You neglected to mention the history of that location. It's built on the old Mayview State Hospital grounds. Actually, as you mentioned, the location really is excellent with tons of things to do especially in terms of recreation. There is also an upscale retirement community right next door.

Yes!!! Mayview opened in 1893!! I remember it always being there as I was growing up.

@livinginpittsburghpa true story. I worked in mental health. I worked at a hospital in New York. A new doctor noticed my Pittsburgh Steelers shirts I would wear and asked why. I said I was originally from Pittsburgh. I found out that he worked at Mayview when it closed. I told him that my first job in mental health was a what's now Mercy Behavioral Health due to the closing of Mayview since patients were being relocated in the community. Small world!
