    My favorite athlete of all time. I'll never forget when he lost his helmet and kept running. He was a madman. Him and Barry are why I love football to this day.

    This is great. Steve Young has always been one of my favorite players. I remember being an 7 or 8 year old kid watching his run vs the Vikings. Classic.

    Dan, seriously, this is your best interview to date in my humble opinion. Two great guys talking about what they did and what they are doing now, and giving back. Phenomenal.

    Steve was one of the greatest NFL QB's of all time but I like Steve for being humble, nice,and never a bad word for Joe Montana even though Joe wasn't too nice to Steve when he was competing to be the starting 49er QB. Thanks Steve HOF!

    As a Cowboys fan I did not like Steve when he was a player. With age I have come to respect and appreciate a lot of players that I felt this way about. I still pull for the Cowboys but can respect all of the talent in the league past and present. Really enjoyed this interview and really enjoy Steve as an on air personality.

    He beat Rice in a foot race . Tied him in golf match . I saw Young in shorts at Niner camp - muscled up legs .
    Had to bring in Walsh’s left handed son to throw to Rice . Ball spins opposite, have to see it in the air for a while.
    It’s like boxing , it’s awkward , next thing know you laying on the canvas.

Gotta laugh that Steve didnt get any credit, or advantage for being fifth grandson of Brigham Young the schools named after.... I could listen to Steve all day long. Catch him on KBYU sports show on TH-cam does a great job. So wild Steve was behind to legends. Jim McMahon and behind Joe Montana. Yet rose to be another great at BYU and San Fran. Thanks Dan. Love the episode years ago after Steve won his Last Super bowl. Great show... Lastly miss that era of Steve and Joe... Ok lastly Hope he checks in and helps Zach Wilson

      Sadly have a point, Saints and Green Bay in the past have been robbed. So in NBA the Jazz against MJ pushed off Russel to make winning shot .....Steve even said after he won his last Superbowl on DP show he loves the game loves the camaraderie, but his brother saved someones life last night in a hospital as a Dr. He said Dan I just won game. Went on to say he'll miss it but guys who help people directly are really doing something like the police, firemen, Drs, Military. Again Steve said I just won a game... But though that cooled my obsession of the game for 20 years. I still believe it has its place unifying us as people and is fun to watch with family and friends... But like someone else said twenty years ago. Get your family their own Super Bowl in life for them.

    ok so the POSE is that Dan Patrick may yuck it up with the guests and he may Act like a casual sports guy But REALLY he is a Serious sports guy and he Knows his stuff.... so WHY *when Steve Young begins to tell of how Jim McMahon taught him how to put more Pop on the ball* does DP NOT ASK About THAT?! Why didn't DP ask.. "What did he tell you to do?? What did he tell you to change?? Did it Really make that big of a difference??..."????... *crickets* ... DP can't muster up THE SLIGHTEST curiosity about it!! DUDE IS A CASUAL ... uh CHAH CHAH CHAH .... Why is Everything the Freaking CARTOON NETWORK anymore???? Dan Patrick: just another sellout to The Giant Cultural Vacuum ... very sad .....

    I totally disagree with literally everything he said about the NFL. The owners are NOT partners with the players and will ALWAYS consider them to be slaves. The fact that Kaepernick has been blackballed for 5 years is BECAUSE OF THE OWNERS. Also, what the f does going to law school have to do with calling players SLAVES??? There hasn’t been a single change in the way owners see players. Omg what a horrible statement. Steve has totally sold out. That’s so sad bc he was a very good player. But he’s not the human Jim McMahon is. This is such a horrible interview but not bc of Dan.

    • @etanniarc1234
      @etanniarc1234 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's clear that you didn't listen to the interview at all. Steve said that some owners are profit sharing with the players and that's a positive change from the old days. His law school reference was that somebody called the players "chattel" which is a legal term that he learned in law school. I've met Steve and he's one of the greatest persons in the entire NFL alumni network. It sounds like you're still hung up on Kaepernick not finding a backup job in the NFL despite bringing a media circus with him..

      It is your right to disagree with everything he said . That aside it only indicates you have some clear deficiencies in listening skills and critical thinking . Steve Young was a player - do you think he would proudly consider himself a slave ? And the blackball part of Colin Kapernick - is possible - however that overlooks the competitive element of pro sports. If you are a coach - you are completely dependent on won/ loss record - so to blackball a player means that all 31 coaches are going to pass on their own success - for the sake of blackballing him . They may or may have not liked what he did - but he obviously could not make a contibution that was going to be worth the distraction that went with it. Personally i never ever had a problem with what he did. Trump exploited that because that is what he does .
