      Agree 100%. Steve Young, Troy Aikman, John Elway & even Brett Favre had excellent running backs to get their rings. Montana had Roger Craig for 3 of his 4 rings.

    I was just 10 years old when Ricky left the 49ers. I didn't really think twice about it. But now 30 years later, it makes sense why the 49ers didn't spend big money to keep him. He was always fun to watch

  • @Drooblemeister
    @Drooblemeister 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    The Niners should have signed him again in '95, once Watters was gone, their chance for a repeat or Championship #66 greatly diminished and the Niners were never the same because they had no running game.

      They couldn't. The 49ers cheated on the salary cap so badly in 1994 to win a Super Bowl. They had to let go Deion, Watters just as a start to making the cap in 1995.

    • @achilles9448
      @achilles9448 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They wanted to sign him, but the eagles offer a huge contract, and he sign it. I was very upset when he left san Fran, bt I understood it. he already has a super bowl ring, plus he would be paid a lot more so it's kind of like if one of us got a promotion that's a job we work at the NFL is not just a game matter fact it's more of a business then the game years later Waters said that he should have stayed in San Fran his numbers in his career are outstanding but he is not in the Hall of Fame and I think it was due to 1 incident where he was going for a past the middle of the field and he saw he was going to get hit by one of the safeties so he pulled his arms back not to catch the football after the game they asked him why did he do that and his response was for who for what

    AS A DIE HARD DALLAS COWBOYS FAN WHO HATES THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS I NOMINATE RICKY WATTERS FOR INDUCTION INTO THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME. ALONG WITH ROGER CRAIG (RICKEY HAS BETTER CAREER NUMBERS BY THE WAY) , JOHN TAYLOR, RONNIE LOTT, ERIC WRIGHT, & STEVE YOUNG WERE THE ONLY 49ERS I EVER LIKED. I FEEL CRAIG SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE HALL OF FAME YEARS AGO, I ALSO FEEL LIKE PRIEST HOLMES SHOULD AS WELL & I BRING THEM BOTH UP TO POINT OUT JUST HOW MUCH MORE PRODUCTIVE WATTERS WAS THAN BOTH OF THOSE GUYS BUT BECAUSE THE MEDIA DIDN'T LIKE HIS COCKY & SWAGGERING ATTITUDE THEY AREN'T TRYING TO CHAMPION HIS HALL OF FAME CASE SMH SUCKS REALLY.

    • @JsnHighlights1316
      @JsnHighlights1316  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The HOF comity is suspect........The reason I started back making videos was because they didn't induct T.O. into the HOF I was shocked......but I agree Craig and Watters should go......and DO YOU THINK STERLING SHARPE SHOULD BE INDUCTED INTO THE HOF?

    • @nikosuavesworldofsportsmusic
      @nikosuavesworldofsportsmusic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jsn Walker HELL YEAH STERLING SHARPE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE HALL OF FAME YEARS AGO. I CALL HIM THE GAYLE SAYERS/TERRELL DAVIS OF NFL WIDE RECEIVERS BECAUSE IF SAYERS & DAVIS CAN PLAY ONLY 5 & 7 YEARS RESPECTIVELY & MAKE THE HALL THAN WHY NOT SHARPE AFTER 7 YEARS. HE LED THE LEAGUE WITH 18TDS HIS FINAL YEAR JOINING MARK CLAYTON, JERRY RICE, & RANDY MOSS AS THE ONLY 4 WIDE RECEIVERS TO CATCH 18TDS IN A SINGLE SEASON, HE BROKE ART MONK'S RECORD OF 106 RECEPTIONS IN A SEASON IN 1992 WITH 108 WHILE ALSO GETTING OVER 1,400 YARDS WITH 13TDS TO WIN THE WIDE RECEIVER TRIPLE CROWN ONLY STEVE SMITH SR. OF THE CAROLINA PANTHERS DURING THE 2005-06 SEASON HAS WON THE WIDE RECEIVER TRIPLE CROWN SINCE THEN. HE ALSO BECAME THE FIRST WIDE RECEIVER TO RECORD CONSECUTIVE 100 CATCH SEASONS WHEN HE HAD 112 RECEPTIONS IN 1993 AS WELL AS LEADING THE LEAGUE IN YARDS IN 1989. I ALWAYS SAID BACK IN THE 1990'S THE ONLY WIDE RECEIVER I WOULD EVER CONTEMPLATE TRADING MY BOY MICHAEL IRVIN FOR WAS STERLING SHARPE. I'LL ALSO GO TO MY GRAVE SAYING HAD SHARPE NOT PREMATURELY GOTTEN INJURED IN 1994 HE WOULD'VE RETIRED AS THE NFL ALL-TIME LEADER IN RECEPTIONS & RECEIVING YARDS WHILE RICE ONLY WOULD'VE BEEN THE RECEIVING & TOTAL TOUCHDOWN LEADER BECAUSE AT THE TIME THAT WAS THE ONLY STATISTIC RICE HAD A SIGNIFICANT GAP/LEAD ON STERLING SHARPE....WILL YOU BE UPDATING YOUR STERLING SHARPE VIDEO LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD?

    • @JsnHighlights1316
      @JsnHighlights1316  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      that's what's up........I Can't believe I'm saying this but Sterling Sharpe was my favorite wide receiver when I was growing up.....I felt like Jerry was the best but Sterling was my favorite for some reason.....and I'm going to redo that Sterling Sharpe video and most of the videos I have music on........

    One of 49ers biggest mistake, not signing Ricky back. What a drop off after he left. That really hurt the 49ers Offense for years. Ricky should have retired a 49er.

    Him not going after that pass might have kept him out of the HOF..which was to bad. He was a very good back, who brought a winning attitude to the 49ers and came up big in SB..I liked him best with 49ers...was sort of a perfect fit for awhile...He was sort of immature, but liked his passion with SF.

  • @twyz0ne

    This dude is so underrated it's sickening 🤔 He's one of the best running backs to ever play the game. I remember how fast he could get to that sideline and turn up field. Let's not forget he had some of the best hands too. One of the best receiving running back's to do it. To keep him out of the HOF for being a bit cocky, is the absolute dumbest, hypocritical shit they could have done. There were so many other trash talking dudes to get in. What is up with them and the Niners? Roger Craig was another RB they completely shitted on. Frank Gore didn't even make the NFL network's all time list. Like seriously? He's a few yards behind Barry Sanders on the all time rushing list. Do these people smoke crack or what? Frank is a HOF running back, but he doesn't make the all time list? That is utter bullshit. He's earned it. Truly fucking disgusting. They had the nerve to put Adrian on the list and not Gore. I would like to know why? We are talking about a one of the best running backs of all time. Shit, he's still doing at the age of 36.

  • @LegendoftheDragonSword
    @LegendoftheDragonSword 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think in the next 10 years a lot of the 10,000yd+ career rushers are going to get hard looks at the HOF. With the declined usage of backs in general and so many of them being replaced by the age of 30, Derrick Henry and Ezekiel Elliott may be the last two to even cross 10,000yds. I'd like to think the guys that won Super Bowls rings like Ricky Watters, Ottis Anderson, Corey Dillon, Marshawn Lynch & Jamal Lewis might have just a little extra on the resume, but good arguments can be made for all of them. I think we all know Adrian Peterson & Frank Gore are no brainers.
