as a kid i had a ricky watters 49ers jersey my buddy had a barry sanders jersey.. he use to always make fun of my jersey like ricky was a bum or something.. looking back on it watters is so underrated
As a kid I grew up in a town in PA where the Eagles went for training camp. The level of love he got from the fan base was insane. He was a rock star. He only played for 3 years in Philly. But look at the Madden ratings from those years. He was a top 3 back in every one of them. Underrated? You're fuckin right
With ya man. Had a Watters Niner jersey, then a Philly and then the Seahawk. I'm glad he didn't go to Cleveland like it was rumored...it got expensive bein' a Watters fan.
Watters was a baller at ND! He was really versatile and hard-nosed. Too bad he and Tony Brooks got sent home from that USC game, and ND still won w/o these guys. He then had an awesome career w the 49ers, eventually winning a SB ring. He left for Philly and the rest was history. He was fun to watch!! He def. Belongs in the HOF along with another 49er, Roger Craig. #33 #32...
Why isn’t Ricky Watters in the HOF🏈 10,000 rushing yards 4,000 reception yards in his pro career with the 49ers Eagles & Seahawks 5 rushing touchdowns in a playoff game vs Giants in the 93/94 Divisional Round (playoff record) Super Bowl 🏟 XXIX Champion In 1995 (1 rushing touchdown & 2 touchdown catches vs Chargers) 2nd round pick out of Notre Dame
@@leeksv HOF isn't about personality. It's about the skill of the player. I think it's a joke bc TO wasn't a first ballot which is still very confusing.
Get him in the hall of fame !! For Christ Sake!! First to have 1000 on 3 different teams?? 5 tds in a playoff game against the Giants? Super Bowl and National Championship with Notre Dame? 3 TDs in a Super Bowl? Not to mention 10000 yards rushing...what do you have to do? Obviously its not about what he did on the field like it should be
Growing up in Harrisburg Pennsylvania Ricky would visit the town. At the time we lived in hall manor( a project in Harrisburg) it must've been the early 90s. Anyway my oldest brother gave Ricky a football card to sign as Mr watters was visiting the hood. Ricky accepted the card with the promise of returning it signed. Ricky would never return the card. My brother was a huge niners fan and since Ricky was from the area he was especially happy to get the card. My brother probably still dislikes Ricky until this day over that moment 😂
Loved Ricky Watters at Notre Dame whew he won a chip and brought a swagger to that team as well as the 49ers and Eagles.. got a bum rap from a fan base that didn’t appreciate his greatness at the time.. better off having bums like Vaughn Hebron
10,000 + rushing yards. 13th all time rushing. 3000 + yards receiving. 5 touchdowns in playoffs. 1000 + yards 3 different teams. Most touchdowns in super bowl.

"For who? For what?" Is why he's not in the Hall of Fame. Can you imagine Sanders, Payton or Smith saying "For who? For what?"
He's a borderline hof

1994 Fortyniners: win Super Bowl in dominant fashion.
Also 1994 Fortyniners: let Ricky and Primetime leave in free agency.
No way they could afford to keep him. SF mortgaged their future for that ring.
@@anthonygonzalez9422 true. Can't pay everyone, especially after a Super Bowl, unless you're the Chiefs.
