Joe Dumars is class personified. Isaiah and other Pistons got the recognition but Joe Dumars was the glue that held it together. A quiet, but deadly assassin who had an amazing jump shot and played high level defense. Although he was a true "Bad Boys Piston" he's an extremely nice guy. The night that his beloved Father passed, he had a career game, in the playoffs before even recieving the news about his Father. Only Isaiah and the front office knew. Dumars said during that game he hit shots that were normally impossible. After retiring, Mr Dumas went upstairs into the front office and as GM rebuilt The Pistons into a Championship team.
Granted Joe is a great guy but lets not forget during the playoffs he went to dinner with Jordan. Perhaps J gleamed enough insight to finally vanquish the bad boys. With a little help from the rules committee who made it a 2 shot foul to even think of impeding the crown prince of Nike's way to the basket. Also as GM all was not Rosie as the pick of Darko is perhaps the worst pick in history.
I loved watching him play. He was a steady force and great defender on those Bad Boy teams. I am a huge Jordan fan and I remembered that MJ always spoke highly of Dumars.
He’s a class act. At one time, I remember Jordan saying something along the line of “Nobody guards me better straight up than Joe Dumars”. Joe Dumars guarded Jordan. He didn’t try to injure him. The same can’t be said of a few of the other Pistons.
Joe was a good defender on the perimeter but top 3 no way how old are you that made that statement. I'm from his era. My top 3 on the ball defender would be Dennis Johnson, Micheal Cooper and Scottie Pippen
A lot of people who didn't like those Pistons liked Joe. A quiet worker who was a lot like Dennis Johnson of the Celtics . A super 2 way player you'd love to have on your team.
I remember Joe when he was the GM of the Pistons 10 years ago or so that he hadn’t shot a basketball since his last game. I found that incredible being that he’s around the game so much. I mean when you’re in a gym, I feel like everyone takes a few shots.
I’m glad we got at least Joe Dumars as an executive of the NBA. He knows how the game is supposed to be played, but realizes there’s going to be evolvement. But reigning in some of the blatant crap that almost makes the game unwatchable today is important. Hopefully he serious about the importance of enforcing the traveling rules. Shit is crazy when a guy takes two steps then hops twice into the lane and want to call it a euro step. The NBA doesn’t need to turn into And1.
Gentleman Joe was always my favorite. Loved John Salley too 'cause he was so goofy. Like that he turned up in the Bad Boys movie in a small but funny part.
Good, now I know who to say this to.. JOE DUMARS make those players play until the buzzer sounds no matter what the score is !!! If you REALLY want to show some sportsmanship, get those players to shoot an open shot from the half court logo at the buzzer for 3, the crowd will LOVE IT. Listen, it literally takes more time to run the clock out, giving the ball back and forth to each other and it it SO lame to watch that.
People forget stern gave jordan the top superstar treatment. Meaning he hot all the 50-50 calls and favors from the refs. Stern needed to create a superstar.
Class Act! MJ and Dumars mutual respect !! Isiah can try and change history with all of his explaining why this or that but it is what it is! Isiah was an **swhole 😂
I wished he would have pushed back a little harder when Dan asked him if he was worried about his family associating him as a Bad Boy. But Joe is too decent of a human being to ever be indignant about anything.

Dumars is a genuinely good guy and so down to earth, smart and capable as well.

I grew up a Celtics fan and had no love for the Pistons, EXCEPT for Joe. Always a class act and hell of a ball player.
Joe Dumars. Great player, great executive, impressive hairline as well for his age.
Joe Dumars is the king
A lot of people who didn't like those Pistons liked Joe. A quiet worker who was a lot like Dennis Johnson of the Celtics . A super 2 way player you'd love to have on your team.
If you didn’t see this man play, he was the pros pro. Loved watching his game
What a class act.
The one player on the Pistons I had nothing but respect for, being a Lakers fan.
Two great men Talking...Live it!!!
Joe, thanks for the 3 championships for the Pistons!!
Joe's spot on. Rodman is for sure one of one.
I like this guy. Great guest .
Joe is such a great guy and knows exactly who he is. What a role model.
dumars is one of the enemies i respect 😅
Gotta love Joe. A hard nose competitor on both ends of the floor. I never remember Joe doing anything petty.
Love Dumars!
Love Joe. Could you imagine if he and Jerry West were to team up in someone's front office?! Shoot, maybe we just let those two run the NBA!
Here's something you probably don't know: Joe named one of his kids 'Jordan.' Respect!

I love that tv wall.
This funny because I hated the Bad Boy Pistons but for some reason I always like Dumars.
Love it

Euro step is a nice word for traveling in today's game
let me guess, dan is going to ask him alot of jordan questions.
dude won two as a player and one as an executive.
People forget stern gave jordan the top superstar treatment. Meaning he hot all the 50-50 calls and favors from the refs. Stern needed to create a superstar.
What is traveling?????
You tell me, a thousand steps!!
I always hated the Pistons - Always respected Dumars - his actions spoke louder than the punk teammates.
Class Man
Bill Russell forever
Hey Joe what is traveling now? Lmao that was good by Dan…
Joe cool
Love Joe D.
my favorite Isiah Thomas explaining what Bobby Knight said about MJ at the Olympic tryouts: watch this one now, this one's a little different..."
Joe Dumars interview on Dan Patrick show? So, at minimum 2 or 3 Jordan questions 🥴
you copied my comment!!! just kidding but dan has a big man crush on jordan.

What sports media is supposed to be
Hated the Pistons, loved JD.
He was the important player in bad boys
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Every game Jordan ever played is on video. He didn't get away with bad calls. Proof would be nice.
Make A Clip Of Asking Joe D What's Traveling & Did Play The Old ESPN Video "Don't Walk"
Joey Dee❗
June July Joe
Enlighten JD on the feeling of the game ,,,what’s your take on what’s happening???
I wished he would have pushed back a little harder when Dan asked him if he was worried about his family associating him as a Bad Boy. But Joe is too decent of a human being to ever be indignant about anything.
Gus was my favorite guard college guard when i was in high school
Wilt 🐐
Let’s not forget Draymond is a second Gen bad boy!!
What the heck? This guy is the Executive VP of Basketball Ops and didnt seem to know alot😂😂😂😂
I didn't understand this comment until I finished the video! 😂😂😂😂
In the end it doesn’t matter what the rules are- it’s what’s enforced . Jordan pushed off more than any player ever .
I used to be 😄
It is because of Joey D that I shot rainbows!
Nope, nope, nope 😂😂
