quite interesting, and enlightening.
Ok, the viofo a139 pro is the best by far when it comes to license plate reading, and parking mode. However, Iv'e been thinking of buying the rove r2-4k pro(wish this one was reviewed instead) because this is a suction cup mounted device which would be better for travel with rental cars and my Wife may disagree with a more permanent mount on the windshield. I may even get a review mirror mount to prevent suction cup failure but have easier access. I wish viofo had this option but no. I would consider the rove r3 but it's currently priced at $300.
The ROVE R2 4K Pro It still uses the IMX335 Image sensor. It still is not a 4K camera. They are lying on their specs. It can not do 3840 x 2160 when it is not a 4K image sensor to begin with.
@@SafeDriveSolutions Good point. I see the R2 4k pro has a few other improvements (new chipset novatek 96670, more fps, capacitor, 5g wifi ) but I guess that's it.
@@roberteisenman4173 another option is to use the static mounts that come in the box. A lot of people will take them on and off windshields quite a bit with those.
The Rove uses a super capacitor for its power. I've had several dashcams over the years and found that the weakest point is the internal battery which degrades badly in New England weather, with frequent high and low temperatures. Supposedly the super capacitor technology stands up to extreme weather better than a traditional battery. In my opinion this is an important feature to note but I don't see any reviews touching on this
Thank you im on the verge of getting the mini 2. Its very good but now I am thinking I want a rear camera also and the 229 is $100 more. Is it possible to get the a119 mini but something else for the rear? (I am getting 2 cameras)
Hi I was wondering if you could help me the viofo a139 pro 3 channel is amazing and the one I would go for but the big power drawer on it on parking mode is not good for me as I need the parking mode to last 12-13 hours So the problem I have is I am thinking of getting the thinkware a3000 but it’s a 2 channel and realy needed interior camera to watch down the sides of the car as I am very worried about side damage in car parks I was wondering if I could use the thinkware rear camera and use it as an interior cam manly for use in parking mode do you think this will be fine ? Thanks Simon
Hey Simon, If you are worried about side damage to your vehicle having an interior camera may help but nothing will help better than a dash camera with extra camera you can mount on the outside of the vehicle for instance like the F790 or F200 Pro from Thinkware that will allow you up to 5 cameras. ANyway you look at it. A powercell will be needed. You can mount the U3000 camera in the interior but not sure how well it will work as it is only 128 degree wide, also it is not infrared.
@blackboxmycar I need GPS, speed and other telemetry on the (on the fly) uploaded video as I drive. I drive mainly at night (not uber etc hence 3 ch not a neccesity). The best Parking mode is not a deal breaker as the car doesn't need the best protection. I mainly need highway protection in case of accident and I am incapacitated and unable to secure my SD card or the dreaded insane traffic stop where I am unable to secure my SD card because of one reason or another(read betweeen the lines). I am thinking of thinkware, blackvue and nexxar. Which brand would you recommend
I went with the Rove 3 a year ago. Huge mistake! It has serious connection issues, and support has been useless. Switching from a 512 to 256 card helped by preventing the time out, but now selecting a video on the app brings up the wrong file. Customer support is very responsive, but asks for more information without being able to offer anything more than "We'll pass it along to our technical department.
So, your point is that the Rove and Red Tiger aren't 4K? You should be more specific. And holy cow! Look what an extra $200 can get ya. BTW: At the time of this video post, the R2-4K PRO had been available for months; same IMX335 but 96670, 5 GHz, super-caps vs Li-on among other feature tweaks. But I suspect it's... not 4K. Cheers.
You would be correct. The clip art says Real 4K?? Also yea the new Rove is not 4K. I had lots of customers who bought Red Tiger and Rove as they felt they were buying 4K. So i made it to educate people.
I have yet to see a real 4K dash cam from Red Tiger. Yet again a new product from them with no info on image sensor or anything. Probably not 4K again.
You are comparing units with 200$ different price points so this review is kind of misleading. The Redfin is 117$ and the one you keep emphasizing is best is almost 400$ 😅 real bud?
The IQ of the Rove is trash. I wouldn't even consider that unit. The Red Tiger has the best color saturation and white balance of the three; however, the nighttime video quality belongs to the Viofo unit.
I bought a Viofo A139 Pro and a battery pack for parking mode last month in preparation for my new RAV4 XSE that I now know I'm getting early next month.

Best review video ever 👍 I need a camera that I can transfer easily between vehicles. Any options ?
You probably want one with a suction cup. We dont deal with any suction cup dash cameras at all.
Figure out a way to attach one to an A229 Pro and I'll buy a bunch of stuff from you

We remove a lot of nextbase dashcams
Wow! Always top tier vids!
There is always a reason products cost less than others. Now I know the impact only is not effective on a red tiger.
Hi thanks for your video. I am wondering if the viofo A119 v3 2k if that its also good. the a139 pro is out of my budget.
Look at mini2 from viofo

It's a shame that you didn't add the external microphone. Curious about the difference in clarity between the external and internal.
A long time ago I did but it was not major difference at all
Great job Ben!
Thanks you did call the 24fps
Good work Ben,
I was wondering how this would have gone if you tricked us, and used the A119 Mini 2, instead of the A139 Pro. Lol

Really that would have been a better angle to play
