These pitches don't have to be an accurate estimation, it could also be how much money you need invested and how much of the company you're willing to give out, besides, these evaluations don't last long, you might be worth a lot more or less in months.

The sharks recognize Wen's potential. However, the structure of his business(es) is just not up to the standard of an investable schema. For example, he has great Kickstarter numbers, but he needs a proven customer base (the acquisition numbers Kevin mentioned) to cement his projections. That's why the sharks won't invest. He needs to come back as soon as he gets to that point.
Well in all fairness it was a combined deal with the rest of his products. Which collectively would’ve been around 500K or so. He’s got pretty good margins and a decent customer acquisition, but it was all on kickstarter. Needs his own platform to really see the numbers.
